Apple Logo turning on and off on screen!!

My screen keeps having a apple logo turning on and off..
My screen is firstly 'non-lit' then 'lit' in bout 10secs.
Is this what u call a backlight?!
If so, how can u turn it off?
I cnt even acess any files.. or listen to music.
I tried resetting my ipod over and over again.. But it did not respond.
I just had my ipod for less than a day.. How unlucky!

Like the other two individual's i too am having this same issue. The only difference is now this is the second faulty iPod Nano i have recieved. I am able to press the select and play button for 6 seconds and force it into disk mode, but if i return to regular status, the nano returns to the same state of blinking.
I've been through the steops of reseting and even restoring to factory, I can see the ipod on my desktop as well as in itunes but once i eject the nano, the screen either stay blank, or goes back to to blinking. How do i get my nano to be like a normal one like everyone else has, without anymore issues, bad enough having issues with apple care to transfer my apple care for the nano to this new one from the old faulty one i had.

  • TS3274 Does the apple logo turn on and off constantly while updating software or have i broken it?

I am new to ipad and didnt expect the screen to flash on and off after clicking on an update. Is this what is supposed to happen or has something gone wrong?

I remember some people posting that the update to iOS 5 took up to 8 hours or more to download and install. What must be taken into account here is the fact that these people were all trying to download and install the update the very afternoon and/or evening that the update was released. I updated that night and it took me about 1-1/2 hours to update, install, restore from the backup and sync all of my content back to my iPad - the entire process start to finish.
I felt like one of the very lucky ones after reading some of the horror stories about the updates that day/evening. Obviously the servers were overloaded, but still 8 hours or more is incredible.

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

  • When i plug in my ipod touch (8gb, 3rd generation) it doesn't turn on and the apple logo flashes on and off. how can i stop it and turn on my ipod??????

when i plug in my ipod touch (8gb, 3rd generation) it doesn't turn on and the apple logo flashes on and off. before this it wouldn't turn on unless it was plugged in.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

iPhone apple logo goes on and off and is unresponsive

It needs to be dried out. Stop using it.. don't turn it on. Put it in a zip lock bag with some rice or one of those packets of dessicant for a day or two. That might do it.

I don't have working home button, but when i try to charge my iPod 4th gen it shows an apple logo that turns on and off and it wont let me turn on my iPod! How do i fix that?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer

  • How do i fix my issue: Apple Logo flashes on and off after iphone battery died during IOS update?

I've tried the methods I've seen on youtube and other iphone tech help sites but I am still having the same problem. Today while updating to IOS 7 my iphone 4 battery died and I didnt have a charger, now that I am home an I put in on the charger I notice the apple logo just flashes on and off. I've tried to restores using the DFU mode with the home and power button but that only seem to stop the logo from flashing and even then the iphone still isnt recognised by the pc to restore, Is there any other way i can go about fixing this problem!!!!

You can try the steps recommended in the User Guide.  If they don't work bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

my iphone 4 went dead and now has the apple logo is slow blinking on and off when it's plugged into my computer. I cannot stop it. Tried a hard restart but nothing happened.

    Morning blgarratt,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If it is showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, for over ten minutes.
For troubleshooting on this, take a look at this article:

    Hope this helps,

  • Doesn't start, Apple logo blinks on and off.

My iPod Classic won't start.  There's just a pale image of the Apple logo which blinks on and off.  Plugging it into various USB ports has no effect.
Dying battery?  (I've had the device for about a year only.)

Okay, here's something I found out: charging it with a power adapter instead of via the USB cable worked.
Question: why would charging it with the USB connection not work?

  • IPod will not start or reset, plugging in makes apple logo flash on and off

My friend's iPod nano 3G won't turn on. In fact it won't do anything - I can't even reset it. When plugged it, it flashes the apple logo every 1.7 - 1.8 seconds. Suggestions?

I had the exact same problem about 10 minutes ago. I was freaking out because I'm going on vacation soon and I was getting all worked up because none of my three power sources were charging it and it wasn't even turning on at all.
I called Support and the automated phone person gave me these steps:
    1. Plug the iPod into the computer
    2. Set it down on a flat surface
    3. Take index fingers and hold menu and center button for about 5 seconds (it actually took me 20 seconds)
It then connected to the computer and turned on. I don't know why trying to reset it normally didn't work but try this and I hope it helps!!

  • Macbook 13" Backlight Turns On and Off when Screen Moves

I've started having an annoying problem with my Macbook. Sometimes when I open the lid, the backlight won't come on. If I move the lid around for a while, the backlight sometimes comes on, but if I make any sudden movements with the laptop, the backlight will go back off. It's getting to a point where I might have to fidget with the lid for a good 10 minutes before the screen comes back on and I can't deal with it anymore. I know the screen is still working because if I put it under light, I can sort of see what's supposed to be there.
It seems likely that the problem is a loose cable somewhere, but I took the screen apart and couldn't see anything glaringly wrong. The laptop is out of warranty and I have a significant amount of experience with PC repairs, so I plan on fixing this myself. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I keep reading that most times people have problems with the backlight, it's because the inverter has gone bad. However, the fact that the problem is caused and resolved by moving the screen around makes me doubt that the inverter is the issue here.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks, guys!

FIrst, did you do a power reset? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
Second, are you running Boot Camp or Apple OS X when you put the machine to sleep?
Third -- do you have Bluetooth turned off? (It's a known problem if you have other Bluetooth devices on that are searching for Bluetooth devices -- like leaving your iPhone near your MBP and both have Bluetooth enabled...
Your not leaving an iPhone plugged into the USB port are you? Unplug it and use a wall charger.
What else is on your network that might cause it to keep turning on? Do you use anything within the house that searches for a network signal throughout the day? -- Slingbox, for example?
