Apple Mail - "Add to Aperture" needed.

An omission in Mail? It would be nice to see an option, when receiving photos or videos to "Add to Aperture" as well as "Add to iPhoto." Seems Aperture 3 is relegated to being the stepchild of iPhoto with this half-hearted integration.

I myself absolutely don't feel the need to import images that people mail to me, why not just keep them in the Finder?
A great many serious and pro photographers will agree with you.
But.
Now that Aperture 3 is being heavily marketed as an app for folks outgrowing iPhoto then such folks will expect that features they take for granted in iPhoto to be also present in Aperture.
I think you might be able to make a service with Automator that will do the job for you. Otherwise:
Aperture menu -> Provide Aperture Feedback

  • Un-installing apple mail add on

    Hi
i have some apple mail add-ons that was disabled after my last update to system so from where i can find and remove them as they don't appear in applications folder ?

Many add-ons (like GPGMail) go in your user account Library/Mail/MailBundles and will land up in your user account Library/Mail/MailBundles (Disabled). At least that's where I think they go, I recently cleaned out a broken-by-10.6.6 GPGMail so the path may not be right but it's got "Bundles" and "Disabled" in its name.
One other thing that I have found that I had to do was trash my Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist which was a hassle because of the customization with the toolbar and accounts that gets blown away. The work-around for that, for in the future, is that before you add any mail add-ons, is to make a copy of your user account Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist before you add your add-on. That way, when an update breaks your add-on, you trash the MailBundles (Disabled) folder and the current com.apple.mail.plist and copy the old com.apple.mail.plist.saved back to the com.apple.mail.

  • Mail, Add To Aperture

Has anyone whose upgraded to Mavericks noticed if Mail has added an Add To Aperture feature for saving/importing photos from Mail directly into Aperture?
Similar to the Add To iPhoto feature that already exists in Mountain Lion?

Actually, since iPhoto and Aperture now share the same library, adding the photo to iPhoto by definition makes the photo available under Aperture as well.
But only, if you have opened the Aperture Library as the current iPhoto Library. If you are using iPhot and aperture on different libraries, to be able to compare two photo libraries opened at the same time, you are out of luck.
In Mail, there is a Save pull down menu. Did Mavericks add Aperture?
I don't see these menus any more in Mail.app in Mavericks, only the contextual menu I have shown in the screenshot. To save an attachment, I ctrl-click the attachment. And then I can "Export to iPhoto", but not to the current Aperture library - unless it happens to be the iPhoto library as well, as Rex Ross pointed out.

  • Apple mail mountain lion keeps needing to be restarted

I have a new Macbook air with mountain lion installed. I have four Imap email accounts set up, three are gmail or google apps, one an opera fastmail account. If i leave the machine alone for a while all the account connections drop out and will only reconnect after mail has been quit and restarted.
I guess a good place to start would be the log files - but where are they?

    The logs are here:
About This Mac (under the Apple logo in the menu bar) > More Info > System Report > Logs (quite a way down, under Software)

  • How can I email over 200 notes from my Apple Mail to that of a friend?

I helped someone recreate all their notes to work in Apple Mail and now simply need to get the notes from my Mac to their Mac. More details below. Thanks in advance. I've searched extensively on a solution to this and haven't found anything.
    - Garth
Dragging/dropping all the notes into a new email doesn't work.
Seems like I can attach to an email a single note at a time, but there are related issues:
-- The resulting attachments have an email-style icon which I find a little strange.
-- If I try to open such a sample note attachment in my draft email, it sometimes works (showing a proper, yellow note), it sometimes gives me a "Mail was unable to save the attachment..." error, and it sometimes opens it in a raw text format showing all the related codes/data.
-- At one point, I edited a note I had attached to a draft email and the attachment automatically appeared in my notes list even though I hadn't dropped it in there.
I don't see any other export option. "Archiving" isn't like exporting - it removes them from my Reminders/Notes view and archives them (for me) on a remote GMail server, it seems.
I don't know what to make of the "Forward" option -- it takes all the text from all the notes and drops it into the body of a single email. Is there a way for that to be rebuilt into individual notes for the recipient?
I don't have to use an iOS device for this, do I? I can if needed. I don't see a quick way to email many notes off my iphone to the recipient's email address. (I have iCloud; the recipient does not - they're doing all syncing via USB cable only.)

I assume this is a 1st gen and not the newer models (black box). In any case it is not meant to be used as a storage device and thus no easy way to retrieve

  • Apple Mail Rules dont apply when mail is READ on other devices!

    Hi,
I use IMAP settings on Apple Mail (v4.5) and also check my emails on the iPhone (iPhone also set up with IMAP). However if i have read an email on the iPhone then when i switch my computer on the incoming Apple Mail Rule that applies to that sender does not seem to work. It keeps the mail within my Inbox and does not transfer the mail/message to the desired folder.
However, if the same sender sends me an email which i do not read on the iPhone and then switch my Apple Mail ON, then the mail is automatically transferred to the desired folder.
It looks like the problem is only with READ mail and not UNREAD mail.
Is there a fix for this? There seems to be a lot of people having the same issue and was wondering if there is any work around on this?
Would really appreciate any help from anyone on this.
    Regards,
    Jay
PS: I recently moved from Outlook 2011 on MAC to Apple Mail as i heard is a far superior mail application and works smoothly. So far everything about Apple Mail has been correct, it is a fantastic app, however this Rule problem is pretty basic and surprised that Apple still has not fixed this.

    Hi Glenn,
Many thanks for this. Unfortunately i dont have this facility on the server as we are using a simple opensource mail delivery and storage service, so the rules would have to be set up on the computer.
I was using Outlook 2011 and prior that was using Entourage 2008 and both worked well with the IMAP rules. Nothing was ommitted and everything READ or UNREAD was imported and the rules applied. It's only in Apple Mail that these rules dont seem to work.
Is there no other work around? No Apple Mail Add-Ins? I see quite a number of people complaining about the same problem and i'm surprise that Apple has not found a solution for this.
Anyway, thank you soo much for your reply. Much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jay

  • Apple Mail  outgoing message exceeds ISP size limit?

A short e-mail with a 16MB attachment sent via Apple Mail was rejected because, at 21.9MB, it exceeded the 20MB limit from ISP Verizon.
Same e-mail and attachment sent from the same computer across the same ISP via G-mail had no problem.
Does Apple mail add 6MB of overhead to a message?
    How can I fix that?

If the attachment is a picture or equivalent, it may be being displayed as such in the body of the email message. This could increase the size of the message as sent.
If that is the kind of attachment, try right-clicking (or Control-clicking) on it in the New Message window; from the contextual menu that appears, select "View as Icon".
    Then test.

  • Apple mail blocking my personal email

From last night, every email that I send or forward to my icloud account from my personal mail account is getting blocked as spam.
Has anyone else had this problem? My personal account is with QiQ (UK).
I have been using my icloud address for over a year to successfully receive notifications from my NAS that my backup was successful.
    Not any more... :-)

The problem is likely this file...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
If you need to save any eMails in that account, then...
First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist

  • I need to get a copy of my childs incoming and sent yahoo mail in Apple mail without it being able delete on either end to affect both?

How can I get a copy of my childs incoming and sent yahoo IMAP address e-mails in Apple Mail? It has to be without each being able to affect the other meaning ( if something is deleted in one it doesn't affect the other).
I did previously add my childs yahoo e-mail account to Apple mail but did not Sync it. But, as soon as I deleted an e-mail in Apple mail it did so in my childs yahoo mail & and vise versa. Is there another way I am missing?
Thanks in advance for your help it is much needed!

  • How do i add a LinkedIn badge to Apple Mail signature

Does someone know how to add popular badges (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) to Apple Mail signatures.  Just badge icon with a hyperlink to my profile.

Actually I just figured it out.  Within your public profile on LinkedIn is an area for LinkedIn badges on right side.  Click there and it will display several types of badges.  Right click on the badge you want to use and do a "save as" to desktop.
Now go into Mail preferences, signatures.  Copy and paste the icon you've saved to your desktop wherever you would like the badge to display within your signature.  Then go to Edit on top menu and select "add link".  This will open a box where you need to fill in your LinkedIn address that displays right below your profile photo.  Save this.
This will turn the badge into a hyperlink that will connect to your LinkedIn Profile.  To test it, create a new email using this signature and do a test send.  When you receive the test email click on the badge to confirm that it takes you to your LinkedIn Profile.
    Good luck!

  • How to add a photo to Apple Mail signature...? (he asks laughably)

Since the sender's Address Book photo is not included with emails sent
(even 'though Apple Mail makes it look like they are),
how can you add a personal photo to a Mail signature?
OR, is there another means of including a personal photo with every email sent?
**** How many people have asked for this feature / capability?  More than 10,000?
    Thx.

How many people have asked for this feature / capability?  More than 10,000?
As a matter of fact I have never seen it mentioned before. Perhaps only a few people need such an ego-trip every time they send an email.
The normal way is to add a photo within the text or as an attachment. The Signature only handles thumbnails.
But you can send your suggestion to Apple via their feedback link:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
It will be read but you will not receive a reply.

  • 1.) How do you find the dictionary in Apple Mail Program?  2.) How do you add another dictionary?

1.) How do you find the dictionary in Apple Mail Program?  2.) How do you add another dictionary?

    Hello James!
I do not have any ABAP Instance, only the JAVA one.
Therefore the ABAP transactions are quite useless.
The problem tables are created by people working on the CAF layer.
They have developed and deployed some homemade applications and this is leftovers from their development in some kind of way.
    Anyone with any ideas?
Could it be that (yet) some special Portal Dictionary Role needs to be asigned to the Administrator?

  • How to add a normal attachment in my apple mail?

Apple mail is so slow when I want to add attachment to my message. I think the reason is that when I add eps file or other files, apple mail does not simply add it, but integrating it into my context. But I don't need it to do that. And because the process is so slow(my eps file is kind of large...), it wastes a great amount of my time doing it. So far I'm satisfied with other functionalities of this software so I really don't want to give it up easily.
So, any one know if there is a simple way to add a normal attachment into apple mail message? Like what we usually do in any other email client? Thanks.

Try turning them into a zip file before attaching. From Finder Help:
Compress and uncompress files and folders
Compressed files take up less disk space than uncompressed files, so compressing is useful for making backup copies of your data or for sending information over the Internet.
To compress a file or folder, Control-click it or tap it using two fingers, and then choose Compress from the shortcut menu.If you compress a single item, the compressed file has the name of the original item with the .zip extension. If you compress multiple items at once, the compressed file is called Archive.zip.
To uncompress (expand) an item, double-click the .zip file.

  • HT204093 I can't add an Exchange (outlook) mail to Apple Mail

Hi community, I've been able to add Gmail addresses via 'internet accounts' to be used with Apple Mail app, but my outlook addresses don't work. The setup process asks for the server address and nothing seems to work, I've tried: m.hotmail.com, s.outlook.com the smpt & imap server addresses, but nothing. Mail doesn't sync in the app. Please advice ! I'm using OSX 10.9.5 on my macbook & 10.10.2 on my imac.
I want to switch to Mail as Outlook 2011 is driving me crazy: the beach balloon keeps on appearing which freezes the application & i constantly have to re-enter my passwords for Outlook addresses. Gmail in general works fine.

Exchange (Outlook) mail is for businees use or you do have a Office 365 subscription.

Exchange (Outlook) mail for private use  see:

You don't need Exchange (Outlook) mail for private use, how to add your outlook addresses:

You can also add your ISP mailaccount to Mac Mail.
Mail  >>  Preferences >>  Accounts tab.
Click the button to Add another email account  >>  Continue.
At the most ISP you can choose for IMAP setting (that is what I did).
Then you do have to configure manually.

  • Can't add Gmail (POP) accounts to Apple Mail

I noticed a day before the 10.5.7 update that my existing gmail accounts in Mail suddenly stopped retrieving mail, giving "a server not responding" message. So I delete the accounts and try to add again. And again, pop server not responding. This was all on 10.5.6 mind you, and yes all my settings are correct under google settings.
10.5.7 was released and I seen in the notes that there was a problem with gmail and Apple Mail in the past (no problems for me but I only used POP). So, like always, I repair disk permissions, download the full combo update and install. After install, like always, I repair disk permissions again before doing anything else.
Same thing. Can't add my POP gmail accounts to Apple Mail. POP server not responding

I have just experienced the same issue with a gmail account I setup in Mail when I bought my first Macbook 2 years ago. I've never had any problems with the gmail POP server before, until last night July 26th 09. Then suddenly a couple of minutes after successfully retrieving the emails as usual, it tried again and failed, asking for the password. I entered the password, but still came back saying POP server not responding.
I did some updates yesterday, but nothing more than the one for the pro apps. I'm completely up to date with all Leopard updates. Also I've double checked that all is working with my gmail account and settings; no change in settings or password were made.
Do I need to delete the account in Mail and recreate it from scratch, then, is that the only answer when this error seems to occur out of the blue?
