Apple: please acknowledge notifications problem

Can someone at Apple please acknowledge the issue that many of us are having not receiving notifications despite the proper settings in our account (see thread in this forum) so we know that you're at least aware of the issue and planning to fix it?

Apple, please fix audio problems with iMovie

Ok, I have many iMovie projects, about 10. In one project when I add music from iTunes I can control the tracks fade, volume, everything I'm able to control. This is also possible when I make a new project and add music from iTunes.
So, this is possible in one project and all new projects.
But when I try to add music from iTunes to an existing project (all other 9 projects) the audio controls do not work. I can't mute the iTunes mp3 I can't fade it, NOTHING. Having bought my $6000 mac primarily for iMovie you can imagine how frustrating this is.
I've tried the following
Re-installing software
Deleting preferences
Clipping audio in garage band
Using different music, including different file types, eg .WAV
It's obviously a bug apple, please fix it asap.

Apple please read: Serious problem with Spotlight indexing!

My MacPro has a serious problem and I don't know what to do: Spotlight has been indexing for two weeks now, day and night. When I click the spotlight icon, the info box says that it is "calculating time", which I guess means that OSX tries to find out how long the indexing will take. Consol reports this line again and again (for the last two weeks):
"...pple.launchd(1) (com.digidesign.fwfamily.helper (10466) posix_spawnp/"/Library/Application Support/ Digidesign/fireWire/DigidesignFireWireHelper", ...): No such file or directory"
I removed Digidesign ProTools from this Mac two months ago, and I thought every files were removed. Obviously, Spotlight is trying to remove a file it cannot find... When I set all files to visible (with Terminal), there is NO file with the required name on my Mac.
What is the solution? How do I get rid of this problem? It creates other problem, like stopping any security update I try to install. It also makes saving files veeeery slow, and applications freeze with the spinning wheel for half a minute or more quite often.
I tried to reinstall MacOSX (archive and install), but it did not help. Then I had to authorize lots of plugins (for my music software) again, very annoying (and I lost some authorizations).
Any serious help is what I need.

Hi!
This is another problem that is not related to Spotlight...
launchd is the (sort of) mother of all processes on Mac OS X.
It looks for "LaunchDaemons" and "LaunchAgents" in two folders "/Library" and "/System/Library" (there should be subfolders with the name "LaunchDaemons" and "LaunchAgents").
Go into these subfolders and delete any trace that's left from Digidesign Protools...
That should help to get rid off the error messages.
Then look for other Console messages that start with "mds", "mdworker" or alike. The name of every process that is related to Spotlight starts with the letters "md" (metadata)...
Check with the utility Activity Monitor which process is hogging CPU and/or disk...

Basics from the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. I'll bet you've not tried any or all of these basic steps.
BTW, we're users, here, not Apple. So threating to buy an android phone not only makes you look like an idiot, but none of us users on this forum really give a **** what you do.

Battery Life, Apple please tell me the Truth

I very recently replaced my iPhone 3G with the 3GS, not even a week old. The first day after I fully charged it with 2 hours of standby time it was down to 90%. After my first 10 minute call on my new phone, it was at 85%. So far my battery is about 50% by the end of my day, when my 3G would be about 85%. Please tell me what the problem is. I haven't changed my iPhone behavior since I bought the new one. I have everything off, except 3G, and I've tried every trick in the book, restored as new. I brought the phone into Genius bar and the guy told me that "unofficially" it is because of the way the OS manages the battery on the 3GS, and to wait for 3.1 to roll out instead of replacing my phone. I called Tech support and they said that its not the OS, its the battery and replace the phone. But I've read many similar post about the battery issue. I don't want to keep replacing my phone if I'm going to have the same issues. Does anyone get great battery life on their 3G S? What should I do? The store is an hour drive, and if Apple wont acknowledge the problem I'll trade my phone in for a new one every week until I get one that doesn't drain the battery on standby. I was promised better battery life on the 3GS, and I paid full price for it.

Don't worry Allan, I'll trade it in over and over again if I have to, just would like Apple to admit there is a problem.

Apparently there is a battery problem with some 3GS iPhones but not with all, just as there were some problems with the 3G and first generation iPhone, but not with all. Every manufactured product has a percentage of component failures, which is what the warranty is for. This may be due to how firmware version 3.0 manages the battery with the 3GS, but the 3G runs the same firmware, so the same would likely be reported by the majority of 3G owners also who installed firmware update 3.0. If a battery management issue with firmware version 3.0 that affects 3GS iPhones only, more than likely the overwhelming majority of 3GS owners would be reporting the same if not all, which is not the case. If this was definitely a battery management problem with firmware version 3.0 that affects the 3GS only, Apple would probably not be exchanging any 3GS under warranty with a reported battery problem - telling those reporting the problem to wait for the next firmware update.

Apple, Please Fix Your Cinema Display Adapters Already

I know this is not a new issue since there are already topics identical to my problem. I bought my Cinema Display in 2007, since then I have had to buy 3-4 power adapters. When they fail the screen goes black, then you unplug it and it works for a short time but as you keep using it the time they work keeps decreasing. My question here is why, Apple, have you not fixed this problem which I have had for the last 5 years? The other issue besides money spent is my computer is basically worthless until Apple sends me the new part. I either have to have a backup power supply for the Cinema Display or have a different brand monitor as a backup. Apple, please fix this problem, I like the display, fix the adapter.

I had this same issue and finally found a prefPane called SwitchResX that addresses the issue that I wish Apple had. It is designed to many other things but I only use it to deactivate a second display and it seems to work well for that.

Apple, please add *links* (in email) to cancel notifications

When I receive email from other forums, there's a link at the bottom of the email to cancel notifications (on that thread).
But when I receive email from an Apple discussion, there's no such link. So, cancellation is a 5-step process:
1. Click link to view that discussion.
2. Click to log in (since I'm usually not presently logged in).
3. Then a 2nd click to actually log in.
4. Then click/hold Safari's back button to go back 2 pages (since logging in doesn't return us to the page originally viewed).
5. Then click "Stop email notifications."
This is just ridiculous. Seriously.
Please modernize and include -- directly within each email notification -- a link to stop notifications of new posts to that particular thread! Please!

It seems that you, too, have misunderstood the purpose of my post.
The email notifications are not spam. You are responsible for adjusting the discussion settings to suit your needs. You can specify -- at any time -- whether or not to receive email notifications. If you don't want them, disable them.
I want to receive notifications, so I've set my account to automatically receive them.
However, there comes a point (perhaps after you've solved a particular problem, etc.) at which you no longer want to receive notifications on a particular topic.
Other forums include -- in each email message -- a link that, when clicked, disables notifications for that particular thread. But the Apple-discussion email notifications do not include such links. My post is about the lack of such links (and nothing more).

HT204406 Since updating to ios6 on my iPhone 4S iTunes Match has not worked. The app stays open for about five seconds before crashing. With ios5 it was great and worth paying for. Now it is utterly useless. Apple, please listen and fix this problem.

Ever since I updated to ios 6 on my iPhone 4S, iTunes Match has not worked.
I have been through the process of deleting my iTunes control files, and that worked temporarily, but now I cannot listen to music through the service.
It shows my artists and albums, then takes forever to access the songs (often more than 10 minutes - and yes, that's using WiFi), more often than not crashing before it gets to that point, then repeatedly crashing when I try to open the Music App, so I can't even access things I've downloaded.
Has anyone else found a solution?
Apple, please listen up - I am paying you for the iTunes Match service that is utterly useless. Fix it please.

After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery. I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.
Sorry, your repair ruined the iPhone.
She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

You can't Restore to any iOS other than 7.1.
If the error persists, try on another computer. Still no joy, it is a hardware failure.

Try going into your settings and 'reset all settings'
You will need to retweak your device but it's been said to help with sound issues.

Apple please address Iphone 4s Antenna Problems/Hiss/Static

Why hasn't Apple addressed and released any statement on this problem that is apparently broad based on the 4s with many people expeirencing the static/hissing interface on phone calls? Phone replacements are expereincing the same problem. Users are reporting that the static/hiss interference can be stopped by placing hand and covering the top two antenna bands. When calls have completed/ended the nosie can be heard from the back of the phone. Is there any more confirmation on this? Will Apple please speak up?
