Apple logo when plugged into wall, nothing when connected to computer
I think my iPhone may have finally met its last days. This week while on my honeymoon in Puerto Rico, I jumped into a waterfall with my phone in my pocket. Crap! I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and it still worked fine. I started praising my Otterbox for saving it. 3 hours later I arrived back at my hotel room, and the phone wouldn't turn on. Weird because it was working for a couple of hours. 3 days later and anytime that I plug it into the wall all I get is an apple logo that comes in goes every few seconds. I tried a reset and no luck.
When plugged into the wall, I can hold the home and the lock buttons, and it shows me a picture that says to connect it to iTunes but it disappears after half a second. However, whenever I plug it into the computer I get NOTHING. No apple logo, nothing in the device center that shows I'm even connected.
Is there any hope for me? Any help is much appreciated. I have over 200 pictures from my wedding and honeymoon that I don't want to lose.
Sorry, disregard the last response; I can't edit it. You should dry it BEFORE trying different cables. The safest way to go about this is dry your iPhone inside-out and to not turn it on until it's dry. Maybe there is a little moisture stuck inside preventing it from booting, but if you're lucky, it's not permanently damaged. The best way I've heard of to dry it is to leave it overnight in a tight bag with dry rice or, better yet, silica packets (those anti-moisture things found in packaged items). Maybe longer if you want to be extra safe. If it still doesn't charge without the Apple logo flashing, try using different Lightning to USB cables. Maybe it's just a bad cable, but you shouldn't test that until you've dried your phone.

A. Pressed menu & down to reset Apple TV

After 20 to 30 sec horizontal lines came on screen remained for 20 sec then screen again went blank. Waited for couple minutes. LED still flashing - pressed Menu button for 2/3 sec - flashing stopped & LED glows continuously. Screen blank
C. Reset the unit again by pressing menu & down. When it restarted - while LED was still flashing, got orange color screen with Apple logo in the middle. This screen remained till LED stopped flashing & then screen went blank -

So here is the story: The Airplane Mode is enabled for an hour before my phone died. I charged my phone and the message "Activation Required" appeared. I slide the unlock button and the message "Connect to iTunes" appeared. So, I connected my iphone to itunes, but my phone is not opening, it is stuck at the apple logo. Well if you upgraded the OS to 10.6, the firmware might have been changed so you can't c or option key boot off the 10.5 disks any longer. Or the 10.5 disks might have gone bad, you can't get replacements anymore.
Your likely looking at a drive replacement, depending what the machine is, it's condiition etc.

I would try installing OS X 10.6.3 onto a blank external powered drive (hold c boot, use DU to format GUID OS X extended J), you can then hold the option key and boot from it see if your machine is the problem or just the drive.
Then make your internal drive replacement decison.
Far as OS goes, on a 10.5 era machine I wouldn't go past 10.6.8. for speed and stability reasons.
10.7 is a nightmare except for 2011 hardware IMO.

I purchased a 16gb ipod touch 1 gen and it wont restore or show the battery chaging icon. It shows the symbol of usb cable and what appears to be an itunes symbol without the itunes words being displayed. Upon trying to restore I have gotten error codes 1603 & 1604. I referred to the apple website for assistance and followed the steps to the letter with no results. So what else should I try or could I try because I have has no such luch thus far? I have held the home button and power button I tried to enter DFU mode but unsuccessful due to the screen boots with apple logo then immediately goes to the itunes screen and no further only when connected. Will not power on without usb connection have charged battery to see if it was the issue and no battery bar locator displays with or without being connected to PC.
So you did all this:
Error 1603: If you receive this error and the iOS device is not automatically placed into recovery mode, it may be necessary to do so manually. Refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore for steps on placing iPhone into forced recovery mode. Also, remove the IPSW and attempt to restore again. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user.
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I was about to send in my iPod for repair, but I thought I might check if it happened to someone else here. My iPod I got 10 months ago just displays an Apple logo. The light will turn on, and off, it will reset and go to the diagnostics screen, but it won't go any farther. I have tried to reset it, connecting it to the computer, (the iPod won't recognize the comptuer and vise versa), I would let the battery run down, but (like I have a choice anyways) but then I couldn't charge it because the computer won't recognize it! I think it really is time to get this iPod in for service, but I thought I might check here.
Oh, and it is a 6GB 2nd generation mainly used with USB 1.1, if that helps.

Anyone have any suggestions on this problem? The exact same problem occurred to my wife's 80 GB classic yesterday. The grey apple screen flashes when hooked up to my iMac via a USB cable. iTunes does not recognize it. It works in the car or house though with our Griffin power accessories. Unplug it from the USB cord though and the screen goes black. Battery indicator says it is fully charged.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer. -
MY iPhone 5C suddenly stopped working. It wont connect to my Mac and repeatedly reboots from the apple Logo when plugged into the wall.

I also have Apple Care + but didnt let them give me a new one yet because I have photos on this that I have no yet backed up that are very important. Connecting in recovery mode is your only chance to use the phone again, besides getting it serviced by Apple.

My ipad has the message-This ipad hasn't been backed up in two weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi. I press ok and nothing happens. I have it locked, plugged into wall, and conected to wi-fi. How do I get it past ok?
Go to Settings, iCloud, and then Storage and Backup. You will then see a button to backup your iPad. It may be that you have much stuff (i.e. photos, apps) for it to do a full backup but you will be able to tell what the estimated backup should be and what it will consist of so that you can choose to prune down items. If you don't want to backup and get rid of the messages you can just turn backup off from this area as well.

My nano blinks the apple logo when plugged into a charger and will not respond to any reset commands, anyone have experiance with this problem?
By a reset, I assume you meaning pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
What happens if you try to manually place the iPod into Disk Mode? If you can do that, I would recommend connecting the iPod to iTunes and restoring it.

my ipad mini has water damage but when I plug into wall it says to connect to itunes. When I plug into Mac nothing happens. Not even a charging sign and nothing happens with itunes. Computer doesn't recognize it's plugged in.
If moisture got inside, it may have shorted the iPad's electronics.

how can i fix my iphone 3g if and only it displays the apple logo when it is connected to its charger but it displays nothing when the charger is removed?
Plug it into a wall outlet and leave it plugged in for approximately 20 minutes.
Then try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds.
Does the device power on at this point? If not, the battery or logic board is gone.
Take it to Apple for evaluation.
It may be worth replacing the battery, but I personally wouldn't spend the $149US for an Out of Warranty replacement on a 3+yr old device.
