Apple mail Notification - Unread email notification to show on the top?

Does anyone know if I can have the unread email notification for Apple mail show on the top menu bar, perhaps amongst the icons like battery indicator, airport ect.? I have my dock setting to hide and I would like to see how many messages I have unread w/o having to pull up the dock. Any ideas?
Thanks

Mail Unread Menu ➚ does this, but the reviews ➚ on MacUpdate seem to imply some instability.

  • How do I get my unread emails to be displayed at the top?

I would like my unread emails to be displayed at the top of my list of emails when I am in Thunderbird. It seems like this should be easy to do, but I can't figure out how.

From the Menu Bar select View-Sort By and select the option that works for you. As mentioned above clicking any column header makes that the primary sort column. Clicking that same header a second time reverses the sort.
There is a Read/Unread column that is normally just after the Subject column. You can use that to select that column to sort on.

  • I had the problem of the Apple Sync Notifer.exe showing up every time I signed in.  I finally found it and deleted it and it is in my recycle bin but I am a bit nervous about totally deleting it.   Does anyone know if it is ok to completely delete??

I had a problem with the Apple Sync Notifer.exe showing up every time I signed in.  I finally found a location and
deleted it and it went into my recycle bin.  I was going to clean out the recycle bin and it asked if I really wanted to
delete the Apple Sync Notifer.  I am wondering if it is safe to clear it or did I make an error and should keep it??

Windows 7 can't run on Powerbooks.  The name of the computer is under the display on the frame.   Are you running some software in Boot Camp, or another virtualization engine?

  • E-mail notifications not showing on lock screen

A  few days ago my e-mail notifications stopped showing up on my lock screen and the banners disappeared from when using my iphone too. I've already check the settings in the notification centre and they are set ok, just not working. What do I do?

Try doing a reset on your iPhone,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back.

  • Apple Mail puts a email in "DRAFTS" after I send it?

Whenever I send a email thru Apple Mail using my Gmail account, it will put the email in the DRAFTS folder. How do I keep this from happening?
I have 3 email accounts that I use in Apple Mail and the Gmail one is the only one that does this.

Well if you have no draft mailbox list in the Mailbox folder, then it's obvious that it's not creating one for that account or any other, meaning it's putting the drafts in the IMAP draft folder. You may have some corruption within the Mail folder or preferences.
    Try this out:
Select the draft folder under that gmail account in the sidebar, then go to Mailboxes in the menu and select Use This Mailbox for: drafts. That should move the draft folder from the gmail folder to Mail's main draft mailbox.
Open Mail's preferences and check to see that the box to store messages on the server is checked.
Create and save a test draft message. Verify that it's also saved at the gmail website (should also appear in the draft folder under gmail account at sidebar bottem). Once that's done, go back into Mail's preferences and uncheck to store drafts on the server. That should move the draft mailbox back under the gmail folder. Save the changes.
Quit and restart Mail and verify Mail's preferences remain unchecked for storing drafts on the server.
Create a new message and save as draft. Verify that it is not saved to the gmail draft folder in the sidebar bottem or gmail website.
If all's OK from there, delete the test drafts you created. Once again highlight the Inbox and quit Mail. Restart Mail and the draft folder should not appear in the sidebar. It will still appear on the toolbar if you have it showing (to show, select Show Toolbar in Mail's menu under View).
Create a test message and send. See if that works. Hopefully, it will fix whatever preference files is stuck.

  • Is there a way to view my mail by unread emails?

Is there a way to search my email by unread emails ?

Yes. In the Mailboxes list, tap Edit. You will find an option for "Unread". Tap it to select it, then tap Done. This will give you a view of unread emails accros all of your accounts. There are also a few other options you might find useful, particularly if you are using IMAP accounts with a multiple folders.

  • Make the emails do not show in the ipad or iPhone after i read them in my macbook air

make the emails do not show in the ipad or iPhone after i read them in my macbook air

Assuming you're using Apple's Mail on your Mac, go to your Mac's mail Preferences (from Mail on the menu bar).
Click Accounts on top, then click your email account on the left.
Then click Advanced on the top.
Check "remove copy from server after retrieving a message" and set the line below it to "immediately".
    That will do it.

Someone may have entered your address with the BCC: (blind carbon copy) option so the mail is sent to you but your address doesn't appear in the header.

  • My events photo albums have all been renamed with a number followed by IMPRT instead of the date which was how they were originally named. Also the photo now showing on the top of each folder is not actually in that folder. How do I restore?

My events photo albums have all been renamed with a number followed by IMPRT (deleting the date on which they were taken) Also the photo now showing on the top of each folder is taken from a different event and so is not actually in the album it is sitting on top of. This happened when I linked to itunes. Any idea how to restore it to how it looked before?

One thing that I find odd is that iTunes used to rebuild the .itl file when you deleted it.  It seems as if the newer iTunes somehow broke this old capability.  If you delete the .itl file it can't rebuild it- it simple treats this as if this is a fresh installation and completely ignores the fact that the .xml file has all the data in it.  I think Apple needs to bring back this old "feature".  Of course, the negative with that was that you lost all of the "Date Added" info along with some other stuff but at least it still kept the favorites info etc. (and I think maybe even the path although I don't believe I ever tried that because my account path has never changed until now).
One side note: I can't find where the iTunes Windows SDK is.  I was hoping to try to use that to access the .itl "database" and write a utility to fix this situation.  Seems like this has moved from its original location...

See if you can manage your Apple ID and change the primary email account to the correct address, as explained here: Change your Apple ID.  Then verify the address.
