Apple Magic Mouse and Headset

As soonas i run my Apple Magic Mouse together wit my samsung hm3100 my mouse is loosing the connection as soon as i switch of muy head set everything is fine Macbook Pro 17 inch snow 10.6.8
Any idea
Thanx
Frank

Sorry to ressurect a semi-dead thread, but I'm having issues with this as well.  Using my bluetooth headset and bluetooth mouse causes pandora to speed up and slow down all the time (really weird sounding) and then intermittant drops.  I'm on a 2011 macbook pro with 16gb of ram and a 500gb ssd, 2.3ghz i7 etc etc.  I don't really think I'm doing something that outside of the box, i mean I get that there are limits to how much data can be pushed through bluetooth, but you'd think that would be within reach...  Can you prioritize the data such that the sound quality is never affected?  I'd rather my mouse be a bit jumpy than the sound be all funky...

  • Apple Magic Mouse and ID

I've recently purchased the lovely Apple Magic Mouse and am finding it quite difficult to use with InDesign CS4 - other ID versions would be the same I imagine. With this mouse you scroll by stroking its top surface, rather like a trackpad. This is excellent in other applications but in ID, because the pasteboard area is so large and the sensitivity of the mouse so high (even when scrolling is turned down to the minimum in its preferences), it's very easy to make your document shoot sideways off the screen. I expect Illustrator would have similar problems.
Is there a way in which the ID pasteboard can be resized or constrained? Maybe someone will come up with a prefs panel to control the new mouse's scrolling more precisely - but not yet.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    John Mallinson

I agree, it's far too sensitive. The core problem is that we have become so accustomed to resting our fingers on the surface of mice, because they always require a *definite* press, or scroll action. Now the magic mouse is so sensitive to ANY touch that it reacts to touches meant to push the mouse or were not meant to contact the surface of the mouse.
At first I liked it a bit, but the more I use it, I think it's Apple's worst mouse ever. Puck included (at least you could buy a housing to put them in). This mouse doesn't "seem" to track the same as all other wired mice I've ever used. The touch interface is great for vertical scrolling, but as pointed out here, far to sensitive in circumstances where such scrolling is not desired. Perhaps this could be rectified with a *very* comprehensive preference panel, ie one that lets a user specify the amount of scroll or movement required to initiate a swipe/scroll. The Wacom tablet panel has such prefs, for each program and an overall control as well (ie all unspecified apps). My other major complaint against the mouse is the overall shape. It is simple not comfortable or natural. I prefer a more bulbous mouse, since like many of you I imagine, I end up using the back of my palm to "push" the mouse around or rest my fingers on it. The Magic doesn't lend to resting on it at all. I also need to lift it up, or scroll it farther to the side of the screen than the room I have on my mouse surface. With my Mighty Mouse I pick it up by the sides and put it back down somwhere in the center of my mouse area. I have a dual screen setup, and my coworkers all have 24" iMacs, so it can still be a lot of screen space to traverse.
My Magic Mouse was a gift, but I still feel the $70 for it was a waste. I use it primarily because the scroll ball on the Mighty gets dirty fast and does not respond, and at that I rest the Magic next to my keyboard to scroll but still use the Mighty 95% of the time. If Apple would have made the exact same Mighty Mouse but only made the center area where the ball is, a touch sensitive surface, I would be in mouse heaven (they could delineate the area with a small inscribed line or something).
    IMHO big Apple Fail.

  • Apple Magic Mouse and kernel panics?

I bought the new Apple Magic Mouse a few days ago and since day one I am getting random kernel panics. I've switched back to my old Apple Might Mouse and everything seems to work just fine.
    I am using a Macbook Pro 2.4MHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067MHz DDR3.
Apple's Magic Mouse was installed without the 'Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0', cause my MacBook Pro was already running Mac OS X Version 10.6.2 (without any kernel panics).
Here is one of the kernel's panic log file:

Does anyone might have the same problem?
Is it really the Apple Magic Mouse fault?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hello tom:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Be sure you have all the software updates installed:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/wirelessmousesoftw areupdate10forsnowleopard.html
If that does not help, I would contact Apple and ask for a replacement.

  • I bought apple magic mouse and trying to pare it with mac book pro but it says the devise doesn't have necessary services also when if I try to pare it again in 5 mins it says error in connecting ...please help

    please help

It sounds like you have assigned the primary click on the trackpad to something else, perhaps a gesture.
Use your mouse, login and then open the Trackpad preference pane and see how you have the interface configured.
Oh and you can have both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad powered up and working at the same time. No need to keep moving batteries around.

  • Just recently bought an Apple Magic Mouse and noticed that it wiggles from left to right when I hold it a certain way. It does so ever so slightly so I'm afraid that it might be a defective product. I'm really careful and haven't dropped it at all.

Can anybody else replicate this issue? The top polycarbonate plate with the apple logo on top (not the aluminum part) wiggles from left to right ever so slightly when looking at it I noticed it does this. Not typical of any apple products I've ever owned.

Not quite with you, I'm afraid.   Is it the mouse itself which wiggles or is it the cursor on the screen.
I really don't mean offence but the mouse ain't going to wiggle unless you have magical powers   ... but the cursor may, if, for example, the batteries are not solidly seated or connected.   Some are very sensitive and take getting used to.
If it is the cursor, you could try removing and cleaning all contact points and when you replace the batteries make sure they are tightly seated.  Oh, and I forgot to mention; is the green light steady or does it flicker?

  • Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard with Bootcamp and Win XP Pro 32-bit

Does the Apple Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard work with Boot Camp running Windows XP Pro (32-Bit)... I read something leading me to believe there maybe a problem and you need to use a wired USB mouse/Keyboard.
    Is this true?

Apple Wireless Keyboard is able to work in Boot Camp via Window XP Pro, it's good enough.
but the Magic Mouse, it's not able to work completely in Window XP Pro,
it's just work like a normal bluetooth wireless mouse,
all the Multi-Touch features like scroll, rotate, swipe, pinch and tap click are not gonna work,
even you are configure via the snow leopard, so please be reconsider.

  • Premiere Pro CC Update has Apple Magic Mouse Timeline Scrolling Backwards

I've used the Apple Magic Mouse and for thousands of hours on Premiere Pro versions CS5 and CS6 and I just updated to CC.  On the Magic Mouse, I used to press Option and then swipe right on the mouse to zoom in on the timeline and Option + swipe left to zoom out.  Now Option + swipe left zooms in and Option + swipe right zooms out.  It's backwards and it's so annoying.  I've tried searching for a setting to reverse this but no luck.  Anyone else having this issue or found a fix to get the Magic Mouse working the same was as in previous Premiere Pro versions?

I also use Logic for my music/audio production.   In Logic, if you press Option and swipe right it zooms in, and Option + swipe left to zoom out.   Basically the Premiere Pro CC update got this backwards.

  • Apple Magic Mouse best usage

    Hi guys!...
My wife bought me an Apple Magic Mouse and i have a few questions.
I have a Mac Mini under 10.6.4 by the way
I normally left downloading some stuff on my Mac all night long. Is it best to leave the Magic Mouse on or off?... If i turn it off... How can i connect again without reconnecting a USB mouse?... If i turn the mouse off without disconnecting it from the bluetooth icon, is there a risk on hardware damage?
    Thanks so much!!!

The mouse should turn off automatically. You can just press the power button and hold it until a message appears on the Mac saying "Connection Lost" or "Trackpad Off". It does not damage the hardware.
    Hope that helps.

  • Macbook Pro (Early 2011) not recognizing Apple Magic Mouse

OK, so I recently bought a MacBook Pro (Early 2011 Model) and I cant get my Magic Mouse to connect to the Bluetooth. This laptop is used, but I bought it from a Apple reseller and they told me that it was refurbished and that there should not be anything that is not working. Anyways, when I turn on my Apple Magic Mouse and go to Bluetooth or Mouse in the System Preferences, I don't see anything at all just the loading circle. It will not appear. I have tried doing the trick of holding Command+Option+P+R on startup like some people have suggested but that doesn't seem to change anything. I also brought it to the Apple store and the associate connected the mouse to one of the computers there, so I know that my mouse is working. Is there a way to tell if the Bluetooth in my laptop needs to be replaced? if so, can it be replaced easily without a big cost?

    Hi kbridea1,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your MacBook Pro isn’t recognizing your Magic Mouse but other devices are able to recognize it. The article linked below provides a lot of great troubleshooting suggestions that will resolve most issues like the one you’ve described.

  • Using Apple Magic Mouse With Windows 7 64 bit and Parallels Desktop 8 questions

I will be getting an iMac in the coming months and installing Parallels Desktop 8 and Windows 7 64 bit.
I was wondering if I would have the functions of been able to left click, right click, scroll (preferably vertically but also occasionally horizontally) with the Apple Magic Mouse when I'm running Windows 7 through Parallels Desktop 8?
I just wondered if anyone has installed Parallels Desktop 8 and Windows 7 and have you been able to do what i mentioned above and also have you come across any other issues, problems whilst using the Apple Magic Mouse on the Windows side?
If there is any problems/issues with doing the above, is there anything I will need to do to get the above functionality to work?
    Thanks in advance.

    The same with the trackpad!
Sometimes scrolling is a bit too fast, becuase Win 7 isn't made to use with the Magicmouse or trackpad.
The only thing i miss / doesn't work ist the middle mouse button!
Thanks very much for the help stz-42 its much appreciated.
Providing I can left click, right click, scroll, then that's OK for me as I will be spending the vast amount of my time on the Mac side.
Are you able to scroll both horizontally and vertically when using Parallels 8 Win 7 64 bit on your iMac?

Is the green light showing?   Is it steady or flickering?  You should try re-setting the SMC.
