Apple "Mighty" Mouse

Hello.
One day my old logitech wireless mouse started to have some problems (it has its years after all) and so I have decided to buy a new mouse. I checked the stores etc. and after seeing the "mighty" mouse on apple pages, I have decided to buy it. It costs more money but its from apple, it will be nicely integrated with OS and it has the scroll wheel, that was my thoughts. When I got it and connect it with my iBook it really looked nice for few mins. I have turned left and right button option and.... got a first problem. Right button didnt work 100%, maybe on 80% of clicks. Pretty annoying. Over few weeks it got worst and I ended on 20% of successful clicks. As bonus, from second week my mouse scrolling wheel started to scroll really badly in the "down" direction. If I havent bought it from net store, at this point I would go and smash it on the sellers head... I got pretty annoyed really and so I smashed the mouse few times and believe it or not, clicking works 100% now. It just didnt help with the scrolling, which month after buying stopped working in "down" direction at all.
So I asked two of my friends with the same mouse over AIM about their experience... One started to use only one button option since he had problems with right left, like l had before. The second had the scrolling wheel out for second time. Since he actually managed to disassembled the mouse and repair/clean it once. I have no idea how to do the same, since there is no visible way, screws or such. After 3 months with the mouse I curse the day I bought it. I have managed to semi-repair my old logitech mouse and Im running it now -> at least basic things like scrolling actually works. Apple "crappy" mouse is lying in box waiting for trashing. Im long time Apple user and when I see product from Apple I expect quality. These mouses should be taken out from market.
I have to buy a new mouse, maybe not mighty but cheaper and working.

Well I'm still using my old Apple optical mouse--not a mighty mouse. It has never given me any problems at all in all the years I have been using it. It sounds like you haven't had the mighty mouse for long and have had trouble almost from the beginning. I have heard of problems people have had with the mighty mouse, and I wonder if you happen to have a defective one. If so, are you still under warranty? I think the warranty is for a year but I don't know for sure. If so, it's up to Apple to fix or replace it. If you have access to an Apple Store, make an appointment at the genius bar. If not, try calling Apple about it.
Good luck!

  • Apple Mighty Mouse problem

I bought a Apple Mighty Mouse for my MacBook and now when I'm moving the cursor it instantly appears in another position that has nothing to do with the positioning I'm moving it. Do you know why this happens? Can you help me?

If its the wireless Mighty Mouse, I had problems with tracking, too.
(Also right button click, but that's a whole 'nuther story)
Some put it down to possible RF interference from other devices causing the problem, while my local Genius put it (and the click issue) down to a botched MM. In the end I gave up and went to a Macally BTMouse Jr. No problems at all.

  • Problems w/ Apple Mighty Mouse and 2013 Macbook Pro

I recently purchased a 2013 Macbook Pro (13-inch, non-retina), and have tried connecting my 2010 (apprx.) Apple Mighty Mouse via bluetooth.
While it does connect, the right mouse button, "centre mouse button" (pressing down on the scroll wheel), and the two side buttons ("pinching buttons") do not work.
I tried changing the settings through System Preferences, assigning the right mouse button as the "Secondary Button", the centre mouse button for the Dashboard, and the two sides for Expose - App Windows, but none of it worked.
Any suggestions about how to remedy this would be appreciated.

Hey there, I'm on the forums because I can't get my wireless mouse to connect to my new MacBook Pro either (just got it yesterday). Bluetooth Device Manager seems to "see" it when it searches, but insists it can't connect to it, saying either "device not found" (which is ridiculous, since it's right up there in the list) or "cannot find the necessary services." Yet I cannot find anything definitive on the tubes to say that the two don't work together. Anyone else have any ideas for us??
I should mention I changed the batteries b/c at first I thought that's all it was. When it didn't work I brought it to a 2009 MacBook Pro, and that one connected no problem ::shaking head::

  • Will the wired Apple Mighty Mouse work with Windows Vista SP1?

The above question. Will I have to download any extra drivers? Is the MM really that bad? Thanks.

*" Will the wired Apple Mighty Mouse work with Windows Vista SP1?"*
    Officially...No: http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/specs.html
In reality... probably. Why would you want it anyway? There are many many better mice out there.

  • Apple Mighty Mouse not staying connected through Bluetooth

I just purchased the Apple Mighty Mouse with my new MacBook Pro. The next day when I come back to the notebook and start up, it does not have the mouse connected. It can see it, but does not automatically connect to it. Does it matter that sometimes I leave the mouse at home and use the notebook. I come back home and I expect that it should know to automatically connect to it when I turn the mouse back on. Sometimes I leave the mouse on without turning it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Re-installed the mouse app/software now works a charm

  • Difference between Apple Mighty Mouse MB112LL/A and MB112LL/B?

What's the difference between the wired Apple Mighty Mouse MB112LL/A and MB112LL/B?

I did a search for "MB112LL/A" on the Apple support website:
As you can see, it comes up in several pages giving information about the Mac Mini and MacBook, where it's given as the part number for the Apple Mouse in the "Options" section, under "Configure-To-Order." A search for MB112LL/B turns up no results of this sort.
Furthermore, the Apple Online Store sells the /B part but not the /A part. So it seems logical to assume that the /A is offered only as a CTO part, and the /B is a standalone part.
Like I said, I'm not sure that the difference is the configure-to-order status. It's just an educated guess.

  • Apple Mighty Mouse problems with OS Leopard

Ever since I upgrade to Leopard a fortnight ago, I've had problems with my Apple wireless mouse (Mighty Mouse, which I bought 2 months ago). When my computer wakes up from sleep, my mouse stops working. I would then go to System Preference - Bluetooth Preferences, but the computer would get stuck; I would have to Force Quit out of System Preferences. Then, when I shut down the computer, it would go through the normal shutdown process but get stuck at the blank screen with the spinning gear icon; it would stay there for more than 10 minutes (which is the longest I waited before doing a hard shutdown). I have re-paired the mouse with my computer numerous times, recalibrated the machine with the assistance of the Apple helpdesk tech support, but still my mouse would not work when my Macbook Pro wakes up from sleep. Even the tech-support person at apple did not know why my computer gets stuck when I try to shut down. The annoying thing is that it only happens when my computer wakes up from sleep; otherwise, it works fine. My mouse worked perfectly when I had OS 10.4. Hopefully it is bluetooth bug that apple will fix with a new 10.5 update. Can anybody advise?

Same issues for me with my iMac.
I migrated from Windows to MacBook (about 14 months ago).
I was so pleased with Apple, and decided to ditch my PC for an iMac about three months ago.
Sadly Leopard has not proved to be a bug free stable OS for me, and I am sorely disappointed.
The Mighty Mouse BT issue is incredibly annoying for me.
Interestingly, sometimes when I do manage a restart, and it freezes, my menu bar indicates that my internet connection is by Airport (a known bug as well, I think?). My iMac connects via Ethernet, and Airport is switched off. So is there a link? Co-incidence?
Bottom line: I am very disappointed with these frustrating bugs, and Apple appears not to be listening.
My MacBook also some sporadic issues: when I wake it from sleep, sometimes the svreen goes blank, and unresponsive, and requires a restart. I use a trackpad.
Leopard has some bad bugs, and I feel very letdown by Apple.

  • Apple Mighty Mouse: covered under AppleCare?

I've got a Mighty Mouse that is connected to an iMac that we have in our lab. The mouse has stopped working altogether (no response no matter what computer it's connected to).
The iMac is registered under an AppleCare agreement for 3-years and it's still under warranty for it. My question is: does that AppleCare agreement extend to the peripherals that come with the computer? Would Apple be able to replace the mouse, free of charge? Or repair it?

Yes. My wireless Mighty Mouse went bad (made grinding noise) and they replaced it under the AppleCare program. I didn't feel comfortable giving them my credit card but it was quickly credited once they got the old one back. No charge to me for shipping either way. A painless experience! Yahoo for Apple!!!

  • Apple Mighty Mouse or Computer?

I got a problem, okay when I am In The Middle of using my mighty mouse the cursor goes to the side and hides in the corner of the screen all my it self w/o me doing it. Its really anoying when Im doing something important and the cursor just goes in circles, sweeps the dock, or just plains moves w/o me doing it. Please Help Me

Hello, Justin. Try a different mousepad. The optical mouse doesn't like shiny surfaces, patterns, or certain colors. Try it on a piece of plain white paper, and if it behaves, go get yourself a boring gray mousepad.

  • Apple Mighty Mouse sensitivity increase

    Hello,
I have Macbook with bluetooth Mighty Mouse (latest model) and it works slowly for me. I mean sensitivity (tracking), which I have set to highest level, but cursor still moves very slow against my PC experience (I hope you understand me, I am not native english:) Is there any way how to increase sensitivity (tracking)? Straight in Leopard, or with some other software?
    Thanks

After some googling, I found program Steermouse that solves it, but it is shareware. As freeware exists iMouseFix, it improves acceleration bit but still not so good...

  • Would you recomend a wireless apple mighty mouse for mac book?

    Would you?

Yes I think mine is the best mouse I ever used. I use rechargeable batteries and change maybe every other week and I use my mouse a lot. You may get more life out of your batteries depending on use.

  • Pre-Mighty Mouse - Apple Pro Mouse still available?

I was looking through the UK Apple Store (online) for a Pro Mouse, but all I can find are the Might Mouse and the Wireless Mouse. Is the Pro not made any more?

Yes, apple has discontinued the apple pro mouse. I wanted one too for my iMac; but I couldn't find one that was worth the cost on eBay. I broke down and purchased the Apple Mighty mouse. I love it! It's a very good product, Only Slightly over priced. But you can use multiple buttons. and you can even scroll 360 degrees. I am glad I purchased it. They are $50 dollars in the US. I'm not sure about the UK though. You must have OS 10.3.9 or later I believe though. Hope this helps. -Trevor129

  • How to wired mighty mouse in windows 7

i am using an old apple mighty mouse with my windows notebook. the trackball doesn't work and the configuration panel in Windows 7 doesn't config mighty mouse button. is there any solution to config mighty mouse in Windows 7? thank you.

There is no need for additional drivers.
    Why?
If you have a Wireless Mighty Mouse you have to turn your computer visible for other devices in the Bluetooth preferences - then simply search for Bluetooth devices, connect - done!
To configure the Mighty Mouse's buttons, you might want to have a look at a tool called X-Mouse Button Control (http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm).
