Please let us have the Search feature that the new "enhanced" 5th gen. iPod has.
I just got my iPod video about 3 months ago, and there is no way I am buying a new one yet.
Cut us all a break. Most of us already bought 5th gen ipods, and spent $300 - $400 doing so. With the recent 1.2 software update you gave us "old" users every feature except for search?! Why can't you just add it...?
I know Apple doesn't read these boards but I reall think Search should be added for everyone with a 5th gen ipod (and nano) and newer.... don't you?
Sorry but i don't agree, i have over 8,000 songs now. It's pretty easy to find the song i want with the normal search facility, rather than spending 5 minutes using the click wheel as a keyboard.

They are the user name and password for YOUR computer which you chose when you first switched it on. You absolutely need to know these, if they are lost you won't be able to install or update software.

I've been using this forum for years...and I never realized how stupid my username was, I don't even know how it became this in the first place. I think I was under the impression that this was a "header" or something I would see in my profile (you know...for fun!) Now I look like an idiot, lol.

Users have the option to choose their name when signing up for the forums, which is why it is recommended to choose one that you may not later regret. I understand your situation is a bit different, but the rule for changing usernames still stands.

Dear Santa/Apple, please could we have a smaller iphone option?
I Picked up my old iPhone 5 the other day, its so much easier to handle than my current iphone 6. I love everything about the 6 except the physical size, including the bigger screen lol. However, on balance, I personally prefer a physically smaller device. The 5 fits in my hand and pockets better, is easier to operate with one hand/thumb, but more importantly...
...with the six in hand the bulk of the phone sits higher and becomes top heavy, so while straining thumbs to reach top and bottom of the screen, the device easily falls out the top of your hand if your not carefull. Which i am. I'm 6ft2" tall with size 10 hands so not a small bloke.
I Appreciate the bigger screen is helpful, and the battery life is better with a bigger device, but please Dear Apple, could those that prefer smaller devices have a smaller iPhone with 6 functionality. I really don't mind a tad more scrolling around as a result, and the 6 battery life doesn't last two days for my use anyway, so still needs a daily charge.

a couple of caveats
1) you have to buy it from Apple - if you buy a phone from Tmobile it will be locked to Tmobile - same thing might happen if you activate the phone with the Tmobile sim that comes with it from Apple
2) LTE may not work in all counties - depends on LTE band used by a country and those supported by the US Tmobile phone (about 20 i believe)
3) Warranty of iPhone is only valid in country of purchase ( EU is considered 1 country for warranty purposes) - so if you are not from the US and you need warranty support you would have to take the phone back to the US (or send it to someone in the US to send to Apple) - also Apple will only send the repaired phone back to a US address so if you sent it to someone they would have to get the repaired phone and send it back to you -

Please let us turn off shake to undo "feature"
Dear Apple,
Please let us have the ability to turn off shake to undo feature on the iPhone. It is a cute feature that never gets implemented when I intend Rather, it is more of a hindrance to have to tap to get past the "Nothing to Undo" or "Undo Typing?" dialog.
Apparently, I am to shaky to type, but have enough motor control to play games and use other motion-controlled apps just fine.
Again, please let us turn off Shake to Undo on the iPhone.
Thanksthis is a VERY annoying part of my phone (outside of the dropped calls). it happens to me about 10 times per day. i am typing a sms, and go to put my phone down, and the 'nothing to undo' comes up!!! very annoying and i dont know why there isnt a disable for this in the setting.

You should be able to log out of an account by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and you can then log in with your new account.
Any content that you downloaded with your old account will remain tied to that old account, so only that account can potentially redownload them and/or download updates to its apps. You should be able to reset the password on an iTunes account via http://iforgot.apple.com e.g. by answering the account's security questions. -

My MacAir is great except for a problem i have. Keys F1, F2,F5,F6,F7,F8,F9,F10,F11,F12 and the power button are unresponsive. These are keys i frequently use and i have searched the whole apple help centre. Anyone got answers for me? Please helP!!!
Some keys don't work as expected
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Speech.
Click the Text to Speech tab.
If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
Click the Universal Access pane in System Preferences, click the Keyboard tab.
Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
In the Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If Mouse Keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard with no numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard are not working as expected, see Mac OS X: How to change the behavior of function keys.
If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:
Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
If the keyboard is connected and detected by Mac OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.
Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working. If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly. Use Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.

Apple, please address this issue!!! Searching and special characters
I've found at least one other topic here regarding this issue, but Apple has yet to address it, or even confirm that it's in fact an issue.
A big portion of my library consists of international artists, many who have special/nonstandard characters in their names (e.g. "Tiësto"). In previous versions of iTunes, I could search for "Tiesto" (note the absence of the umlaut over the 'e') and all of those tracks would appear. However, after upgrading to iTunes 9, I'm forced to search for "Tiësto" in order to view those tracks.
Thinking about this issue, it would seem that this is normal behavior, as an artist named "Pàz" isn't necessarily the same as "Paz". But the reality is that NO ONE wants to take the time to search for the alt-code of a special character, and then type it in. Additionally, most people (including me) have a number of reasons for not renaming the artist to conform to standard characters.
Clearly, something has changed between iTunes 8 and 9. And it's incredibly frustrating. A big chunk of my library is virtually inaccessible to me now, unless I search for terms that don't contain special characters.
Apple, **PLEASE** address this issue. I'm not the only one with the problem and it's become a huge pain in my side to have to work around this.I don't see how it's sloppy or why there should be any reason that it shouldn't have given you both.
Even putting aside that gracenote and others don't have consistent spelling in their databases, that when you download from the iTunes store, who knows what you're going to get, so that one's library could be all over the place and one might not even notice it, accents and other markings don't change the fact that a u is the same letter as ú.
Yes, it's pronounced different. Yes, the difference is very important. But it's the same base letter. And even if it's considered a different letter in another language, in English we have 26 letters and all the accents and tildes and umlauts don't make them a new letter, which is what we're talking about here.
It's a huge pain that looking for an album that has "Zürich" in the field and I type in "Zurich" I can't find it. I have to think about if I really do have that album, maybe I deleted it by accident, etc. And then I think to type "rich" and then it pops up.
That's way too many steps. I don't know keyboard shortcuts and I don't want to learn them. In English, it should be letters, not characters, that count. -
