Apple Mobile Device Incompatibility on Windows

It started to make the new update of Itunes 11.4 and suddenly an error appears that Apple Mobile Device doesnt has enough permissions and to retry but each time I retry it stays there and the same dialogue box appears. What can I do to stop that from happening?

    Hello Ken C.,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Apple Mobile Device Service is included in the installation of iTunes.  As long as you have the most up to date version of iTunes on your computer, you will have the most up to date driver.  Are you having any issues with iTunes and syncing your devices?

  • HT201628 How to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Spport on Windows

my new iphone 5s cannot be recognized by itune
I installed the newest version of itune
The itune asked me to uninstall the apple mobile device support and intue
because i need newer version of apple mobile device support
I tried to uninstall the apple mobile device support
but it still in the list of my programs and features
Is there some other way to uninstall the apple mobile device support?
    thanks a lot

Thanks, Tiinsky.  I followed your instructions (deleting the Apple Mobile Device Support folder under C:) \Program FIles\Common Files\Apple  and this seems to have done the trick.
Incidentally, even after doing so, I was still unable to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support through the control panel.  It would go three-quarters of the way through the process and then roll back the whole uninstallation.
However, removing those folders did allow me to successfully re-install iTunes--something I hadn't been able to do before. Previously, it would stall out and give me an error message reading "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" with the choices Retry Abort Ignore--none of which worked.
    My operating system is Vista.

  • Apple Mobile Device USB Driver: Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

    Hello,
My iPhone 4 and iPad 3 are no longer detected by my computer, do not sync, and no drivers. I have tried every possible solution from Apple Support and about 5 others forums for the past 5 hours, including:
-Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of driver and iTunes
    -Stopping & running the service
    -chaning ports and wires
    PLEASE HELP!. screen shot attached.

thanks for your reply. i followed everything exactly. when I connected my iPhone after all that, it started "installing the driver" automatically. After a couple of minutes, it failed, just like before. Stuck again. thoughts?

I recently was able to fix a similar error. It was very difficult to diagnose, but the symptom was this error or a similar one depending on what I was doing. I also found that windows updates were failing and had several applications giving me a similar error when I was trying to load them. After visiting numerous sites and trying multiple things I finally stumbled on how to fix it. I will attempt to explain it here.
First, try running the sfc command. If this works you can avoid some fairly tedious extra steps.
    - From the Windows Start menu, open Accessories, right click on a command prompt and select Run as administrator.
    - From the command prompt, Run the 'sfc /scannow' command. With any luck this will run several minutes. It will produce a fairly detailed report of what it finds and fixes in the Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log file. To view that file you may need to copy and paste. Much may not make must sense if you aren't to computer literate but it will fix a host of issues.
    - In MY case, this command was failing with the following error: Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.
I looked into why I got that error and that led me to finding out I had a TrustedInstaller issue:
    - Open the Start menu and type services and open the Services application.
    - Look in the list of services for Windows Module Installer. In my case, this application was not there.
    - Look in the Windows\Servicing folder. There should be a file called ‘TrustedInstaller’ but in all likelihood there is not.
    - Open Start and search your system for TrustedInstaller. Mine was in
    - Copy the TrustedInstaller to the Windows\Servicing folder.
Your first attempt will likely fail with ‘Access Denied’ even if you try to do this as administrator. This is because TrustedInstaller user ‘owns’ the Windows\Servicing window. In order to copy you will need to view the security properties on the Servicing folder and set the owner to your administrative user:
Right click on the Servicing folder select Properties. Select the Security Tab. Select Advanced.
Select Owner and set the user to an admin user on your machine.
You can then paste TrustedInstaller into the folder. IMPORTANT: after doing so, set the owner back to Trusted Installer:
    http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/159360-trustedinstaller-restore-owner.html
Once you’ve done this, reboot. Open Services again and you will see Windows Module Installer is now in the services list.
Open a command prompt using instructions above and again run ‘sfc /scannow’. It’ll take several minutes.
Once I did the above, I found that Windows updates now installed and all the applications that I had been trying to install (iTunes, Cyberlink PowerDirector, Visual Studion C++ 2008 Redistributable were some) now installed without issue.
I hope this helps someone as I tried all sorts of stuff before stumbling on this combo of things.

  • Apple Mobile Device Service has stopped working. Vista SP2, iTunes 10.5

Hi there. I've been having an issue syncing my iPhone to iTunes. Here's a description of the problem:
-With an up-to-date Apple Mobile Device Service, error windows constantly pop-up saying that it has stopped working. If I close the error window, another one pops up fifteen seconds later.
-If I plug my iPhone into my computer, it is not recognized in iTunes, because Apple Mobile Device Service is not running.
-This error does not occur on my desktop PC, so I have been able to sync my iPhone by loading all of my files onto a USB and transferring them onto it. However, I would much rather not.
Here are the steps that I have taken:
-Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 10.5 with firewall off
-Individually uninstalled and reinstalled the Apple Mobile Device Service with firewall off
-Stopped and Restarted the Apple Mobile Device Service in Administrative Tools -> Services
-Extensively searched the internet for solutions
-Replaced Apple Mobile Device Service for iTunes 10.5 with Apple Mobile Device Service for iTunes 10.1 (This worked PARTIALLY. The error windows have now stopped popping up altogether, but I cannot sync with iTunes because the Apple Mobile Device Service is out of date. It asks me to update it, I agree, and I get the Apple Mobile Device Service that spawns error windows and still does not allow me to sync my iPhone.)
I am running Windows Vista SP2, and iTunes 10.5. My Internet Security suite is AVG Internet Security 2011. My iPhone is running iOS 5.0.0. Here is a full report of the error:

Just a shot in the dark, but have you downloaded any program from Megaupload, like MegaKey?  If so then that is your problem. I had been having the exact same problem for the past 2 weeks. I couldn't figure out what it was and tried everything that you have.. Then was on a board and someone mentioned Megakey. Having tried everything else, I uninstalled the program and reinstalled the current ITunes and AMDS. My Ipad and Iphone connected with no problem.

I am trying to install it on my desktop.  I am also in Administrator mode.  My iTunes stopped working when I was notified that there was a new version of iTunes and would I like to download it. I said yes as always and it was unable to finish the update because of a

My iTunes stopped working at this time.  I thought I could delete iTunes and start over. This tactic did not work.
Can anyone make sense of what I am saying and help me to get my iTunes back again?

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
