Apple Lossless vs. AIFF for iPad, etc.

I hope this question is more suitable for this iTunes section (instead of the iPad).
I'm importing songs and recordings from audio CDs (what people call "ripping") that I legally own. I want to carry them around digitally (what people call "archiving") instead of hauling around the physical discs.
And yet I want to retain as much original data as possible. I have several objectives:
1. I want the freedom to not bother touching my physical CDs (by archiving or storing them away).
2. I want the ability to maybe burn CDs if the originals cannot be located.
3. I want to use my iPad to store some of them (in addition to keeping them in dedicated audio/visual hard drive) as well as play them back at the highest fidelity that may involve future technology like iPad to stereo equipment.
So I have two questions:
1. In the iPad, how to read the file size for each item copied over from iTunes?
2. Which is better for my objectives -- Apple Lossless or AIFF?

Yes. If Apple goes out of business tomorrow then your music is all in a proprietary codec. Presumably if that happens your computer will last long enough to convert it to some non-proprietary format such as FLAC (but don't do that yet because iTunes doesn't support FLAC).
Also, am I wrong in assuming that my iPad can store and playback CD-quality audio through high end hi-fi stereo equipment?
I can't really answer this one. I can see articles about streaming from a Mac to an iPad, but not about using an iPad as the source.

Apple don't make any printers, but there are a number of the printers that are AirPrint-enabled, which you should be able to print to just by the printer and the iPad being on the same wifi network - the models that support AirPrint are listed on this page (the page also includes a bit of troubleshooting at the bottom of it) and it includes :
HP Officejet 6500A e-All-In-One E710a
HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-In-One E710n
If your's isn't one of those then you could see if HPs own ePrint app works with it, or there are third-party printer apps such as PrintCentral Pro and Print n Share which might work it

What does Match do to Apple Lossless and AIFF?

I have all my music imported as Apple Lossless. Will I lose quality if I use Match?

Yes, that it what I said :-)
Itunes temporarily converts the file to 256 in order to upload it to Icloud but leaves the ALAC file on your computer HD.
When you play back from your computer where the original file is stored you play the ALAC file.
If you download the file to another Idevice from Icloud you will of course have a 256 file, which should be quite adequate for on the go listening.
EG, When I stream to my hi end home stereo useing squeezebox server through Itunes on my Imac it streams full ALAC files, not 256 files. And I am talking about files which were uploaded to Icloud, NOT matched.
I was very careful to verify this before uploading more than a few files.
I don't want 256 streaming to a 70,000.00 system :-)

Apple, Please simplify Voiceover for iPad!

I am a big fan of the iPad but am very disappointed with the Voiceover feature. Apple touted VO as something that could be used with iBooks to allow for tts functionality on the iPad. I was hoping that meant something similar to Kindle’s text-to-speech feature but unfortunately I was wrong. VO is a far more complicated system than a simple tts like Kindle’s to the point where it is not usable. If you want to use it seems you have to learn a whole new way of operating your iPad. I realize that VO was created as an accessibility feature to aid people with disabilities and for that purpose it may work very well but Apple should not consider this a viable option for those interested in a simple tts for e-reading. It just won’t work for that purpose. It is too difficult to use.
TTS is an extremely useful feature to have on an e-reader and one I find invaluable. If the Ipad is going to “stand on the shoulders of the Kindle” it needs a usable, i.e., simple, tts function.

I agree. While not a feature I would use, I did play with it some on the first day, and found it clunky.

Deploy app from iTunes Store to multiple iPads. Without Apple IDs/iTunes Accounts for iPads.

I can't find a simple answer to this question from Apples flashy "documentation" or from any online straighforward guides.
There is an app called "Articulate Mobile Player" that we want to deploy to our fleet of iPads. These iPads do not have Apple IDs/iTunes Accounts configured for them to access the iTunes store.
We have access to the Apple Configurator for Windows and Trend Micro MDM (Mobile Security and App Management for BYOD).
From what I can ascertain perhaps we need to create VPP account, "purchase" the free app required to gain access to the .IPA file, then either use our MDM solution or Configurator to place the app on devices.
Will we then need an Apple ID/iTunes Account to use the App?
Is there further requirements such as certificates and such? The iPads are configured to use the Trend MDM for app deployment as far as I am aware.
Thanks for the help and hopefully prompt response on exactly what is required for what is a really simple requirement and should not be this complicated.

No, they will do an out-of-warranty replacement of the entire unit for a very high cost. Get a case and cover it up.

No, only audio streaming is possible with apps that support audio playback of video content in background (e.g., the stock YouTube client). As soon as you tap the Home button, display mirroring kicks in. (On the iPad 1, where there's no mirroring, the stream pauses.)

Yes (assuming you have a quality HDMI cable), and with videos over XGA resolution (the iPad 2 only has an XGA-resolution screen), even better.

I would like to ask why apple does not support Whatsapp for Ipad

As a relatively new apple user, i find it difficult to understand as to why apple doesnt support whatsapp for ipad. I am mostly on the go and carry my ipad for business purpose, and as you know, these days social networking is an intergral part of our lives, i find it perplexing as to why ipad doesnt support whatsapp. Almost all of my collegue's and friend are using this, it becomes increasingly diffcult to multitask between a phone and an ipad.
Could Apple kindly make it available for users. It would be really convinient, especially for people in the age group 50+ who would like to be in touch with their families regularly.

Whatsapp is meant for phones, authenticated via the voice carrier link. That's what the developer (nowadays Facebook, who bought the company) decided to do with their app. Hacking that design sounds dangerously against the TOU for discussion in these forums.
You can always search in other message boards outside Apple's regulations for what you want. Regardless, you will need an iPhone to authenticate and activate you Whatsapp account.

Will Apple exchange iPad 2 ( purchased on July 2011) for iPad 3 when it is released ?

I had an iPad 2 GSM which my sister bought for me in the US from Apple retail store. The date of purchase is July 1st and was registered immediately on Apple website. But ... Apple is gonna release iPad 3 this Fall, which ... my iPad 2 will be an old model in just 2 months of using. I think this is not a fair deal if Apple releases iPad 3 with better specs and same price as iPad 2 ( which is not as expected). My question is : will Apple allow to exchange for iPad 3 for recent purchases of their "old" iPad 2 products. If so then how can I get into the process ?
