Apple Pay not in settings, Region is set to United States

I have an iPhone 6, iOS 8.1, Region is set to United States.  The common problem with Apply Pay not being available seems to be the region being set to something other than United States.  In my case, the region is set to United States.  Any other suggestions?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

    You can neither merge or delete them. Pick one and stop using the other. If they both have purchases associated with them you will have to keep using both.

    To change it, you have delete the existing account.  However you can avoid losing any pictures in the process.  To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.  (Camera roll photos are not effected by deleting the account.)
    Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.

    I am a U.S citizen currently working here in Canada for a few months. I got my iPhone 6 here in Canada but I use my U.S apple ID and ICloud ID. Phone still doesn't show the feature after I upgraded to the iOS 8.1.
    Does it mean I need to have an US iPhone or be in the US to get the US upgrade? or both lol

    Go to Settings / General / Language & Region
    Change the value in Region from Canada to United States
    Then go to the Passbook app and drag the cards down until you see the + symbol
    Click the + symbol and the you should see the setup screen.
    This will only allow you setup supported cards.
    So if you US card is supported see if it works.

    Why do you have to scroll down every time? You should only see the country window the very first time you launch PSE after installing it.

  • I keep getting "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay" right after I click on "Set Up Apple Pay". How do I fix this?

    I have not set up my apple pay at all yet, so there are no cards on it. I open up Passbook, and click "Set Up Apple Pay" and it just pops up with a dialog box that says "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay" and nothing happens. Sometimes it asks me to log in with my Apple ID but then the box appears again. How do I get around this?

    The credit card question is irrelevant because I can't get far enough in the process of setting up my apple pay to input a card. But if I were to get far enough, it would be the same card that is associated with my Apple ID.
    My restrictions are all off.
    I reset my phone and the problem still remains
    Here is what happens in as much detail as I can explain: I awake my phone. I open Passbook, I then tap "Set Up Apple Pay" and 2-5 seconds later this is the screen I get.
    It gives me no other options. I can select "Set Up Apple Pay" over and over again and nothing changes. This is the same result if I were to go through Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay > Add Credit or Debit Card.
    I don't know what to do.

    Passbook and Apple Pay are not in my settings. I have iCloud, iTunes and App Store but then I don't have Passbook and Apple Pay below that.
    What I've done so far:
    Checked my language: English
    Checked my region: United States
    Power cycled my phone (holding menu + power down)
    Checked my passbook. When I click the "+" button, I only have Passbook and do not have the split screen with the option for Apple Pay
    Any thoughts?

    To setup Apple Pay, you must be in the US (Region = 'United States') and have a credit/debit card from a participating issuer.

    ive set up a passcode on the Apple Watch and am now trying to set up Apple Pay - the instructions direct me to the iPhone -> Apple Watch -> My Watch -> Passbook and Apple Pay.... But the later does not seem to be visible in the My Watch screen on the iPhone...  I already have Apple Pay set up on the iPhone successfully..

    That was the magic question... My phone is set to the US with my US cards... But I set up my watch to the UK (as I'm an ex-pat)... After changing the region on the watch to US, the option magically appears... Many thanks

  • Apple pay not accepting apple ID after update.

    After updating to iOS 8.1 my apple ID password is not working with Apple Pay.  After entering it for the 4th time it says that the password is incorrect and then says there is an error loading apple pay. 

    I'm having the same problem. If I try to add a credit card in the Passbook app it will not accept my AppleID password. The same thing happens if I try adding a card in Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay.
    I have verified that my password is correct by logging in to https://appleid.apple.com with it.

  • Apple Pay not working over half the time at Subway & Walgreens after adding TCF card

    After I got my iPhone 6, there weren't many places that took Apple Pay...i tried it at Subway and it worked there at first and then it worked at Walgreens too. I mostly used AmEx cards and Citibank cards. However, once my bank finally started being Apple Pay capable (TCF Bank) it hasn't worked as well. Whether or not that has anything to do with it i don't know, but now it almost never works at Subway and it rarely works at Walgreens. Any suggestions or should I bring my iPhone 6 to Apple and get it switched out?

    I think the usage is highly variable, even with chains that claim to accept Apple Pay. I have used mine for several months at my local Walgreens then recently, I was in another Walgreens store and it would not work. The same for Subway. I suspect it is the age and/or health of the terminal that determines the success rate.

    AppleTV1 had a recovery hard drive partition that could restore to the shipping software version.
    It sounds as though there has been some corruption of the hard drive software preventing access to the necessary settings.  There is no real easy fix for this, and it may be a sign of impending drive/hardware failure.
    If he had another AppleTV he could potentially try to clone the drive of a good one onto a bad one but that would generally involve dismantling when the one unit does not respond. I'm not aware that Apple would offer any kind of repair option here.

    Is Apple Pay available ONLY in the USA?? and When is it going to be active Worldwide?

    Currently, you can only setup Apple Pay if your iPhone's region is set to 'United States' and you have a card issued by one of the participating issuers (which are also only US based).  If you have Apple Pay setup on your iPhone, you should be able to use it for payment at any merchant worldwide that accepts contactless payments.  Also, Apple Pay requires an iPhone 6 or newer, Apple Watch (paired with an iPhone 5 or newer), iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3.
    Apple has not yet made any announcements as to when Apple Pay will be available outside of the US.

    I want to setup Apple pay on my iPad Air 2, which was received yesterday. I found the following instructions.
    To set up Apple Pay on iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, open Passbook and follow the steps below. On iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3, go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay and follow the steps below. blah, blah, blah ...
    However, the question there is NO "Passbook & Apple Pay" in the "Settings". I'm using the tablet in Canada. Is there anyone know what should I do? Here is a snapshot for the settings screen.
