Apple mobile device failed to start? Tried to fix it and it wouldnt let me.....what do I do?!
I tried to fix this problem for a week now and I cant get my itunes reinstalled.
I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
Can anyone please help?

I am trying to install itunes but at the status of 'Starting Services' it tells me that 'Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". I clicked retry and ignore button but same result. What shoud I do?
Has your windows previously installed itunes?
Do uninstall all other apple programs such as
Apple Application Support
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
Bonjour
these programs above doesn't remove together with itunes.
remove these programs and make a reboot for ur windows.
then download the latest itunes and install. -

I got an error message while trying to install iTunes says that apple mobile device failed to start. i ignored this message and continued the installation process but it gave me another error and iTunes didn't work. i uninstalled it many times and tried many of the solutions on the support communities but it didn't repair it and i still have the same problem and now I can't use iTunes at all from the time i tried to upgrade to latest version.

I was trying to do the latest update on my desktop for my Itunes. I got MSVCR80.dll is missing. I saw a post about deleting all the apple itunes programs, restarting and reinstalling. I tried that. As it was installing a message came up about "Service'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start systems services. I did a retry, got the same message, then hit ignore. It went on. Then a message popped up saying "Itunes not installed correctly" Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Now my Itunes program will not open at all. What gives? This is very frustrating and I am not very computer literate to begin with.Hi Iss9243,

Not sure what to do. I've tried a system restore on my computer after the update in hopes of undoing the problem, that didn't work. I've tried to install, the new version of itunes for over two days now and I get to the point where it says "starting services" and it almost get's done and then it gives me that message " Service apple mobile device (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privledges to start system services." Then it gives me three options to click on "abort", "retry" or "ignore". I've tried to retry over and over and it does no good, I just get the same message. I've tried ignore and the one time it did finish installing itunes, it didn't work, I got error messages telling me that it failed to download properly and I needed to delete the program and download it again. I thought maybe it had something to do with my ipod not being pluged into the computer so I pluged that it and it's still giving me the same message. I just don't know what to do. I'm very frustrated and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. I'm completely out of ideas.

After a recent iTunes update my iTunes failed to start. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it again, but during installation an error message pops up saying: 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start the system services. The three option buttons which can be clicked are 'Abort', 'Retry' and 'Ignore'. I tried pressing ignore, which allowed iTunes to install. However, it seemed that not all parts off the programme installed, as it wouldn't allow me to open iTunes again. Whenever I press retry it just makes the same message pop up again. How can I show that I have 'sufficient privileges'?

I'm trying to re-install itunes on my laptop & I am getting a message that has stopped the re-install & it says: "Service 'Apple Mobile Device" (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. The diaglogue box gives me the options to abort, retry, or ignore; when I tried retry and ignore the re-install process stays stalled & the dialogue box comes back & I don't want to abort & start this all over to probably end up with the same issue; what does this mean & what do I do?

I'm getting a n error message when I try to open Itunes. Itunes was not install correctly. Please reinstall itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114) This happened after I unsuccesfully tried to install an update. I have had itunes on this computer for three years. Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. I am trying to install the newest Itunes program and get the following error.

I already tried it from the installer Running it as Administrator and still get the same message. I click "ignore" and finish the installation but when I try to open it I get this "Runtime Error!
