  • Apple music app starts automatically in car since ios 8 update on iPhone 5

Since updating to iOS 8 on an iPhone 5 (thru iTunes on laptop), apple music app starts on its' own in the car using bluetooth.
It would start playing music after I started the igniton-though I never use that app or leave music of any sort running in my car when I turn car off.
Other times, it starts music if I use Google Maps or apples' iMessage . Quite annoying.

II'm sorry, I thought I'd updated to 8.02 but I checked and I only have 8.0.  I'm afraid to update to 8.02 as I've been reading both good and bad about it, like it may fix my app problem but screw up my Wi-fi.   I don't know what to do.   I'm between a rock and a hard place.

  • Why will the Apple music app on my iPad not play certain songs???

    Hi,
Suddenly I noticed that certain songs, that will play without problem within iTunes on my PC, and with no problem on my iPhone 4S, will NOT play at all on my iPad (MB293KS) running iOS 5.1.1...
I have reset the iPad and then downloaded everything again, but the problem is till there. The songs that will not play are AAC-files and sampled in 44,100 kHz, 256 kbit.
If I use a third party player on the same iPad, like Bongiovi DPS, the songs play all right!!! So it seems that something is really wrong with the Apple Music App on this particular iPad??? What can I do about this? Are there any other music player I should concider as replacements for the Apple Music App? (Besides the Bongioivi, that is...).
    Thanks!

I have now updated to the new iOS 6.1, but still this problem persists! How is it even possible to be able to play the songs in iTunes, on my PC, and on the specified iPad, using for example the Bongioivi app, but NOT when I use Apple's built in Music app?
So before the 5.1 upgrade, the songs were playing all right. But AFTER this upgrade, and still after the 6.1, they won't play???

  • IOS 7.1 and APPLE Music APP

After the ios 7.1 update, when going into my Apple Music App and playing songs, when selecting a song the system does not play the song selected....it plays a song that is 3 or four titles ABOVE the selected song.  The location seems to change but what is constant is that when selecting a song the system DOES NOT play tha song that I select.  Anyone assistance and/or anyone else experiencing this issue?  Thank you!

    Hey DDKieffer,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your Music application. To troubleshoot these issues, let’s force the app to close, and then restart your device:

  • Major Music app bugs w/ iTunes Match

I have iTunes Match and the Music app on my iPhone is almost un-usable.  Two major bugs are causing this:
    1.  Sometimes, a song will fail to play if it's not downloaded.  I'll have it on shuffle-all and a song will come up and the app will pause for a minute (as if it's building the cache, which is fine), but then the song will fail to play and the next track will begin.  If I go back to that song, it will immediately skip it.  The only way to play the song, is to download it manually (with the little cloud icon) and it will play fine.  HUGE pain in the butt when I'm driving.
    2.  More often than the first bug, a song will begin to play and when it get's to the 1-minute mark, it will skip to the next track for five seconds and then come back.  When it comes back to the original track the counter will start ticking, but no music will play.  The only way to get it to play again is to seek to before the 1 minute mark and hope it doesn't happen again (about 30% chance of getting through it).  If it doesn't happen at the 1 minute mark it will sometimes happen at the 2 or 3 minute mark (+/- 5 seconds).
    Is it just me?

Okay, so since I'm the only one experiencing this problem... is there something I'm doing wrong?  Is there a way to submit a bug report?

  • In apple music app the music sound lower then in all the other apps. What can I do to change that?

Two weeks ago they where still the same volume, no volume limit activated.
    Thanks

The only other things that I can think of to the are to reboot the iPad or quit the music app completely and restart the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
To quit the music app completely - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Apple Music app landscape mode USELESS!!!

Ok, I need to bash Apple, not because I hate them...I love them an they get more of my paycheck than anyone, but update after update, Apple does nothing with the utterly useless landscape mode of a the music app!
To see all my album covers is cool, and maybe I just have too much music, but it would probably take more than 30 minutes to scroll to look for something.  I can't imagine anyone can find this useful...or maybe I'm alone in my misery?  Esp on my iPhone 6 plus there could be so many better ways to utilize this.
Just had to vent my unhappiness with the current way it is...hopefully one day Apple will make it better.

Submitting feedback is nice in theory, having a post that consumers can see is another.
Do you honestly think posting gripes about this will accomplish anything?  If your intention is to somehow utilize this forum to force Apple's hand to improve the Music app, you're either naive or delusional.  This is a technical support forum, not a place to air your gripes.  This is not a technical problem that can be resolved here, so your contribution on this issue has no place here.  There are countless other forums or blogs where you can spout off about how silly the Music app is, but doing so here is against the terms of use that you agreed to.
Now before you accuse me of being an Apple shill, I'll certainly admit that I too find the horizontal view of the Music app to be zero use to me.  I really can't see how it could be beneficial to anyone with more than 100 albums on their device.  The former carousel Apple called "Coverflow" was far more useful, where at least it would display albums in the vicinity to what you're currently listening to, and had a neat (but gimmicky) feature where the covers would shuffle like a jukebox when the album changed
There are plenty of things that Apple does that I disagree with, but the difference is that I'll use the resource that Apple provides its consumers to provide feedback.  They may not take my comments into account, or maybe they will, but I'm not going to foolish to think that complaining on their technical support forum will have any impact, other than to make me look silly.

  • Music app bug with iPad iOS 7.0.3

    Hi,
My Music app was working fine until ios 7.0.3. Now, when I hit play, it goes from song to another really fast without actually playing them...
Is that happening to anyone else?
    Thanks!
    Chris.

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Apple Music App not playing audio iOS 5

I updgraded my iPhone to iOS 5.0.1 and now my Music App isn't playing any of my songs. I can open the App and navigate fine, but when I press play it doesn't. I tried force quitting the app and even restarted the iPhone, but that still did not fix the issue.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

My music is now playing agian, but the issue still exists let me explain.
I upgraded from an iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S.
I then restored my iPhone 4S with an iPhone 4 backup.I did this to get all my previous data etc..
The music from that backup did not "play"
I then synced new music to my iPhone 4S after reading "Radar103" comment.
Even though I synced new music it did not remove previous songs already on my iPhone.
All new songs play just fine except for music from original backup.
Here's the kicker. When I view my iPhone 4S music using iTunes I DO NOT see the songs from original backup. This is weird because when I navigate on my iPhone I can still select them.
I really don't want to restore my iPhone to start from scratch. Any suggestions?
My next step will be to call AppleCare.

  • Old Music app bug not solved yet!

I've just got the 9.0.1.A.0.1 update for this app, but I've noticed that there is still a small but annoying bug that persists from the stock version (Walkman).
The "Artists" tab is still showing just one album from any band, sometimes with a wrong year. Plz solve it!

I've noticed another bug, if you have multiple folders for different albums, let's say you have all "The Strokes" albums and you just place them inside the "Music" folder, then you will see multiple The Strokes entries, but if you create a folder  Music > The Strokes > all the albums here  You will get only one The Strokes on the artist list  could you comment on this?

  • Disable  Lock Screen in Apple Music App

I play my iPhone on a speaker dock and Pandora and Audible Apps have an option to disable the Lock Screen while they play. Since it is on the speakers it is charging anyway so a logical choice.
This is so nice as it remains lit and album cover shows what is playing, time left, etc. When I play iTune I go through a backdoor fix and go to settings, set lockscreen to... (well you get it)
I find it interesting the 3rd pary Apps have this nice feature but iTunes itself doesn't.

  • IPad music app: album count incorrect/too large in artist view

    Hello,
My problem isn't critical, but it is really annoying. My third generation iPad is showing incorrect album counts for artists under artist view in the Apple music app.
For example, I have just one Coldplay album (Viva La Vida) uploaded to my iPad, but the music app reads the following under the album/artwork in artist view: "10 songs, 15 albums".
I have turned the iPad on and off. I have done a hard reset (by holding home and power button down until iPad shuts off and then tirns on again). I have restored the iPad from a back up through iTunes. I have restored it to factory settings through iTunes and set it up as a new iPad. I have erased the iPad using the iPad "settings/general/reset/erase all contents and settings" option. I have synced the iPad with iTunes and utilized the music tab to replace the music on the iPad. I have uploaded the albums through the iTunes store. I have synced them from my computer.
NONE of these options have worked. They all result in incorrect album counts.
This seems to be a problem which surfaced after I upgraded to iOS6, but I am not sure if that is what caused the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Cubulous

This is some sort of issue with iOS6. There are several threads (and theories) as to why this is happening. But the bottom line is, Apple needs to correct the problem.
One person indicated that the actual number of albums (by a particular artist) in his iTunes Library was the number of albums indicated on the iPad, regardless of the number of albums he chose to sync. In other words, if I have 10 albums by artist "ABC" in my iTunes Library, but chose to sync only 5 of them, the iPad would still indicate 10 albums by "ABC" (because it's looking to the iTunes Library for the album count instead of the number of actual albums that were synched to the iPad). While that theory makes sense, I found it to be somewhat untrue, at least in my case.
What I discovered is, if you rename or make a change to any of the metadata associated with a track from a particular album, then that album is duplicated when you sync, displaying the original album tracks (sans the one or two you changed) under the album name and a second version is created (using the exact same album name) but displaying only the track or tracks you modified. This in turn, increases your album count by one. So instead of showing the entry as just one album, the count now reads two for the same title. To make things even more confusing, if you go back and modify both versions of the album, successully combining the two back into one, so to speak (this can be done by renaming the artist to some other name, synching, then renaming it back to the correct artist), the album will then display correctly (just one "vesrion" showing on the iPad), but the album count remains unchanged (still indicating two). Basically, the count isn't reset, but remains incorrect.
Hopefully, I didn't confuse everyone. But it's difficult to explain. From everything I've read, it appears to be a combination of things; Album count and display, as well as creating additional album "instances" if any tracks are modified.
In any event, I hope they fix it soon. Because if you have a large music library like mine, it takes no time to really screw things up!

  • The Music app on my ipod touch will not open?

The Music app on my ipod touch will not open, it loads but the sceen is always blank and then closes the music app and goes back to my list of apps.. what do i do? any ideas?

I have the same problem since a couple days ago, I will try to refrain from swearing or slagging on Apple, got a few questions for you, Gerbrandt, or anyone else who's had this problem and worked around it by means of a 3rd party app:
1-Since using panamp have you used your ipod in any docks successfully? (ex: I have a JVC car deck, a Klipsch dock and the Yamaha dock for my home theatre, all will be worthless if I can't resurrect my iPod as a music player)
2-Has using panamp done anything to help the original Apple music app to work or has it stayed dead?
3-Do you have any smart playlists?  Like others with the 64GB model I have many many songs (that's the WHOLE point of the large capacity iPod, isn't it?) and I found that the more smart playlists I had the worse the apple music app behaved back when it was still working.
I'll check out panamp tonight, hopefully that will stop me from curb-stomping my iPod.
Anyone know whether an Apple "genius" has access to any sort of debugging facilities that would make it worth visiting the store for help on this matter?  (ex: if they have root access to check for corrupt song database, or debug logs of some sort, or can do any direct manipulation of commands over the dock connector).
It sure would be nice to know why this happens, I have about 14,000 songs locked in iTunes now and many hours of time invested in ripping my CD collection but I don't want to buy a replacement iPod only to have this happen to it too.  It's annoying enough the 4 hours it takes to resynch after a system restore (which in the end did nothing to resolve the original issue).
