Apple Mail not received by Optonline etc.

I send and receive mail using Apple Mail program with several email accounts (Comcast, Gmail, Mac/Me) I have a couple people who never get my email if I send using Mail, but if I send using Gmail's web browser interace, it works.  I have Mail setup so it is not formatted text. I have no known problems with 99% of my email contacts.
The two people can send me stuff fine but my reply or fresh email to them never arrives and never gets bounced back, so neither of us know that something went wrong. Just goes into oblivion. Only way I know is I ask them if they got the email and they say no.
They use Optonline and Network Associates for their ISP, and botha re lcoated on East Coast.
Are there settings on my end to make my outgoing email more friendly to picky ISP or email cleitns on their end??

you are doing everything just right.
it sounds like the problem is on the receivers end, they may have a setting that is preventing this. you isolated it by stating you sent the email to yourself with the quoted text, and the quoted text showed up fine. you are good to go, the receivers need to do the troubleshooting.

  • Apple Mail not receiving Gmail replies

I've been using Apple Mail with one of my Gmail accounts and it seems that for some reason its not picking up personal emails that are being sent to me as a reply? I'm still receiving corporate emails such as twitter, soundcloud etc. but there is no sign of the replies that are being sent from friends and colleages. When i log into the actual Gmail site there is no trace of the email i sent being sent either aswell as the no trace of any email being received.
Connection doctor is green for every other account accept for this one in which it says 'Trying to log in to this SMTP acount failed. Verify that username and password are correct' and i know 100% that the password and username aren't the problem.
    Thanks in advance

Hi there. I'm using Apple Mail 6.2 on Mountain Lion. I haven't had any issues with it when I installed ML when it came out but now I'm not receiving mail. I can still send mail out though. Is anyone else experiencing this? And is there something I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance!

  • Apple Mail not receiving emails after OS X update 10.6.7

    Hello,
I have a strange problem. Apple mail has stopped receiving incoming messages after I did a software update of OS X 10.6.7. Outgoing mail is working fine.
Funnily enough the same settings are still working on my Iphone where I continue to receive incoming email.
I performed a rebuild on the mail and have done a combo update as well without any success.
    Please help!!
    Thank you

  • Attachments in Apple Mail not received by addressee.  Same attachment sent via Google mail received ok.  Why?

I sometime need to send attachments such as pegs to a Uscg.mil address.  The attachments do not show up to the addressee, and it is probably due to a security firewall on the military side.  However, the same attachment goes through fine if sent using web mail (Gmail).  There must be some difference in the way Apple embeds an attachment that causes it to be rejected by the military security firewall.  Any thoughts on this?

Did you ever find a solution to your problem sending email with attachments? I am getting the same message  - "please select a different server" when I try to send emails with attachements...VERY FRUSTRATING...!

  • Apple Mail not received as sent to Outlook

I am puzzled. I send a reply to an email, and the receiving party only receives what I typed, not their original email appended at the bottom. I highlighted the original post, which I thought meant it would be included. This is NOT an attachment, but in the body of the email. The receiving party uses Outlook for the PC. The receiving party is actually several email addresses. I have included myself in the To: and I receive the entire email as I sent it with the original email. The other parties do not. My mail server is Gmail, as is my address. In my Preferences, Composing, Responding, I have both "Quote the text of the original message" and "Include all of the original message text" selected. Can someone direct me to solve this problem? Thanks!

  • TS3276 Someone who receives my mail sent from Apple Mail cannot receive attachments or read my email even though they are on a Mac using Safari.  How could they be using Safari to receive or read my mail?

Someone who receives my mail sent from Apple Mail cannot receive attachments or read my email even though they are on a Mac using Safari.  How could they be using Safari to receive or read my mail?

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.  This person receiving my email,  while on a Mac with Safari is reading their mail through Safari using Horde--our recent discovery.  Why they chose to do that in unclear. The last email we sent, however, was miraculously read and received and  the attachment was viewed with no problem after we told them our mail was coming from a Mac thriugh Apple Mail.  It seems that telling them that our emails were coming from a Mac and using Apple Mail was enough to make them think that perhaps THEY were doing something not quite right. Thank you both, Level 7 and Level 5.
But thank you especially for the meteorologists in the UK for putting forth the correct routes for Sandy these last days, you probably saved a lot of lives.

  • TS3276 Help in setting Apple Mail to receive and send mail via Yahoo mail service

I would appreciate help in setting up Apple Mail to receive and send e-mails via Yahoo.   Thank you

    Sorry,
Have you tried the connection doctor? In Mail menu bar under Window connection doctor, this will usually let you know where the problem might be.

  • Blackberry notes sync with Apple mail notes

When I sync my blackberry it says that the notes sync with the Apple mail notes, but I cannot find the Apple mail notes. How do I access them??
    Thank you.

I had the same problem. It actually syncs the memos to Mail. Open Mail from your computer, and on the left side there should be drop menus called: Mail, Reminders, and RSS. On mine, Reminders was closed, so I dropped it, and there was another menu called "Notes", and viola! There were all the Blackberry Notes, ready to go! It's literally saved in "Apple Mail Notes".

  • Apple mail not showing all the messages?

In Apple mail, for my icloud account, I have some mailboxes which show the wrong number of messages, it shows too few.
As an example, a mailbox contains 150 messages, but apple mail reports there are only 146.
I rebuilt the mailbox and let apple mail do its thing. In the activity window I can see there are 150 messages. Yet, once apple mail has finished rebuilding the mailbox, it still tells me there are 146 messages. What's going wrong? Why would apple mail not show all the messages while in the activity window it clearly shows it knows there are 150?

    Solved!
This was too weird to be real. Apple mail does not show messages it believes to be duplicates, and buy, does it make big mistakes in deciding what are duplicate messages and what not! Some of my mailboxes had over 100 "duplicates" not showing according to apple mail.
I found a solution thanks to this topic:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18265121#18265121
    defaults delete com.apple.mail AlwaysShowDuplicates
does yield an error in 10.8.2 ( Domain (com.apple.mail) not found. Defaults have not been changed. )
defaults write com.apple.mail AlwaysShowDuplicates -bool true
    Does work brilliantly though!

  • Access Apple Mail notes outside of Mail itself

Does anyone know if there is a program that simply lets you view/edit your Apple Mail notes OUTSIDE of Apple Mail? I just can't wrap my head around opening my email client to write random notes. I can't seem to find anything.
    Thanks!

    Ah Thank You, [ Jeffery Jones2 ] !
I now remember stumbling across this and wondering why I was in Mail and not Finder when I entered Time Machine a while back. <hehe> Now I get it!
Easy restoration of my Mail Notes! All is well again now that I verified iTunes sync is turned "off" and that the MobileMe sync is turned "on"—no more conflicts.
