Apple Macbook Pro ............big failure.

my mac book pro has become a big frustration… i bought a macbook pro in 2008 and from the very begining it has a lot of problems. after all this suddenly in 5 months ago, it started showing me some strange symptoms with completly black out on screen. i did a hardware test on it with DVDs but it showed me theproblem with videos display which is naturaly graphics card and after 4 days of that, it stopped respondin.i took it to apple care centre and they told me the replacement cost of the motherboard about 1000 USD. Which is a lot for a student and for itself macbook for which i had already paid like 2500 USD to purchase and after all this i am having this results,so right now i am big problem with out any computer using school’s computer for exams which has time limit of using it. i tried to Write to mr. Jobs even. but couldn’t find any satisfactory response. i mean is this the apple giving to its customers???
For me…, Apple products which are so expensive to buy if you buy it its so expensive to keep it too. which is alot for a student…. is there any chance of to be heard!!!!!!???????????

hey Man!! thanks for your response! yeah i am thankful to Woz for his reply back. well.. trying to explore the logfiles with the external connection with hard disk.that was the first thing i did!!! explored a lot , but couldn't find any thing!! may be i wasn't good enough in searching. i can give a second try though!
yeah and about the problem with mac bro from starting.
- first there was a issue with the battery, it was in very first week of purchse. and i called apple and they replaced the battery!
- then there was a problem with the screen display! after 7 months of use. so it was under warranty till that time also. and they replced that too!
- there was a issue with battery again. that was also solved.
- i think apple has same kinda policies all over world! as its a known and reputed firm.
and i have searched a lot about such cases. as i mentioned in last post and are done free of cost by apple. i talked with an apple representative in my country and he just said sometimes apple technicians don't give a **** to customer's issue related to the macbook pro and just would tell for a repairing with some little tests. to earn more money and to force people to spend more money!
i am still finger crossed may be someday i could get a justified reply. and i have seen in a lot of cases where apple has extened the warranty period with in US but in my country they are not ready to listen anything. next thing i was thinking of going to consumer court for an appeal for this. because doesn't seems anyway out for me. because till now i have tried to knock every possible door i can. still without any result.
Lets see what would happen next!!

This morning i was not able to hear sound on my recently purchased macbookpro retina 15 inch model.My attempts to resolve this issue by going to system preferences and removing the mute box that was ticked as active. i had downloaded much earlier a mac version of logmein app and noticed that in the sound box noted above that there was a bar indicating that the default was now to logmein. i had never used this app. Why it started today, i have no idea. I moved the logmein application to trash and deleted the app , however it did not remove the default option which still blocked the sound.
Going to a macforum gave the tha anser that to remove the logmein app, it first had to be reinstalled a nd them use the uninstaller option ftrom the dropdown menu. for now that has resolved the failure to allow sound oputput.

There are a lot of MacBook Pros with the model # A1286 - which year is your model (e.g., "15-inch Late 2011")?
The only place that I know that you might could score a specific logic board is www.ifixit.com. They may be able to ship to your hotel.

How Does One Perform Initial Installation of T5 S/W on an Intel-based Apple MacBook Pro?

My old Palm Tungsten T5 died suddenly. I managed to secure an open box T5 from Amazon, and I tried to install on my new Apple MacBook Pro. The Palm software did not complete the install apparently due to the lack of a PowerPC processor. Now my new T5 cannot even read my 2GB SD card.
Is there a work-around for installations using Intel processors on Apple computers?
I am running OS X Lion---not Snow Leopard. I just bought this MacBook Pro less than two months ago, and it's the most modern version.
I saw something of the issues others were having with Snow Leopard, and I wondered whether the same issues carried over to Lion.
If necessary, I can dig my old Windows Vista PC out of storage, but I really like using the Apple laptop and would prefer to use that since I normally use the laptop and PDA on the go.

Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager are not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Palm currently has no plans to release future versions of Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager for Palm OS. Customers do have options with third-party solutions such as The Missing Sync for Palm OS from Mark/Space.

I want to make sure that the new Creative Suite 6 program is compatiable with my apple
computer before i buy it. my mother last year had brought me the creative suite 5 program
for my Dell Desktop computer however, this computer later on crashed and now i am stuck with
the CS5 program my mother brought because, this version of this program she brought is
only for a desktop computer that has a windows operating system not for a apple
computer that has a mac operating system. At the time my mother nor i knew if, i
would be getting a new apple computer plus, i needed the program for school so that i
could work on homework assignments at home. Now i am currently stuck with the
windows version of the CS5 program which i cannot use at all. I tried to install it onto
my apple laptop many times before but, i only ended up getting a error message saying
that the software I had wouldn't install to the computer for some reason unexplained.

Apple MacBook Pro 13" 2012 with OS Mountain Lion ships standard with iWorks?

We recently purchased an Apple MacBook Pro 13" new, but from a recommended third party seller because we needed the 2012 version with OS Mountain Lion on it due to Pro Tools incapatability with Maverick. Our Apple consultant told us that all Laptops ship standard with iWorks, but our college student who we purchased it for, says it is not on the laptop & that no software was included except what was already installed on the laptop. Is this typical now with Apple, that you have to go & download your own software from the ITunes App store? And is there a purchaser's code or something showing that there is no additional charge for the software? Please help! These laptops are expensive & should come with the typical Apple tools & software! Also missing iPhoto, is this the same condition or did the seller rip us off?

Just a caution when reading this forum for ML information ...
Over 3 million have downloaded ML. Count the number of "complaints and b*tching" like some in this thread, and you will find the number in the thousands. Simple math will tell you how many users have enough of an issue, real or imagined, to actually say so. Most users who are happy are too busy just using it to say anything.
Now, as a reminder, you can download ML and load it on an external drive. That way you can play with it to see what issues *you* may have based on your specific uses. Of course external drives will respond more slowly than internal drives, but you should know if certain applications do not open.

I think I found the answer to my question: "May I install my copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on both my Apple Mac Pro and on my recently purchased Apple MacBook Pro?" I think my question was answered in reading the text of the agreement for use of this site in the following:
"You may activate the Software on up to 2 devices (or virtual machines) at a time, if these activations are associated with the same Adobe ID for the same individual, unless stated at http://www.adobe.com/go/activation . However, you may not use the Software on these devices simultaneously."
If this is correct, would you confirm. I know how security conscious Adobe is with their software.

Apple service centre employee told me that they do not have this 14 day offer in India.
And My mac book pro is taken in by Service centre people to run test etc and I will be informed the next day if they accept it as a fault or not ?

No. Firewire and Ethernet are not the same. Ethernet would be used to connect the computers to your network. A Firewire cable is used to connect the computers directly. They are different ports.
