Apple Mobile Device Helper quits at startup-iTunes won't run.

The last two times I have started my computer the Apple Mobile Device Helper suddenly quits and I can't open iTunes. I tried to download iTunes again but the download consistenly stopped up at 17%. I don't know what's wrong. iTunes worked fine yesterday. Please help!

Okay, so the same thing is happening to me. I do not have a Mac.
I uninstalled that Apple Device Mobile Support but I don't think that helped at all.
I don't really know what I'm doing.
Everything I plus in my iPhone it doesn't pop up in my iTunes.
Please help!

  • Apple Mobile Device Suppurt not installing with iTunes 10.6.3

Hey guys, any help with this would be much appreciated., I had an issue a couple of days ago where I couldn't reinstall the latest itunes (10.6.3) I have now managed to install this current version but with one major problem, Apple Mobile Device Support didn't install with it. I tried everything, I've tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it again with and without the anti virus turned on, I've tried a system restore, I've tried using an old version of Apple Mobile Device Support, and still nothing.
My itunes keeps saying this whenever I plug in my iPad, "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes" I've done that, it didn't work, however, itunes has managed to install successfully on my desktop pc, which is Windows XP, with apple mobile device support, but the machine I'm having trouble installing itunes with Apple Mobile Device Support on is my Laptop which is running Windows 7. I doubt this is a problem with my laptop, the system restore I did confirmed that, and the issue only returned when I tried reinstalling the latest itunes.
Is this problem with Apple Mobile Device Support not installing with the latest itunes a bug? i hope so, because I've  read up ways to solve this problem but alot of it gets too technical and I'm not the most technical person when it comes to computers and all that.
Is anyone else having similar problems, if so, how did you solve it?
Thanks, hoping to hear back soon

I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

  • PLEASE HELP!!! My 'Apple mobile device helper has stopped working'!

Today i bought the new 3G iPhone so i went online to download the new 7.7 iTunes software. Now when i go into my iTunes a Windows pop up appears telling me that my 'Apple mobile device helper has stopped working' and that it is diagnosing the problem. The thing is that it doesn't diagnose the problem, the same box just keeps popping up over and over again.
I am not very computer literate and have tried everything that i can think of but nothing has worked.
Please can someone help because i'm absolutely dying to use my new iPhone; i queued up from 6 am to get my hands on it! :0(

I'm just a simple user. I don't know how to fix it any more than any of the other posters with this problem. I've looked around in control panel, done some poking and prodding with services and processes, and can't find a reasonable way to stop the messages without completely hosing up iTunes. I know the messages are annoying as ****, and nobody likes the idea, but sitting around and doing nothing is sometimes a whole lot better then doing something that makes it worse. See if you can find a document from Apple that tells you how to go back to the previous version of iTunes. I've seen that course of action mentioned several times for previous releases of iTunes upgrades, so the instructions for it must exist in another forum.
I just think, from the number of posts, that Apple is going to have to get a fix out pretty quickly, because this error pretty much shuts down their products on the Windows platform. They can't afford to let it go on for very long.

  • Apple Mobile Device Helper Failed????!!!???

I tried downloading the new itunes and the new software for 2.0 and downloaded both fine but now every time i start itunes i get a message saying apple mobile device helper has failed and it will not sync or recover my phone, my phone was bricked til i recovered it on my old computer, now it seems to be working ok, but i dont have any new software. Also my new computer can not run itunes because everytime i do run it i get a message saying the helper has failed every 20 seconds or so, i want to update everything on the new computer (with vista home premium if that matters)but dont want my phone to brick again, any suggestions? already tried reinstalling itunes, and i can get the message to stop if i uninstall the apple mobile device helper but then my phone will not sync, also i have the original 8gig if that matters, thanks in advance for any help

You can go to "C" drive, Program Files, Common Files, Apple, Mobile Device Support, Bin and remove AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe file -- that will stop that message from poping up.

    C:\Programme\Bonjour\
    C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Apple\

  • Apple Mobile Device Service Quits repeatedly

This just started happening a few days ago. When I try to sync my iPhone with iTunes,it says "iPhone cannot be used because Apple Mobile Device Service is not started." I followed the instructions found on this site and,by turning the service back on for Bonjour and Apple and it worked. Then next time I tried synching, it did the same thing. Now everytime. Help?

This can often be caused by security software producing a false positive. Try temporarily disabling your security program if you have one installed. If that fixes the issue, most of these programs have a method for allowing a blocked service or application.
    See here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125
If this is not the case or the issue persists, you might try reinstalling iTunes and related components.

  • Apple Mobile Device Helper has stopped working - stuck in loop

I keep getting a message/check box (AppleMobileDeviceHelper has stopped working)whenever I load iTunes under Vista. If I don't click and respond, my task bar gets cluttered up with these messages - I don't know what to do short of uninstalling everything.
Any ideas of what else I can do to stop this box from coming up, so that I can use iTunes normally?
    Thanks

You could try uninstalling Apple Mobile Device support using add/remove programs. I tunes doesn't require it and will work without it. However if you need it, try doing a repair install of iTunes which will reinstall Apple Mobile Deviced support.
