Apple Pay at Macy's

I made a purchase at Macy's yesterday using Apple Pay and the transaction went through fine, Aside from the sales associate being totally surprised that I paid for my purchase using Aplle Pay, which made me question if Macy's ever informed their associates of this new way a customer may be making purchases, but she also had me sigh the pen pad. I thought Apple Pay was suppose to eliminate the need to sign. I also made purchases at an Apple Store as well as a Walgreen without signing. Can someone confirm Macy's actions?
Thanks

Hope this information helps anyone that has questions regarding using Apple Pay at Macy's.  I've included the direct link as well as the complete FAQ from their website.  But to answer your question, any purchase over $25 would require a signature.

  • I was so excited about apple pay and now setting it up hoping to replace a wallet within next year or so and then boom 8 cards you are done! Come on Apple 8 cards is that what you call wallet replacement?

I was so excited about apple pay and now setting it up and boom 8 cards and you are done is that the wallet replacement they thought they'll do? really? I mean most people have 10-15 cards at least and I am, well because of my side business I have lots so 8 is nothing to me!

Not sure what you are saying.  I was able to very quickly set up my AmEx card - no problems at all.  For my PNC and Macy's cards, companies still working on being ApplePay-ready.
It will happen, just not as fast as we might like, but I think it is going to be fabulous.

  • Can not see Apple Pay in Passbook

When I click on Passbook, I do not have Credit and Debit Cards as the selection below shows, All I can see is Passes.
    I do have 8.1 and I do have a iPhone 6 Plus.
Thank you for any responses ahead of time

I had same problem and then I looked at this post. However, before connecting to my iTunes, I gave one last try and went to settings -> General -> Language and region -> Region Formats. I had set up my region as India as I use Indian languages for display purposes. However, when I changed the region back to US, I was able to get to the screen in Passbook where I could add Credit/Debit cards. So this was solved. Then I went back to settings, but the Passbook and Apple Pay menu was still not available. So I restarted the iPhone and it took me to screens as if I was starting for first time. After couple of clicks and setup, I was able to see the menu in settings as well. Btw, I am still able to use Indian languages with the region setup as US. So I am not losing my original functionality either.
Hopefully this helps for people with similar setup and do not wish to go through iTunes route.

  • Regarding Apple pay ,Once I activate a newly issued card do I have to delete the old card for passbook and re-enter ?

Regarding Apple pay ,Once I activate a newly issued card do I have to delete the old card for passbook and re-enter ?

    No.

  • How can I enable Touch ID for Apple Pay without turning Passcode on?

    I have an iPhone 6 w/ iOS 8.1.
I strongly dislike having to unlock my phone when I want to use it. Until I purchased the iPhone 6, I have never enabled a passcode. My phone is never out of my immediate control and when I want to access my phone, I want to access it immediately, not put in a passcode or wait for it to recognize my finger print.
There are separate settings for "Turn Passcode On/OFF" and for enabling the use of Touch ID for Unlock/Apple Pay/iTunes. However, if you turn off passcode, All three of the Touch ID Options are immediately disabled. Unlock makes sense, as your phone would no longer be "locked". However disabling Apple Pay and especially iTunes/App Store (since those purchases require you enter your Apple ID Password, NOT the passcode!) does not make sense.
The inconvenience of the extra unlock step every time I want to use my phone to do anything almost certainly will negate any convenience of using my phone to make purchases.
Am I missing a configuration? If not there should be a way to use Touch ID without having an unlock passcode!

NO in order to use the touch id, you need to enable a 4 digit passcode.
    No way around that.
Imagine when you lose your phone and the person who has it can access anything on your phone because it's an extra step to have to use the touch id or enter the 4 digit passcode to lock/unlock your phone.

  • Can't Set up to Apple Pay and can't find Apple Pay in my Passbook

I have updated my iPod Touch 5th Gen. to iOS 8.1. I can't set up to Apple Pay in my Passbook and can't Find Apple Pay in my PassBook in my settings.
How do I set this up for my iPod Touch?
In My settings My PassBook app is not Listed but it is listed in the Notification section, but my Passbook app shows  in my iPod Touch? How do I add or can I add the Passbook app into my settings?
How come my Passbook app isn't listed in directly in my settings like all the other apps?
I really want to have and use the new Apple Pay in my iPod Touch, I had watched the Keynote and they said that the Apple Pay could be used on the iPod Touch 5 along with the other Apple mobile devices? If the Apple Pay can't be used on the iPod Touch 5 then this is very unfair, I know for a fact that they said that the Apple Pay could be used for the iPod Touch 5!?

Who do we complain to and how do we get Apple to Allow the iPod Touch People to have access to Apple Pay?
Sorry, you are wrong. Apple did NOT say Apple Pay would be available on all Apple devices. Apple SPECIFICALLY stated that Apple Pay is available ONLY on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Previous Apple devices, including your iPod Touch, simply do not have the hardware chip (called NFC) to make it possible.

  • Unable to remove credit card from Apple Pay

I'd like to remove my credit card from the Apple Pay application on my iPhone 6. The instructions say to touch the card in the Passbook and then click on the "i." Then scroll down and touch "Remove Card." I tried that but the Remove Card link is not "hot," that is, nothing happens when I touch it.
Any suggestions or "work-arounds" to remove my card from the application?

I only had one card in Apple Pay and I decided to remove it. I did ao without issue. I did it on my iPad Air 2, not on my iPhone 5S which does not have Apple Pay. My point is that I only had one card in Apple Pay, not multiple cards.
Do you have any restrictions set that would prevent account changes. Settings>General>Restrictions.

  • Why can't I use my new IPad to pay in stores with apple pay?

I want to know why it is not possible to use your ipad mini 3 or ipad air 2 to pay with apple pay in stores. Why can you only use apple pay online with ipads and with iphones you can use them for in store purchases and online purchases. I mean I guess how it makes sense to apple, sense most people wouldn't want to bring there ipad a long with them to pay, but for some people, especially if you have the latest ipad mini which is like a phablet anyways, I feel like it would be nice if you could use it to pay in store with apple pay.

We have no clue as to what Apple may come up with in future models, but for now the snazzy tap&go allure of ApplePay can only be done using an iPhone 6 or 6plus.
Purportedly the rest of the devices can do thru-the-web Apple Pay-ment, but that's not as sexy and not as widespread.

  • No Settings Passbook & Apple Pay in iPad Air 2

I want to setup Apple pay on my iPad Air 2, which was received yesterday. I found the following instructions.
To set up Apple Pay on iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, open Passbook and follow the steps below. On iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3, go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay and follow the steps below. blah, blah, blah ...
However, the question there is NO "Passbook & Apple Pay" in the "Settings". I'm using the tablet in Canada. Is there anyone know what should I do? Here is a snapshot for the settings screen.

    Hi David,
    Thank you very much.
Dose the passbook is also not available in Canada?
    thanks

  • Can I use apple pay in the itunes store?  it doesn't appear to be the case.

I'm trying to make a purchase on the iTunes store from my iphone 6 plus, iOS 8.1.3.  I have Apple Pay set up on this phone and want to use that credit card/Apple Pay but the iTunes store doesn't seem to accept this as a payment method.  Is this the case or have I missed something?  If not, why the heck not?
    thanks.

Payment methods you can use in the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBooks Store - Apple Support
Apple Pay is designed to work with NFC terminals at physical stores.  Not for online Purchases.
You can set up the same Credit card you use for Apple Pay on your Apple ID for iTunes, and App Store purchases.

  • My iPhone six with iOS 8.1.1 will not allow me to upload credit card data to Apple pay

My iPhone six with iOS 8.1.1 will not allow me to add credit card data to Apple pay. It does not recognize my credit card in iTunes. I have I have set location to the United States, and restarted. Still nothing. When I enter the passbook app, hit the plus button, select set up Apple pay, select add new credit card,I get no response when trying to add credit card number expiration date etc., nor does the camera feature work. Bottom line is to date, I cannot add any credit card data at all.

I am guessing there is something about your situation that occurred outside the U.S.  Perhaps you purchased your iPhone outside the U.S., or live outside the U.S., ...
At the moment, Apple Pay only works in the U.S.

  • ALERT: CVS disabled NFC terminal to block Apple Pay in support of other Moblie payment systems

CVS has shut down their NFC machines in an attempt to block Apple Pay and Google wallet to support QR code wallet system with other major retail partners like Walmart and BestBuy.
Their technology not even close to being secure. Be sure to file complaints to CVS customer relations online. Just an FYI for you Apple pay folks who are trying to pay in CVS. It won't work. Lol. Plenty of articles online about it. Just a heads up for all you Apple Pay enthusiast.

I filed my complaint Friday with CVS due to the Retailer's own interest driving the Merchant Customer Exchange CurrentC Mobile Payment Product.  The Retailers primary focus is to reduce their payments to Visa and MasterCard.  The CurrentC Mobile Payment System is cumbersome at the Point-of-Sale, require QR Codes to be scanned by the Store Clerk or the Customer.  A second major focus of CurrentC is to collect personal information about the Customer for use in Retailer Marketing, unfortunately this data even includes personal Health Data.  I don't see Consumers flocking to the Retail Arena to use CurrentC.  The CurrentC Mobile Payment System began design and development back in 2011, but is not to market as yet.

  • Apple Pay Thumbprint doesn't work

When I try to use Apple Pay, the thumbprint won't work. After I hit the thumbprint a couple of times, I get a "enter passcode" field. The passcode does work to activate Apple Pay, but I want to know why the thumbprint doesn't work and if there is some preference or set up I need to go through. The thumbprint works to unlock my front screen.

Don't touch the thumbprint, use the home button. This is confusing.
