Apple Mouse (Bluetooth) Problem
I'm having problems with the tracking on my Bluetooth Apple Mouse and I was wondering if Apple has a manual on this mouse. There is at least one switch on there that I have no idea what it's about.
I've fiddled with it and gotten the tracking to work again. Other times it doesn't work. I have no idea what that switch is about.
Also, I've taken one of the batteries out and then back in again. Sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn't.
However, with a haphazard working of both of these things, and repeating them several times over again -- at some point I'll get it to working and tracking once again. I can't see any pattern to what is causing it to start working again -- other than just doing these things over and over again -- until it does.
Perhaps someone has the answers to the manual and/or how to get this tracking problem fixed.
Best regards...

Unfortunately, this could be any number of things.
One likely suspect is the batteries. If you're using
rechargeables, try good new regular ones for a while.
The rechargeables are 1.2 volts, regular AAs are
1.5. Sometimes that makes a difference.
I've thought of using those, but I don't. What I do -- though -- is take out one battery when I'm not using it. I don't use the mouse but every few days (or so), and maybe for up to a week or so. So, that way I figure I keep the battery in good shape.
Even brand new ones sometimes don't work, or don't
work right. Try cleaning the contacts in the mouse,
and the top and bottom of the batteries with alcohol,
acetone (carefully), or the like. Try other new
batteries. I've had brand-new ones test fine with a
volt meter, but just not work. Never did figure out
why. Others in the same pack were fine.
Well, I do carry a set of brand new ones, so that I'll be ready to replace them. And I've tried the new ones before, to see if that was the problem. I still encounter this kind of "tracking" problem. Now, mind you the "clicking" always works okay. So, I'm getting a Bluetooth connection always. However, it's only the tracking (and not the "clicking") that is not working. It's always that way without any variation (if there is any kind of problem at all).
Interference is another common problem. Airport,
cordless phones, etc., can interfere. Try turning
off everything you can find for a while. If you see
improvement, turn one at a time back on.
Now, I'll be (usually) in public places when I do use the mouse (like Starbucks or McDonalds), so that might be difficult to isolate any others that are using Bluetooth. However, I do use another Bluetooth device (but not at the same time). It's a Bluetooth GPS receiver. It always works (although it's the only bluetooth connected at the time).
If all else fails, I recommend a double Scotch.
Won't help, but you may not care!
Well..., it's irritating, but I can usually get it to working in about three to five minutes by taking the battery in and out and/or flipping that switch back and forth. It's never been any longer than about five minutes for me to get it to fully working again. But, since I've seen several others here mentioning this problem, it seems to me that it's some kind of hardware or software problem -- especially since the Bluetooth connection is made and is functioning with the mouse clicks (always without fail).
Good luck.
Thanks -- but say..., do you know what that "switch" is -- underneath the battery cover?
Best Regards...

Mighty MB112ll/B apple mouse Zoom problem.
I have mighty MB112ll/B apple mouse model (A1152), using it on mac pro. I want to do Zoom in & out by this mouse, but I could not! how do I activate zoom function.
Sorry for delay in getting back, I have since installed a fresh copy of Leopard and tested how the mouse copes and still exactly the same. I am pretty certain it is permanently down as the ball is a lot lower down than it used to be. Will have to call Apple by looks of it. Hopefully the phones won't be quite as busy as they were at the end of last week.

Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse (Bluetooth) Problems
Hi folks,
I recently got a new Mac Mini, wireless keyboard (Apple) and Magic Mouse. During high LAN activity, the keyboard and Magic Mouse will often lose connection and will have trouble re-connecting even when LAN activity goes back to basal levels. If they do not lose connection, the performance becomes terrible and both lag significantly during use.
This behavior does not happen on my MacBook Pro.Other things to check-
Do you have anything on top of your mini, or is the top of the mini under a desk or other obstruction? The bluetooth antenna is (as you are looking from the top down at the mini) to the top right of the Apple logo on the plastic case top. Try clearing any clutter (if there is any), or establish a clear line of sight with your keyboard and mouse to the unexposed top of the mini and see if the dropouts occur.
Also, microwaves wreck havoc with bluetooth. Any machinery in the same room as your mini and keyboard/mouse? -
Wireless Mighty Mouse/Bluetooth problems
Good day to you all, ladies and gents!
Right, well I have attempted some research on this and it seems that there's quite a few other people that have issues with the Wireless (not so) Mighty Mouse.
Mine keeps cutting out. Basically just clicking and moving it around like a mad hatter reconnects it in a matter of 5 seconds, but it's getting really bad, and I've had this iMac for well over a year, I've only really been noticing it in the last 3/4 months or so...
The upgrade to 10.5.7 didn't sort it out either...
I don't use my bluetooth for much else, just transferring photos from my phone, and that works fine... My Apple remote seems to work fine too..
Sorry if there's already a forum dedicated to this issue, if there is I couldn't find one an I'm a noob!
Thanks!Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
How to Clean a Mighty Mouse
Minimize Bluetooth Interference
(I have to keep my TV remote more than 3ft away from my wireless MM, other wise is disables the mouse and TV remote isn't Bluetooth)
Check System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse and click Bluetooth.
Sometimes just re-pairing the mouse can help

I have a blutooth dongle on my mac. As batteries were getting low in my Magic Mouse I removed the old batteries and put in new charged ones, something I have done numerous times before without a problem. On this occasion I cannot get the mouse to pair with my computer for some reason. I have checked using Bluetooth Explorer and the dongle is shown as active. (The Blutooth provided in the Mac is useless hence the dongle) Any suggestions?
You can only pair it with one machine at a time. So you have to unpair it with one machine before yoou can pair it with the other.

Apple's bluetooth mouse problem
hi there, now here is an intresting problem i have with my apple bluetooth mouse. the problem i have is that if i turn off my mouse and then turn it on, it wont connect to my powerbook, so inorder to connect it, i have 2 options, the first one is to turn off my bluetooth on my computer and then turn it on again, then it will find my mouse, but it doesn't work everytime, sometime i'll have to let it off for 5 minutes, now my other and most effective option is to go and try to browse my mouse, as soon as the bluetooth tries to browse my mouse, everything gets connected. now here is something else that i found too, if i turn off my bluetooth mouse off, and then try to connect my mobile phone with the computer, i get the same problem, infact i get an error on my phone. I can eventualy connect my phone back if i turn off the bluetooth off and back on again. this is very weird and i need your help. thanx
Hi, and welcome to the forums.
Pardon if this sounds like a smart-a.. answer, but the solution is, don't turn off the mouse!
I leave mine on all the time. Even at night when my iMac is snoozing. The mouse uses almost no energy when idle. I gave up on rechargeable batteries about a year ago, because they only lasted a few days. Now I just use normal new batteries and they last anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month, depending on usage.
Unless there's some other reason you're turning it off? -
MacBook Pro + 1st Gen Apple Wireless (Bluetooth) Mouse = Headache
Hi there.
I have recently purchased a Wireless Apple Mouse (not the current Mighty Mouse model, but the original no scroll-wheel one) off a seller on eBay who shipped it to me, and is adament the item is in full working order. I however, am not convinced.
I have spent the last two days trying to get rid of the lag I have with the mouse. It is unbearable, completely impossible to use. I have trawled the internet and indeed these forums to try and find a solution, but there is nothing that has worked. Restarting without Dashboard, killing every process possible, driver updates, OS updates, several different sets of batteries, unisntalling and reinstalling, tools to boost the speed of the mouse, the lot. I know my Bluetooth works fine, after having synced with several phones and other laptops without a hitch. Nothing will work, and worse still, everything I have read on the subject is related to the Wireless Mighty Mouse, effectively rendering the advice useless. Also, nobody seems to have had quite as dramatic a problem with it as myself.
The lag is unbearable. I have used wireless mouse and keyboards for years and they work wonderfully. The delay is probably about a quarter of a second, and the cursor jumps and stutters so it is not only a case of it moving slowly but behind my actions. I have noticed that the very moment I turn it on, if I move it quickly back and forth, I get a moment's teaser of how the mouse should work, with a smooth fluid action, but just for a second before the relentless stuttering. The buttons are unresponsive too.
I have checked the area for interference. I've disconected power supplies, turned off my phone's bluetooth, turned off my phone completely, turned off Airport, turned off my external Hard Drive, unplugged all cables. I am completely at a loss as to what the problem is, short of the mouse being broken in some way. But the seller is adament it was in working order (I doubt their honesty, and indeed, their intelligence after I told them I was using it with my MacBook Pro, and the responded asking if I was using it with a Mac and if I'd swopped the batteries).
So, does anybody out there have a clue if I'm right?Elaborating on this still, as of yet, unsolved problem I'm having, I encounter an error whenever I download and try to run the apple wireless keyboard and mouse firmware 1.1. update. I try to open the .app and it fails every time, after numerous times of reinstalling, restarting, redownloading, the lot.

MBA won't connect to iPhone or Jambox via Bluetooth, but works with bluetooth Apple Mouse
MBA won't connect to iPhone or Jambox via Bluetooth, but works fine with bluetooth Apple Mouse. When trying to pair with the iPhone it says "The Bluetooth Network is unavailable. There was an error connecting to your device. Make sure the device is turned on and in range." When trying to connect to the Jambox it says "Bluetooth audio failed. There was an error connecting to your headset. Make sure it is turned on and in range. The audio portion of the program you were using may have to be restarted." The iPhone and Jambox pair together fine, and I have paired with both the iPhone and the Jambox easily in the past. I haven't updated anything - it just stopped working with these two devices. This is very frustrating.
I could not pair with Uconnect on a 2011 Jeep after upgrading to iOS 8.2 on an iPhone 6. After shutting off iCloud and resetting network settings I was able to successfully pair the phone to Uconnect

Part replacement for Apple Wireless bluetooth mouse ( not mighty)
I am looking for a bottom panel for my old apple wireless bluetooth mouse (not mighty). My son has dropped it down and that is how is not switching off anymore. I am thinking about replacement of that anyway removable panel (you remove it to place batteries),so I guess this part must be around somewhere. Any help is appreciated, thank you very much in advance!
Hello m:
The only people that can answer that are the Apple people. As far as I know, those parts are not available from the web site.
Frankly, I think I would buy a new mouse as something may be damaged internally.

10.10.3 causing Apple Mouse problems and bring back iPhoto
I recently purchased an Apple Mouse to replace my Rocksole Magic Mouse. Since updating to 10.10.3 yesterday, my button scrolls down but not up. I have opened preferences and tried all settings for the button. Nothing helps. The old mouse works fine. I thought that I would try the Apple mouse because I like the feel better.
Seeing all the other problems with ---.3, I fear that Apple is getting like Microsquash!!!! Does anyone else have this problem, or a fix, other than going back to my old mouse?
PS: I hate "Photos", bring back iPhoto!Clicking and unclicking did the trick, thanks
Also I discovered that iPhoto is still on my mac, but the photo library has changed to the new one, which has to be converted back.
Thanks -
Why have'nt apple sorted the bluetooth problems after the ios 6.1

No, you simply are not. Stating such simply shows ignorance. Apple is not your wireless carrier, they are merely a hardware manufacturer. -
New iMac crashes permanently - bluetooth problem?
Hi all,
my new iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) is constantly crashing, especially after the execution of a particular gesture on the Magic Trackpad. The crash after moving the scroll wheel on a wired Apple mouse has so far occurred only once. After the phone call with the Apple support I have deleted and reinstalled the system and then copied the data from an old system from a Time Machine backup, and reinstalled my programs.
Unfortunately, the problems are still there. These are the results of EtreCheck:

Mac pro 2009 bluetooth problems
Hey guys. gals... so... if you followed y previous saga of the quad core, you know it just got replaced by a eight from mac fro various maladies and problems. Yay me. Except..... the bluetooth f'n ***** on this thing....
It took an incredibly long time for it to pair with the keyboard... then the ghost pop up says "connection lost" like every 4 minutes if you aren't typing on it. which if you run photoshop day and night like never happens. So..... yeah. Mouse practically doesn't work either works half the time or super slow or like not at all.....
So....whats going on? I tried to plug in my old bluetooth adaptor from the quad core (which had an airport card that also died) and it tried to set up some sort of pan network, then the almost working bluetooth died, so I couldn't click around..
oh.. and I restored my entire system from time machine if that matters...?
Questions... if this is the fatal flaw in the mac pro line.. thats bad. So.....how do i
-turn off onboard bluetooth
-engage usb mounted bluetooth.
Thanks
mI'm having similar problems with a brand-new Mac Pro 8-core. Mouse cuts out (I'm using a wired keyboard thankfully) and my Jawbone headset will work wonderfully with my old MacBook Pro but will only pair (maybe) on my Mac Pro.
Called and spoke with an expert and feel I get the run around. He had me shut down and unplug everything for 30 seconds. I did it but felt he was just having me "do something" to get me off of the line.
Apple has a problem with Bluetooth on their Mac Pros and isn't dealing with it. -
I bought a new iMac 21,5 with wireless keyboard and the Magic Mouse.
I've been using it for about two weeks now and everything was working fine, until i installed the new OSX Yosemite when it released.
Now, about 10x an hour the computer loses the bluetooth connection with the keyboard.
This is very annoying, since i use it for 3D drawing, and everytime it loses connection, i have to fill in the numbers again.
I've read on the internet that a lot of people share these problems.
Is Apple coming with a solution or update? Or can i fix this myself?
Read something about resetting RAM etc as well. But since my computer is new, I dont think that'll do it.
Thank you very much.I had the bluetooth problem where my MacBook Pro wouldn't reconnect to my external bluetooth keyboard after the initial connect when I upgraded to Yosemite. I found the solution in another thread from nashntk: "everything were solved by resetting SMC Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)."
So far, the SMC reset fixed all of my bluetooth issues after the Yosemite upgrade. And it seems to be an ongoing solution as one reset has allowed me to disconnect and reconnect again multiple times.
