How do I import music from Dell DJ MP3 to MacBook and where does the music get imported to, ITunes? HELP!

Newbie: Trying to import from an old camcorder DVD

Hi,
Bit of a vague question but hope someone can help.
I have been given a DVD+RW which was taken directly out of an old (>3yrs) home camcorder.
- When I put the DVD into my home DVD player (the standard gadget connected to the telly), it works fine: there are around 20 short sequences which run one after the other (there is no DVD treatment added, i.e. no menus no music no navigation) - it is just like a VERY old tape camcorder would be, with a handful of contiguous scenes.
- When I put the DVD into my computer and try to import into PPro CS5, only the first very short sequence imports.
- From what I can tell, there are two folders in the root directory of the DVD. One is either empty, or only contains files which are not considered "compatible media" by PPro (so they don't appear for import), the other directly has a single file which is around 275Mb so I believe it contains ALL the video I have referred to above, however PPro only appears to import the first bit.
Any thoughts?
On a related but more general point, if I want to import a "normal" DVD - i.e. a film on a purchased DVD, or some corporate internal DVD films I have in the drawer - are there any special tricks, do I need any other hardware, or is it again just a case of importing from the import menu?

For your own DVD from your camcorder:
1. Copy your VIDEO_TS folder to your computer;
2. Your video is stored in the VOB files, namely "...01_00.VOB, ...01_1.VOB, ...01_2.VOB" and so on; each VOB contains some video;
3. You are able to view and edit the VOB files in PrPro CS5.
Regarding commercial DVDs, they are usually protected. Search the forums for how to deal with protected DVDs.

Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.
Home sharing will then work

ITunes movies no longer sync from Dell laptop or MacBook Pros (both authorized devices) to iPhone 6s or iPad Air 2s after configured at Apple store yesterday. In the past I could see the movies in iTunes with the cover photo and sync.

All I had to do was complain. I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store. I have no idea why.

I keep getting the error: "lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error" when trying to import from a catalog?

I have around 400,000 photos of 15 years so given the high number, I organized all my photos into 6 catalogs to avoid potential problems. All the photos and the catalogs are in a 4TB Seagate external hard drive. I use Adobe Lightroom 5 and I use a PC with the latest Windows Office 2013.
I wanted to have a NEW Catalog of all my rated 1 Star+ photos of all the years in a single Catalog. So I created what I called Star+ Catalog and I was told the best option is to import a Catalog at a time and given that there is no means to filter importing only Stared photos, I would import all the photos and then delete all the UnStared photos. I did that for Catalog Year 2014 but at the end gave me the message: "lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error". It actually had imported around 40k photos from about 50k total. I tried again and again and every time I end up with the same thing. I created another new Catalog and stared from scratch and the same ting happened: the ONLY EXACT 40k or so photos were imported and the rest were not!! When I imported Catalog Year 2013 of around 45k photos, it worked perfectly. But when I imported Catalog Year 2012 of 35k photos, the same thing happened!!
I then tried exporting the needed photos to a new Catalog and that worked. But then when I try to import them again from my Master *+ Catalog I get the same error again!!
I also tried creating a new Master *+ Catalog and tried to import the Catalogs of each year into it and the same error happened again!!!
Any advice: 1) on how to solve this? and 2) if there is a better and easier way to create this Master Catalog of All Stared Photos of All my Catalogs?

OK, my starting point is that LR can happily contain 400000+ photos, and it's a mistake to create a 1 star plus catalogue as you suggest. Instead, I'd recommend you create a master catalogue of all your photos, which you can then query however you want - 2 star, or a certain keyword, or with "xyz" in the title etc.
If you are intent on going that way, you could try a slight change from what you've done so far. Instead of trying to import an entire catalogue and then delete no-star pictures, take the 2014 and 2012 catalogues and select only the 1 star photos. Then do an Export as Catalog for these items, and import the 2014-1star and 2012-1star into your new catalogue. That may get you past the problem images which I suspect are the problem.
If that doesn't work, or if you follow my initial advice, you're going to need to identify the image where the failure occurs. You may have a corrupt image file, and replacing it from your backup may be sufficient to resolve the problem. Alternatively, it may be a corrupt record in the catalogue, and in this case it may be sufficient to remove the image from the catalogue and import it again. You might try selecting everything in the 2014 catalogue and seeing if you can do an Export as Catalog, creating a clean 2014, and deleting 2014's previews folder might also get rid of a potential problem. Something else is to try the Export as Catalog for images 1-40000, then a second Export as Catalog for images 40002-50k.
So a few things you'll need to try, rather than a magic bullet, and a recommendation to change the underlying direction.

Error when trying to import from Aperture Library

I'm trying to import my Aperture Library into Lightroom using the "Import from Aperture Library" plug-in. Every time I get a "?:0: attempt to index a nil value" error as soon as I click the Import button. I've tried removing Lightroom (and its ancillary files) and re-installing, I've tried different destination disks for the import, I've repaired the Aperture Library, nothing helps - the same error appears every time. I'm using a Retina iMac with OS X Yosemite and LR 5.7.1. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jack

Trying to import from DVD

Hi everyone,
I am making a documentary on my friends band. He gave me some extra footage on a DVD-R. I have no problems watching the DVD.
I am trying to import it into IMovie, but it isn't working. I click on "Import" and click on the DVD and it shows 2 files. One is Video T_S and the other is Audio T_S.
In the audio file, there is nothing there. In the video file there is a 7 files, but they are all greyed out. I click on open anyway and it says it is importing, but nothing happens.
Does anyone know what is going on here? If you need to know the names of the 7 files, ask and i will list them.

Import Wizard Error trying to Import from CE 9 to BOJ XI 3.0

I just installed BOJ XI 3.0 on a new server. I am trying to import the reports, users and data sources from our CE9 server to the new server. When I put in the APS name, log on name and password I get a error message saying..
Unable to connect to cluster @@ to retrieve CMS member list. Locally chached member list not present. Logon cannot continue
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I have over 900 reports and I dont wnat to have to manually upload every one..

I am afraid that you will have to upgrade to XI or XIR2 first. Below is something from 3.0 guide:
If you are upgrading from Crystal Enterprise 9 or 10, you must first upgrade to either BusinessObjects Enterprise XI, or XI Release 2 SP2 or higher.

Trying to import from iPhoto '09 - nothing happens at all

Hey everyone,
sorry for opening a new thread, but since I could not find an answer depite an hour's search, I think I have to.
I am trying to import my iPhoto Library (8.1.2, 55 GB) into Aperture, disk space not being a problem. I can choose the menu command (>Import>iPhoto Library), pick my library (I have tried both original and backup) and then hit "Import". But then: Noting happens. No error message, no import. Just as if I had not clicked the command.
I have repaired permissions on both the hard drive and the iPhoto library, re-downloaded and re-installed Aperture (after cleaning the system), but now I am out of ideas.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Well try again, this time use that option...
If that fails:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Trying to import from scanner, but only get the wizard and I need the advanced screen....

I just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 (I was using Elements 6 before).
I am trying to import a photo from my scanner, but am having some trouble. I need to import from the "advanced" screen I was using before, but now I am only getting the option to import through the wizard.
In Elements 10, when I click import I only have the option to "Frame From Video", or "WIA Support". When I pick the WIA Support, it takes me to the wizard.
In Elements 6, when I click import my scanner was actually listed and that is where I went to the advanced preview/scan screen somehow related to my scanner (it said Epson Scan at the top of the window).
How do I get my scanner to be listed in the import menu so that I can get to the Epson preview/scan window?

Oh, I spoke too soon. I just found out that I had to move the twain file from the optional plug in folder to the regular plug in folder. Everything is working great now.
