Apple map still does not show traffic

Hi there,
I have the same issues with my 4S, can anybody help? :(
The maps just turned a beidge color and slightly green when it set into standard mode, but it's just fine with hybrid & satellite modes.
Oh, the photo maps also appears as the maps on standard mode.

    I'm happy you figured it out and just try to keep in mind that not everyone you talk to at support will give the same advice or have the same knowledge. Just like those who contribute to these forums. Sometimes Google is your best friend.
    I agree that Apple could probably make it easier, but as of yet prefer security over freedom. (sound famaliar?)

    RESPONSES:
    1)   When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC.  I simply used the same iTunes login and account.  I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store.  If I click "Download Previous Purchases"  text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
    2)   I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered.  I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam.  Good response for you.  Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome.  I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
    QUESTIONS:
    3)   So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download?  Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

    I work in the computer support section for the Military.  The only problem is we use Windows , lol.  Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover.  I go back next month though I hope.  But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein.  Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself.

  • Apple Mail STILL does NOT sync with GMAIL...even with Mavericks 10.9.2...why?

    Apple MAIL still does not sync well with Gmail.
    I have to close Apple Mail program down, re-load it, select "synchonize all accounts." Then MAYBE it will finally sync up. If not, I do this again and again. Then, randonmly it seems, it finally syncs.
    My iOS devices sync instantly and accurately 100% of the time. When I pull down the inbox to update, it does so almost at once. Accurately.
    WHY does Mavericks APPLE MAIL have so many issues STILL!? Worked fine before Mavericks? Is there a solution?

    I'm not sure if you were seriously asking or just looking for a place to vent, but I've read a lot about this topic and so I'll give a brief reply.
    Unfortunately, I've not seen a solution to this problem. Many people have had success with various "voodoo" solutions (re-starting or some variant) but there's really been no reliable, consistent answer to this problem. Most people seem to think that syncing was improved (but was not completely fixed) with the 10.9.2 update. The only "solution" I've seen is to move off of GMail.
    As to WHY this is happening, well, again I've not seen anybody diagnose the problem in any scientific way, but the consensus seems to be that this problem started because Apple modified the way the Mail program stored and indexed a GMail account. Many people (including you) say "it worked fine before" and yes perhaps it did, but there was a big problem lurking.
    As you might know, Google moved off the mail standard when they created their mail system. Now, this is a rant for another post, but IMO by doing that they should have provided code for 3rd-party mail clients to use their new mail system properly. But of course that would defeat any competitive advantage their own client had, so instead all they did was support an IMAP interface.
    The problem is that when an email arrives at your GMail account, it is in your Inbox and also in the "All Mail" folder. This is not in concert with IMAP protocol where a message is only in one folder. So a naive IMAP email client downloads such a message twice. If a message happens to be in a several folders (tags in GMail-speak), an IMAP client downloads it several times. It might have looked like it was "working fine" to you, but for people who have many gigabytes of mail, this duplication is a big problem.
    Likewise, if you search for an email, an unaware IMAP client will find it in multiple folders, and report back each copy. Anyway, you get the idea. Apple tried to improve their Mail client to support this, and unfortunately they have a big bug. Well, I say "big" because it really annoys me. Apparently it must be not be affecting a large percentage of Mavericks users or else they would have fixed it by now. Even more annoying, there's no "switch" to get Mail to act like a dumb IMAP client again. It appears to detect that it is talking to GMail and this new system kicks in automatically. (Perhaps this could be tricked by using some kind of proxy?)
    So why is this not happening on iOS? Well, again, nobody knows for sure (and Apple isn't saying), but the theory is that they didn't implement this complex scheme on iOS (yet). Maybe they were first testing it out on Mavericks, or perhaps they didn't think it was worth the trouble because on iOS the Mail caches are typically much smaller. On a desktop machine, usually there is a copy of all your IMAP mail sitting on the disk. On a mobile device, only a few messages are kept around at any time.

    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
    The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if a component such as Apple Mobile Device Support won't install normally.

    Try publishing to a local folder and double clicking the index.html file to launch your site in the browser direct from your hard disk to see if the map works.

    Got the same problem. Ios6 maps is the worst maps application for me. What is the point having a map and don't give navigation. APPLE PLEASE GIVE US THE GOOGLE MAPS BACK. why don't they give us the option to choose from these two map application. Ill go for google maps because it got much more POI than apple maps. Please do something for this otherwise I'm gonna loose interest on my 4S

  • I add components to contentPane, but JFrame still does not show them

    I converted a small game I was making from AWT to Swing.(The game is just MineSweeper.) I made all the necessary adjustments like, Button to JButton and add() to getContentPane().add(), but when I show the JFrame, it does not show any components that I added. I have run test programs to see if I am adding the components correctly and they work.
    I print out the number of components contained in the frame by using getComponentCount() and the number is correct. It just will not show up in the JFrame. I have tried everything I can think of, no matter how strange and it still will not show the components.
    I have attached all the code to the bottom of this message. Can someone please take a look and see what I am missing.

    setBounds() is only used for absolute positioning. I
    am using layout managers, so it should no be used.

  • Apple map does not show traffic

    Since switching to apple maps from google maps no traffic colors show on map

    I noticed new map show no color at all when it's not slow or jammed.
    It use to be ( in Google map)
    No color= no data( don't know jammed or not)
    Green = no jam
    Amber= slow
    Red= stop&amp;go
    Now we don't know if "traffic okay" or "no data" because those are same "no color"
    If nothing show on your map, it could be no traffic jam(red) nor slow(amber).
    Try checking it on rush hour.
    I can't trust new map's traffic info because it could be " no data" could be smooth driving.

  • Apple TV 3 does not show movie rentals in standard definition

    I am a bit surprized as I have now ATV1 and ATV3 and I compare both of them onthe same TV. I noticed that iTunes rental store shows icon to rent the same movie in SD and HD on older ATV (1st gen), but on new one it offers only HD version of the same movie ("A Christmas Story"). Why is that?   Some may want to save some money on those older movies that do not require HD.
    Is this how it is supposed to work or there is an option to be enabled?

    To what?
    My old ATV1 shows SD movies in any resolution. I hope you know that ATV 1 was already 1080 (even though hardware was not strong enough and it overheated). That is only ATV2 was downgrade to 720p.
    So why would I change resolution to see store SD offering? Your recomendation does not make sense.
    Any other idea?

    i've changed my apple id for itunes through my macbook air, but when i try to log in to itunes on my iphone the old id comes up and i'm not able to log in

    So update it on your phone as well to the new ID
