Apple maps and Find Friends show no map data

Hi,
I have recently lost all my map data from Apple Maps, and find friends on my iphone. All satellite images are still there, just no maps! However on my ipad it all works. Both are on the same icloud account.
Any suggestions.
I have an iphone 4S running iOS 6.0., and an ipad3 running iOS 6.0

Double tap Home button and delete Maps from multitask-bar.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.

This indicates the device is in recovery mode.
Connect it to a computer running iTunes and restore it.

I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.

I have geofences setup in Apple Store and Find My Friends apps I can't remove

I have geofences set in the Apple Store app and Find my Friends and I can't clear either one of them. Is there a way to do this??

What evidence do you have that you cannot clear these?
Have you tried turning them off in Settings > Privacy > Location Services?

Question on Shared iCloud account and Find Friends

My wife and I share a common iCloud account on our iPhones because we want to share calendars, contacts, etc. I recently upgraded to IOS 8 and it seems to have changed how Find Friends works. Since Find Friends uses the main iCloud account as identifying "Me", both phones cannot independently report their location (i.e, if I set phone #1 to "share my location from" from phone #1, then the share location on phone #2 is set to phone #1 since the same iCloud is used on both phones).
I thought that I had this working correctly prior to the upgrade, but maybe I am misremembering. Was there a way in prior versions to set up different apple ID's for Find Friends (like you can for Messages and FaceTime) so that it didn't force you to use the main iCloud account?

And the Mac is connected to Wifi? Also, when you say the Find My iPhone "tab" doesn't locate any devices, want to make sure that you mean the Find My iPhone icon on the iCloud website on the Mac:

Who updates Apple Maps data

I have repeatley updated pin locations in the desktop version of Apple Maps. At least one or two everyday and have'nt seen a single pin moved. I'm just curious to where this data goes as it clearly doesn't get read or seen

My sentiments exactly. Apple's plan was to fix all the data errors by crowd sourcing. It appears they neglected to plan for actual input from said "crowd".
I've reported errors to Google (Maps), I recieved email when I made the request and another email when they completed it.

Setting Find iPhone for one account and find Friends for another

Just updated one iPhone 5 to 8.1.1. Previously I had find my iPhone for one .me account (I keep all the family devices under this .me account).
For the Find Friends app I had used a second .me account so I could locate the phone.
I can't recall how I configured this previously. It seems settings wants to keep me locked on one account, not two.

If you want to keep everything in sync, you need to set up your mail using IMAP. I'm not familiar with Sky as to whether they offer an IMAP option or its just pop, you'll have to check with them. If they don't offer an IMAP option, you can get a gmail account, set that up as IMAP and then forward your Sky emails to your gmail account.

I have been on the phone with Apple support trying to reset my security questions because I have forgotten them, she said I had to go on the apple website and find a code.. what is this code called?

How to reset your Apple ID security questions.
Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)
Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'.
This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
If that doesn't work, or there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com
(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.
A new page will open.
Choose 'Other Apple ID Topics', then 'Forgotten Apple ID Security Questions'.
Click the blue 'Continue' button.
Select the contact option that suits your needs best.

Updated iphone 4 to new system and now apple logo and empty bar showing on screen and not eorking at all. Url not recognised in itunes on computer

I just updated my iphone 4 to the new system (iSO 5- i think) anyway only new one, and the phone now has only the apple logo and an empty bar on the front. Even when connected to my computer. Went into itunes and apparently the URL is not recognised nor is the phone recognised on my computer. Can someone help me. PLEASE.

if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

Apple tv and home sharing using lots of data??

Just purchased apple tv and turned on home sharing to listen to songs in my iTunes library through my home theater. I am not streaming video or listening through iCloud. My satellite data usage went through the roof. About 350MB in alittle over an hour. I unplugged the apple tv and still had usage. About 50 MB the next hour. I turned off home sharing and the bleeding stopped. That type of continuous datat usage would consume my monthly data allowance in no time.
Without a solution I will have to return my apple tv. :( Please help. Thanks

Is some broadband use to be expected. I would not have thought so but perhaps I am wrong. Any help, insight or information would be greatly appreciated.

Apple TV and Syncing TV Shows....

Curious if anyone else is having this problem. I bought TV shows from iTunes from my desktop several months back. I cannot sync them to my ATV for some reason because ATV says that it cannot connect to the iTunes store to authorize them. When I check the settings on my ATV it says that I am signed into the store. I can view and download movies and such from the store via ATV too. Oddly enough, I also bought a TV show via ATV and it synced automatically to my iTunes, which was great. However, I wound up exchanging my 160GB ATV for the 40GB version, but now it will not sync the TV show I bought on my previous ATV due to the same issue with not being able to authorize it. What gives?
Sorry for the novel, but has anyone else had this problem or have any idea how to solve it?

iTunes 7.6.2 and Apple TV (whatever the most recent version is)
From a factory reset, I can sync all content except TV Shows, which are my only purchased content.
Tried playing with the iTunes > Devices > Apple TV > TV Shows tab. Wouldn't sync whatever I did.
Deauthorised the pair from Apple TV
Reauthorised.
Now sync is gone completely, it forces me to stream.
Also missing are all tabs under Devices > Apple TV except "General" and "Photos"
It gets worse! When trying to stream the TV Show, it says "Your Apple TV is not authorized to play this content".
I'm logged into iTunes on both machines - same account.
I've run a factory reset twice and reproduced all of the above, I assume therefor that Apple's developers can manage something similar, which begs the question why have you let it on the market like this?
This stuff is BADLY broken!
Apple, I'm amazed you can even get away with describing this stuff as being of merchantable quality, you've sold me a box that can't receive content, and content I can't watch, unless the family huddle round my 13" Macbook!
For anyone yet to part with their cash, buy a DVD player instead!
