Apple Lossless "ineligible" in iTunes Match

Hi,
so after successfully re-ripping most of my CDs in Apple Lossless and replacing the existing AAC files in my music library (thanks to fabulous Doug's Scripts), I recently purchased some high resolution music files and converted them from FLAC to Apple Lossless. The audio files show and play correctly as "Apple Lossless audio file" at 24-bit and 96k or 192k in iTunes. However, iTunes Match apparently doesn't know how to deal with them.
I searched discussions here and found a number of statements that iTunes Match should read and match music in Apple Lossless, match them with compressed AAC versions and use these compressed versions to play on mobile devices.
Any idea why the high resolution files aren't recognized?
Both albums exist on iTunes and should be matched.

What do you mean by "supported"? Supported to do what? Match it against music that's available on iTunes? Why not? I understand if iTunes Match wouldn't upload files with more than 24/48 resolution for their size. But if the album is known, it wouldn't have to be uploaded to be matched. So why this restriction?
Maybe there's another (technical) reason?

  • ITunes Match Unable To Get Past "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..."

Been trying for days but it just gets to "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..." and then stops and allows me to press the Start button again to start the match process.  Sometimes I get error -3231.
I've called Apple and they want $19 to solve the issue even though I paid the $25 for Match.
I've turned iTunes Match off.  Turned Genius off.  Logged out of my iTunes account.  Quit iTunes.  Restarted. Logged back into iTunes account.  Turn Genius on.  Turn iTunes Match back on and let it go through the process again with no success.
My library has a couple hundred songs less than the 25,000 max but it is pretty large.  Had the same issue when I tried with a smaller library some time ago.  I've created a new library and have the same issue.

    Hi,
You should consider rebooting your internet router
Then try holding option key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes and then reopen. Turn on iTunes Match and select add this computer.

  • Waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results - time out -uk

    Hi,
    Help me please
I seem to be stuck in a loop that after the gathering of information has finished, the info is sent to apple and then I get 'waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results' after about 30 or so seconds I then get an error message
'we could not complete your request, the network timed out, blah blah blah make sure network connection is active'  no error code.
I am a windows 7 user, I have comodo fire wall, nod32 and sky broadband.
I have forwarded the ports 80 and 443, i have turned off comodo and disabled nod32, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled itunes and I am still no further forward.
My internet connection is fine, i can access and download from the itunes store so there should be no issues, genius is on and working and getting results from apple so what is wrong with match?
    Thanks
    Marc

    Marcus_30,
thanks, unfortunately tried almost all of that already...
You must be able to disable the firewall, even just temporarily.
    Did that already, no change
Plug directly into the router and have nothing else running.
no change either if connected via Wifi or cable
I take it that you can connect to the store ok?
yes, iTunes store is working fine - even can download at the same time I am getting the network timeout error
Have you been through the re-installing iTunes motions?
this will be my next step - had hoped to avoid that...

  • Waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results

Out of the blue, iMatch is hung-up on step 1 and displays this in the progress bar
"waiting for apple to deliver your itunes match results".  Nothing ever happens after that.  Songs that I have been adding since the beginning are in the cloud and play on all my devices -even thought in itunes it indicated that they are not in the cloud. Anything new I have added to my library appears on my other devices as grayed-out and do not play.  They do play on my PC.
I have a Dell PC with Vista running the latest version of iTunes.
    I have signed in/out
    Turned iMatch (and genious) off/on
    Deauthorized and re-authorized the PC
    restarted iTunes
    restarted the PC.
I have no other issues with this machine.
Support has not been able to help other than claiming it is Apple's fault.
    Thanks, VJ

    I had to restart iTunes.

  • I bought iTunes Match; nonetheless, on iTunes Radio I routinely get ads.  Apple says that with iTunes Match one should not get ads.  Whaddup?

I bought iTunes Match; nonetheless, on iTunes Radio I routinely get ads.  Apple says that with iTunes Match one should not get ads.  Whaddup?

Requiring Match to be switched on, even though we have paid, to get ad free Radio can be costly.  Why?
Because if you want to listen to Radio with cellular data (not much data required) you are also agreeing to Match over cellular which can suck data like you won't believe.

  • Why would a song I purchased from iTunes be ineligible for iTunes match?

Why would two songs I purchased from iTunes be ineligible for iTunes match? Both are part of a total album and the rest were uploaded okay.
    Thx

Are they old songs that you may have purchased from a different store id years ago?
If your have old purchased songs that are drm protected and they are not associated with the store id that you are currently using then they will not be eligible.
I would burn to a disc and then rip back to your library.
Burn to the cd.  Deletel the old files from your libary and delete the files don't keep them.  Rip the cd back.
After you have tested the ripped songs back then empty your trash, or back up the old drm protected songs in a seperate folder.

  • This Device is already associated with an Apple ID after subscribed iTune match.

Since subscribed iTune match, I cannot listen to my music although I enabled iTune Match for my iPad2. Instead, it always displayed "This Device Is Already Associated With An Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this device with just one apple ID every 90 days. This device can be used with another Apple ID in 75 days." I only pressed "OK".
Who could help me or give me suggestions about that.
    Thanks.

Well, that's a bummer.  I guess Apple thinks no one ever travels.  I live in 2 countries and thus have 2 different accounts with 2 different credit cards.  Now that iTunes match deleted my entire catalogue on my iPad 2 because I signed in with my second country account yesterday to buy an App.  I resigned into my first country account today only to have everything deleted.  No I have to wait a few weeks to put my music back on my iPad until I return to my first country and transfer it from my Mac.  Argh!

  • HT4914 Do I have to have my computer switched on if I have Apple TV and have iTunes Match ?

Does my computer have to be switched on to access iTunes in the cloud - if I have  Apple TV and ITunes Match ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you have an Apple TV, you don't need to turn on the Mac or PC in order to listen to your songs in your Apple TV from iTunes Match, as they are not stored in your Mac or PC

  • HT1660 using lossless files with itunes match

Creating lossless files in itunes dupicates the file,I use itunes match, how can I just use the lossless files for playback, I stream music to a squeezbox touch.

    Hi,
Tracks will be matched as 256kbps AAC. Non matched 320 AAC will be uploaded as 320 AAC  and appleloss transcribed to 256 AAC.
The tracks on your hard drive will not change unless you decide to delete original and download matched version or 256 AAC in the case appleloss less files. Uploade 320 AAC files will be same file.

  • 24 bit songs ineligible for iTunes Match?

I just got the reissue of The Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie from their website - 24-bit digital download.  iTunes is saying all the songs are ineleigible.  Is this because of the 24-bit encoding?
What's strange is that I have (so far) purchased one other 24-bit digital download, 2nd Law by the Muse.  When I imported these songs into iTunes, I had no issues uploading/matching them with iTunes Match.
The only obvious diffence between the albums is I imported 2nd Law under iTunes 10, and MCIS under iTunes 11.
Is there a workaround?  I don't want to have to convert my songs to a lower quality format, especially considering what I paid for them...
    Any comments are appreciated...

    Tridentine,
Are you sure you had "no issues"?  If iTunes Match was working as specified, one of two things would have happened.
If it could match the track, the one in the cloud would be the store copy in AAC/256 format.
If it could not match, it would use your copy, but first transcode it to AAC/256.  (See details in this doc: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4914 )
Either way, you lost the benefit of the 24-bit hi-def audio.

  • Apple TV artwork and Itunes Match

    Hi Folks,
I have recently updated a lot of the album artowork on my itunes on the PC and embedeed this into the files. No issues there.
When i turn on itunes macth on my apple tv i notice it is dispalying some of the old artwork that was previolsu updated to the cloud and not the new artwork.
Is there anyway to update this or is it a case that through scanning, Apple TV will cath up?
Im turned itunes match on my pc off and then on again but so far no joy.
Any help would be grealty appreciated.
    Thanks folks
    Simon.

I think there is a problem. No artwork or playlists show on my Apple TV for itunes match. It actually caused the remote app on my devices to stop connecting to my Apple TV too. As soon as I turned off iTunes Match on Apple TV remote could connect again. Bit crap really. I wish I hadn't gone through the whole saga of resetting the Apple TV / rebooting router. Turning iTunes Match back on still has missing art and no playlists & also blocks remote app. Bloody apple, too many problems these days!

  • Link work iPhone with its own Apple ID to personal iTunes match.

I recently received an iPhone 5c from work.  The phone has its own Apple ID.  How do I link my personal iTunes match with the work phone?
    Harold

    HI
You cannot link your work Apple ID with your own Apple id. Match can only be used with the Apple ID that you used to subscribe to match.

  • Apple TV ( 2&3) - iTunes Match playlist issue

After the latest firmware update none of my ATVs (3 of, 2 ATV2 and 1 ATV3) allow my ITunes Match playlists to be selected using either the ATV remote or iPhone Remote App. When playlists are selected the ATV appears to reset (white LED flashes and connection to iPhone dropped). It is however possible to access playlists successfully using the iPad Remote App??? This ***** as I have my music library stored in the cloud and regularly played music via the ATVs, my son had some of his own playlists which he now gets upset he can't access. Come on Apple sort this out , your loyal customers are getting frustrated by your one step forward & another step back software upgrade program.

Thanks for the advice on how to contact apple.....they don't make it easy!!!!!
However you are incorrect, other people have had this problem, search in iTunes- iTunes Match- discussions for "ITunes crashes when loading playlists on Apple TV".
Interestingly my ATV had an update tonight ( looks like a roll back to me) as the crashing problem has cleared but the previous issue I was having ( and had not reported yet) has reoccurred. The problem is that I have many playlists in ITunes and subsequently in Match however my ATV only shows the first 24 - again frustrating and similarly you can access all the playlists if you connect with iPad remote App but not with the iPhone remote app??

  • HT4914 Can you use iTunes Match on multiple devices with different apple id's ?

I have multiple phones with the same iTunes ID but they have different apple ID , will the iTunes Match work with all my devices ?

I've got the latest version of iTunes & it's supposed to be able to be enabled under top panel "store" then appear down left side panel to subscribe. Which makes me think that it musn't be able to be used if you're running XP as it's not there....
