Apple needs to stop forcing me to update Flash

I find it presumptuous of Apple to disable Flash and force me to update it. This is my computer, believe it or not. Apple should not be allowed to take away my control.
Now, how do I stop them from doing this? Is there some hack or hidden setting that I can change?

What I do is use the Click2Flash extension for Safari so that if there is Flash on the page, it is not enabled unless I say so. If Flash is not enabled, it won't bother me about updates. I am only asked to update Flash if I actually let Flash run on a particular page.
On sites like YouTube, the use of Click2Flash means I can go ahead and still watch videos using whatever alternative player they have like an HTML5 player. I don't have to deal with Flash, or Flash update notices, on those sites. On all other sites, using Click2Flash means I won't get bugged about a Flash update just because some random ad uses Flash.

Need to stop my cursor leaving the flash stage area in browser?

Hi, I need to stop my cursor from moving on certain points on the stage. I'm using a magnifying glass effect but in the browser this only show the glass up to the stage so I need to stop it moving past those points. When on a job web site and you have to upload your resume apple needs to come up with a update so you can do so. When I try to upload my resume from my adobe reader or iBooks it keeps on going to photos and won't upload from the adobe or iBooks.

Please come up with an update that will allow people to upload their resume from iBooks or Adobe reader to the website of there choosing using safari. It only gives you the option to upload a photo a take a photo. The iPad or any tablet is going to take over as far as computers are concerned because it's easy to Cary with you and people like the fact of something a lot smaller to carry around then the laptop. Please help need this done like yesterday. Other then that all the apple products I have, has always been the best and they will outwork any windows based or android. You get what you pay for and apple is top dollar.

And offcourse that I delete my files and documents is not an Iweb problem, but because my English is not that good, that I thougt I try to tell the whole story, and hope people can read trough the lines.
Why I didn't use Iweb to upload to the server is because the server company recommanded to use file zilla. And I am a nobody with this kind of things, so I did exactly what they tell me to do.
No, i did not make a backup of Iweb and the domain file, but reading other messages on this forum showed me that I can maybe try to make empty the cashfile (?)
and otherwise I have bad luck and have to make my website again. Offcourse I have a lot of examples from all the pages (copied from the local map to my USB stick) and my website is aprox. 15 Mb, (not so big) so it will cost me a few nigths.
But I'm still hoping on a miracle :-)

Do we need to stop DPM backups when updating SP2013 with CU

Hi - planning to install the Dec14 CU and want to know if it is required to Stop DPM protection when running PSConfig?
Our DPM guy says DPM protection cannot be paused - only stopped and this would remove the Protection group completely and we would need to reconfigure afterwards. He thinks that because DPM bacup is different to SQL in that it only reads the T Logs to synchronize
every 15min after the daly full backup at 8PM - so as long as we avoid running PSConfig when the full backup runs it should be no problem
I have always had SQL backups stopped when updating SharePoint - is the DPM guy right that I don't need to worry about DPM syncs?

Hi,
As my understanding, your DPM guy is correct. DPM utilize VSS to protect your database, so there should be no impact when you upgrade SharePoint with DPM up. If you are not assured to do this, I suggest you set up an all in one test environment to test it.

I had an Apple TV that was bricked by an update and had to buy a new one. Will Apple come good?

I had an early Apple TV that stopped working during an update. I took it to the apple dealer where I bought it, and they confirmed that it was no longer working. Because it was beyond warranty, I had to buy a new one. Now learning that updates can damage the unit, I feel that Apple owes me a replacement. I no longer have the old unit. Is there any chance that Apple will credit me for my cost?

Return the new one now. They give you 2 weeks, no quesitons asked to return it if you are not satisfied. Return it at an actual Apple Store and not a dealer. Bring the bricked one to the Apple Store as well, not the dealer, and make a Genius Bar appointment to have it looked at. They will either reset it and make it work or replace it at no charge. Review others' posts on the boards here and you will see many people have done this with no problem. Apple knows it is an issue with this update and they will not let you leave without a working unit.

When it was dead i put it on a charger. once it got charged up it started turning on with the apple symbol. then it turned white again and then restarted without me touching anything. When it restarted it turned the blue again. i took it off the charger immediantly because i didnt want it getting as hot as it was before. ive tried every way i know how to fix it but not putting it in the computer because i dont want it to ruin the computer. Please help because i really dont want to get a new ipod. Ive read a lot about how to fix it here on apple but there all the same answer and it still doesnt work. Please respond ASAP! thank you! i could really use your help right now!

First see if placing the iPod in Recovery Mode will allow a restore.
Next try DFU mode and restore.

If not successful then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. You are not alone with this problem.

I am reposting my reply in one of the discussions on iWork here as a new thread, hoping to get more direct help with my renewed concerns about iWork update.
We all have our own field of profession, our own workload and deadlines to meet.... I don't think it's ethical for Apple to dump that responsibility to users.
It's Apple's responsibility to make sure their updates don't leave out the features that users of the old version had invested their precious time / money in -- especially if Apple relentlessly pushes users to upgrade
It's been **** ever since my upgrade to new iWork. Long story short, I was back to iwork 9, after many trips to apple store, many hours reading and trying out various suggestions from forum discussion, and much headaches and loss of productivity....
After all that, you think Apple would leave you alone? No. Last week, I could not open my files that I need for my work beause an automatic update was running for me DESPITE the fact that a genious bar guy helped to make sure No AUTOMATIC UPDATE is selected in my system preference.
Now, I am back again with iWork 09, I want to keep it that way until Apple comes up with a sensible/responsible iWork update ...
But I am worried that the new version will be back on me, causing disruption again ... because I still see everyday Apple's notification urging me to update.
Please help me find out: How to tell Apple to stop harrasing users to update to their new iWork ?
How to hold Apple accountable ?

Thank you for your response. I know what you meant, and don't disagree with most of you said. Just wanted to avoid sending conflicting info to Razor06, I thought I'd make the following kind of counter points:
I am doing fine with my old Pages now, but not after frustrating weeks caught in between the 2 versions of Pages... In my experience, when both versions of Pages were running in my hard drive, the New version overtook the task every time... I could not get out of the trap until after I moved the New version to an external drive.
I used the word 'corrupted' facetiously to refer to the files that were opened by the New version
You were right: no need to re-save the old files that are not touched by the new version.... I said the same thing, but perhaps not as clearly ...
Apple does send me update notifications from time to time, because I only turned off the Auto Update. I did not turn off the Auto Check because I thought I still need it.

Help needed please, with Iphone stuck with apple picture and progress bar after software update attempted

Help needed please, everytime I try to update the software version on my iphone it comes up with a message saying it could not be completed and is now frozen with the apple picture and progress bar on it. Do I unplug it and hope the macbook pro sees it again, I also stupidly did not back up before starting the download which I realise I will have to go back to the previous back up. This keeps happening, everytime I do this type of update, I'm starting to think I should just give up on updating my software on the Iphone. I thought it was happening because I was using a window based computer to do the updates, this time I used my Macbook Pro. Please somebody help

I am an online professor using Blackboard 9.1. Bb only works with Firefox 3.6 so I need to prevent Firefox from automatically updating. How do I stop the harassing update popups?

I used to regularly update but I started experiencing problems with my online classes. Blackboard tech support said that your updates are not working so I had to uninstall and reinstall 3.6 and now everything works okay but I need to stop all the popups about updating.
I already have it set so it asks first but I do not want to be asked.

Restore the device to factory settings with iTunes.
Then launch the App Store app on the iPad and sign in with your Apple iD and password:

If you didn’t erase the drive and install using you AppleID, then the OS and the purchased apps are still registered to the other AppleID. You cannot change that by logging into iCloud. Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to purchase/download them.
You have to erase the drive and download/install the Apps using your AppleID.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

Could have to do with home sharing. Try turining off and then back on home sharing on your AppleTV.

Seriously, this issue is really annoying. why wont my songs download? it wont stop saying there is an error. this needs to be fixed. refund or apple needs to put these songs in my itunes manually if that can be done.
