Apple movie trailers not working

Hi!
I have a problem watching any movie trailers on www.apple.com/trailers page.
If I try to open HD trailer it i get a message that URL is not valid.
If I try to open normal trailer (not HD) I get quicktime logo with question mark and nothing happens.
Anybody else got this problem or there is something wrong with my mac?

That has been discussed ad nauseam in this thread in the Quicktime forum:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2307414&tstart=0
Seemingly there was a period when Snow Leopard users could not see the movie trailers, but it appears to have been resolved.

  • Front Row movie trailers not working

    Hi all,
Is anyone else experiencing trouble with the movie trailers on Front Row?
Whenever I select Movie Trailers I immediately get the message "The movie trailer server is not responding" instead of the list of movies.
This happens immediately as though Front Row hasn't actually bothered to look for the server at all but has simply decided that it isn't available.
The situation is the same for all users on the machine.
I've trashed com.apple.frontrow.plist but this didn't help - not surprising really as the only data I've seen stored in there is the last selected Front Row mode (movies, music, etc)
While researching this problem I found out that the actual address of the movie server is http://www.apple.com/trailers/home/xml/current.xml and sure enough if I access this address in Safari it works absolutely fine.
    Any ideas?
Many thanks in advance, I really miss those trailers!

    Hi Ian,
Just curious, but you have downloaded the Front Row update.

  • Apple Video Trailers not working/Memory Hog

    Hello,
When I go to apple.com/trailers, the trailers do not display I keep seeing that grey wheel turn endlessly. When I try to view it in Firefox, it works perfectly fine. Anyone know why Safari would be doing this?
Another issue that I have is that Safari eats up memory. I saw it once hit 750mb and it keeps growing without getting any smaller. Does anyone know why?
    Thanks!

I know this is an older post, but I've been tearing what's left of my hair out over the past couple of hours trying to find the cause to exactly the same problem described above (restarts did not fix the problem for me):
Going to "www.apple.com/trailers" in Safari produces the grey spinning sprocket-wheel where the trailer titles are supposed to be (lower half of the window). I can't seem to fix this (reinstalled Safari, deleted a bunch of plug-ins and preference files, etc etc). This problem does not reproduce in Firefox 3, where the page loads fine. I know this started happening sometime in December but I didn't pay much attention to it, but now I'm wondering if it all started with the Safari 3.2.1 update in late November.
If anybody has any clues that might help fix this, that would be awesome. Thanks !!

  • 2/3 of 3D VOD movie trailers not working on LG 55LW5600

I just received my new 3D set LG 55LW5600. I tried out the 3D movie trailers and found about 70% of those not working at all at least with my TV set.
Pirates, Gforce and a few more were working excellent, however most failed with 2 totally different pictures (obviously left and right) on the TV.
I am aware that you need sometimes change the settings for 3D from left/right to right/left and / or left / right to up down, however no setting worked for these movies
In my opionion these trailers do not show in 3D. Instead they show in 2D with a 3D signal being sent to the TV. Therefore the picture is cut in half by the TV and shown to the left / right eye.
Hopefully somebody here can check in this issue.

You can replicate my problem. It seems that those movies show in side-by-side mode and are correctly recognized by the TV. The not working movies are either interlaced or whatever mode (not side-by-side), however the LG does not give you the opportunity to change the 3D mode here.
When watching those not working movies in 2D mode, you can see 1 pretty clear picture not 2 as with side-by-side movies (the ones working). Interestingly the menu which the Verizon set-top box is producing is shown as 2 pictures side by side. So the settop box sees these 3D movies as side by side and creates it's menu for that, but the videos are not side-by-side.
So I assume the settop box does incorrectly recognize what 3D mode this video is in (maybe it only supports side by side???) and therefore the TV is switching to a wrong mode.
Can a Verizon technician help here? I definitly assume this to be an internal problem with Verizon or the settop box, so any technician would just be a waste of time.
It is easy to replicate. Just watch the 3D videos on a 2D TV. Do you see 2 pictures side by side or just one? You should see one except for the movies in the previous post.
Then access the menu of the settop box and you should see 2 menues side-by-side.
    This cannot be right!!!

  • My apple mouse is not working.  The pointer will not move on the screen and it keeps turning off.

My apple mouse is not working.  I can get it to connect but it will not move the pointer.  Left and right click is working, scrolling, just cannot move the pointer.  Also, I have replaced the batteries (numerous times) but the green power light turns off after a few minutes.  Any suggestions?

How about clean up LED hole of mouse?

  • HT1218 I pad and  mac pro including apple store, accept my apple password but the HD TV apple  movies does not. I worked fine until two weeks ago.

My apple password works with IPad,mac pro and apple store. Apple movies do not accept the same password. It  all worked fine until three weeks ago.I have changed nothing

Username and password are not apparently an Apple Care issue they refer you to iTunes support (email) to resolve this issue with iTunes and Netflix account

  • Parental Controls / Front Row / Apple Movie Trailers

I have Parental Controls set up for my children. If they start up Front Row, they have access to the Apple Movie Trailers. Even though these trailers are approved for all audiences, they often contain mature, adult, and disturbing images.
So, how do I block access to Apple movie trailers? Here is what I've tried:
    1. Remove access to *.apple.com in Parental controls. Didn't work.
    2. Block *.apple.com in SafeEyes (internet filter program). Didn't work.
    3. Uncheck Front Row in Parental Controls. Didn't work.
Front Row works no matter what Parental Controls says. And the trailers do not seem to be hosted on *.apple.com...
Any ideas as to what else I can try?
    Thanks in advance!

"Front Row.app" can be disabled by downloading and installing the "Server Admin Tools" from Apple and using "Workgroup Manager.app", but to avoid the hassle for a one-off like this, try logging in to an "admin" account, launching "/Applications" > "Utilities" > "Terminal.app" and entering a command of the form below, substituting the managed account's "short name" where it says 'username':<pre style="overflow:auto; padding: 5px; width: 500px ; font-size: 10px; border:1">
    /usr/bin/sudo /usr/bin/dscl . -mcxset /users/username com.apple.frontrow PreventActivation always -bool true</pre>
As an aside, note that the "Front Row.app" in the "/Applications" folder is just a launcher for the actual "Front Row.app" buried in "/System/Library/CoreServices".

  • Apple Special Event not working, why?

    Hi,
I've been trying to stream the Apple Special Event's recording from http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/r27842e/event/index.html?test=q1wa2sz3x and I see "Live broadcast" appear, and the title of the video as "Apple Special Event" ... but I get no video or audio! I get the Quicktime Connecting / Streaming screen. This has happened with other Apple event' streams too. Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi.
I was not able to view the Special Event. When I clicked the link on the main Apple page QuickTime would open a tiny little window, and all I got was a white screen with a blue Q, with a loading line zipping back and forth across the screen. Other movies play fine, including the Apple movie trailers & ads, YouTube, and videos on ABC.com. I tried it with QT 7.1.6 and iTunes 7.2. Then I updated to QT 7.2 and iTunes 7.3.2 and it still doesn't work.
After reading this thread (the AD search worked today!) I tried copying and pasting the URL given here. It worked for me, too. And the QT window is about 4X the size of the one that never opened when I clicked the link.
    Thanks, greenwrangler.

  • My apple tv is not working everytime i try to down load it stops and says error try again later i have updated credit card itunes and rebooted both and still wont work i am loosing my patience as i cant get any support for this

my apple tv is not working every time i try to download a movie it says error try again later

I am having this problem.  At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2.  I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps.  I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them.  The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage.  It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup.  With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up.  The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete.  This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.

  • Apple tv is not working: "an error occurred loading this content. Try again later".  Any idea?

My apple tv is not working.  I have rented 4 movies and I cannot open any of them.  My Apple TV is located in USA.  Anywy I am traveling at the moment outside US, but cannot watch my rented movies.  I get the following error message: "an error occurred loading this content. Try again later".  Any idea?  What is the solution for this issue?

I have 4-5 mbps for Downloads.  It works fine when opening websites and downloading large files from the Internet.  I have set-up my IP to "automatically" as you suggested, even though I believe this was the default setting.
I changed the resolution in Settings > Itunes Store > Video Resolution from 1080p to 720p.  Then I rented again "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen", (but now using HD 720p) and I get exactly the same error.
Then I changed it to Standard Definition and now is working.  Basically what I have found out is that if I rent movies in HD 1080p or HD 720p it will simply not work.
I believe 4-5 mbps is very fast internet connection, so the errors above should not be appearing.
Feedback for Apple TV developers is to show estimated time for full downloads when using 1080p or 720p so the user can understand what is going on. Very frustrating as I just bought the Apple TV for watching HD movies. I have a 55" HD Sony Bravia tv ready to be used... !!!

  • My Apple TV does not work and has never worked.

My Apple TV does not work and has never worked. I replaced it twice and replaced my router and DSL modem but no luck. I spent hours on tech support with both apple and my ISPs with no luck. Any ideas? Is the Apple TV a donation to apple? I have had the device for 8 months but it will not work for longer than 15 minutes before it drops with network errors. All of my other devices work perfectly on the network including 2 iPads, laptops and an old wii. I love apple products and this is the first real disappointment I have had. The Apple TV seems like a major dud of a product.

Seems unlikely you have had two faulty replacements, and more likely that there may be some network compatibility issue or problem with reception in the location the AppleTV lies - anything close to it that might be interfering?
I am assuming you are connected via wifi - if you can try an ethernet connection to rule wifi issues out.
Could you try it at somone else's house maybe?  If it worked there it would point to something specific at your location.
You could try replacing it again I guess or seeing if they can offer you credit or a refund.

  • Apple TV does not work!

My Apple TV will not work on my television, and comes up with a message saying 'can not display this mode. Change computer display input to 1360x168 at 60Hz', help?!

    See this thread:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3734909
You may have NTP blocked on your firewall, or may need to replace/upgrade your router.

  • APPLE TV DOES NOT WORK WITH NETFLIX

APPLE TV DOES NOT WORK WITH NETFLIX, just a black screen and "Netflix is loading" message appears. I can´t even see Netflix´s home page or set up my account. Netflix is working fine on all other devices at home, but in Apple TV.
I have tried the 8.8.8.8 DNS trick, the turn off procedure, the manual IP setting, but nothing....black screen still appears

It started working.....!!!!!  (It seems someone back there is listening)
I "forced" an upgrade, I mean it showed "AppleTV is updated", nevertheless I re-started the system using the "return to original configurations" option. Then it updated again by itself to a newer version....and started working perfectly.
I have paired my apple wireless keyboard and it works fine, this way is easier to set up passwords or so (you can also do it with your remote).
    TIPS:
I didn´t change any language or video quality configuration (scared to do so)
I changed to ethernet (cable) instead of wireless
My internet plan is 6 Megabytes (it was the same while it wasn't working)
    good luck!!

  • HT3180 I owned an Apple tv and after upgrade my internet to higher speed my Apple Tv  does not work the only message that show on the screen said if time and dates are not found go to apple/support/tv tried almost everything and nothing.  Please somebody

I owned an Apple Tv and since I upgrade my internet to higher speed my Apple Tv does not work. Please someone help.

In most scenarios you shouldn't need to forward ports, however if you need to, you may be best contacting your ISP.
As with most router issues, I would recommend that you contact your ISP with details of your problem (assuming that it was your ISP that provided it to you).
There are simply too many manufacturers with different software features and settings and often different names for such features and settings, that the best advice will likely come from those that are knowledgeable about your particular router.
Make sure your router/computer allows access over the following ports
