Apple: Please post an estimated up time for the iPhone 2.0/iTunes Upgrade
Like many fellow iPhone users, I've been having a devil of a time completing my iPhone upgrade. It's stuck in iPhone purgatory awaiting a connection to iTunes to complete, and in turn, is a worthless shiny brick. If you could post an estimated time for the resolution of this problem, it would help me and many others from enduring hours or frustration and attempted workarounds (click on Music, then your phone, then music, then your phone, then the store, then the phone, click your heels three times). I work for a technology company, and we find that communicating the issue to the users is always better then letting them bang their heads against a wall asking 'why why why' while they cant get their work done.
The GOOD news is I installed 2.0... (I've been so excited about the new Apps!!!)... The BAD news is - Now I just have an image of a USB cable and iTunes logo on my phone and an error message in iTunes: "An unknown error occurred (-4)." ...please try again later.
More BAD news - All of these fantastic apps I've already purchased and I just want to use them, but no phone to use them on anymore. I'm sorry, but I can't live without my iPhone! I don't know where I'm supposed to be right now without my iCal... I don't know any of my friends phone numbers so I can't call them for help... I don't even know my Bank information because that was in there too.

When will I receive my I phone 6 case which i ordered along with the I phone 6 ?As per the website it says October. How long is the wait time for the I phone 6 case?
While we have no idea within this Community Forum how long you would have to wait for your iPhone 6 Case, I can tell you that there would not be a "general" answer of value. Like any product that is available in different materials and colors, the inventory varies based on what you have specifically ordered. For example, I visited an Apple Store on the day after the iPhone 6 became available and was interested in the "Midnight Blue" Leather" Apple iPhone 6 Case. The store had plenty of all the other colors, but that specific case and color had sold out that morning.

I have an iPhone 3GS, and realized I do most of my SMS/MMS messaging at home, when connected to my WiFi. Then I began to think, if I'm using the messaging app over WiFi, can the SAME app (which, personally I like much better than the third party apps) be installed on the iPad 2 (which I'm still waiting from back order)?
Incorrect.
SMS/MMS is exchanged over the same network as calls.
"Dumb" phones or phones not in the smart category that don't have internet access in any shape, form, or fashion can exchange SMS/MMS.
Since SMS/MMS (a poor man's email with cell phones since it is very limited) is a cash cow for carriers and very profitable, why wouldn't cell phone carriers be interested in including SMS/MMS as an additional option (and of course at an additional expense) with a data plan only for the iPad? They certainly are interested in it but they can't since SMS/MMS is exchanged over the same network as calls.

High-resolution timer for the iPhone
The NSDate class is actually very high-resolution.

iPhone simulator: 0.001013 or 0.000983 ms accuracy (about twice as long as it takes to pull the date)
iPhone debug: between about 0.014 and 0.015 ms accuracy (it takes that long to pull the date)
The [NSDate date] might be simpler than alloc and init, but it actually takes about 3 millionths of a second longer on the simulator.So are you asking for a way to obtain a timestamp with less latency or how to implement a timer?

Did anyone at Apple actually run IOS7 on a 4? It's horrible. Not bad. HORRIBLE. The phone is nigh unto useless at this point.
Apple really needs to sign 6.1.3 so we can roll back to a usable IOS. My 4 is a paperweight at this point.Downgrading is not possible. If you'll provide more details about the issue than just "not working well", perhaps someone can offer suggestions. Some suggestions may involve restoring your iPhone, and that can only be done through iTunes on a computer.

Does apple sell a longer charging cable for the iphone?
Anyone know if apple has a longer usb cable charger for the iphone for sale? Cause the one that comes with the phone is just to short need it to be longer!
Type "USB extension Cable" into Google and you can choose from many places.
Probably Best Buy, Radio Shack, Circuit City,etc. -
Is there an IDE for developing applications to run on an iPhone? When they came out I remember Apple saying "you Will be able to write programs, but not yet"
Also, does anyone know if you can control a peripheral with the usb cable that comes out of the dock?

Apple is planning on releasing an SDK for the iPhone in February. Until then, you can only write web apps for the iPhone.

I expect you'll need to wait until the SDK is out to find that out. It will probably depend on whether or not the necessary code to control the USB port exists in the iPhone's OS, and whether or not Apple considers it a security risk to allow access to it.

I have an Apple ID and trying to sign in for the 1st time on iTunes. When I do, I get the message: "This Apple ID has not been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information." When I do, it brings me to the same AppleID login window, and I get stuck in the same loop. I never get to the following screen to enter my account info. What's going on?? This is MADDENING!

I keep having the message the software required for communicating with your ipad is not installed correctly please reinstall, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of itunes 8 times and no luck does anyone have any advice?
First, for the forum view issue. Go to My Settings (on the right) and in General Settings change the Topic Page View to Flat. Click Save. Posts should show up in the order they were written.

Also, since you said that you've gone through the 5 Rs, I would assume that you used the iPod Updater to restore (since there is no other way of doing it and you don't "run" the 5 Rs).
When you restored, did you use the latest updater?
You may also want to try formatting the iPod through Windows. Connect it to the computer and when it appears in My Computer right click it and go to format. Does anything happen? Can you format the iPod through Windows?

when? when? when will it come true and we also can buy videos in itms??????Apple can't sell the videos in Austria (or any other country) unless and until the owners of said videos will allow it, and to date they've not allowed Apple to sell most videos, or any TV shows, anywhere but in the US. No one here will have any idea when, or even if, that will ever happen. If you want to push someone, write to the US TV networks and record companies and express your interest to them directly.

why did i get charged three times for the same purchase? is it because i use my apple id on three devices.. two iphones, and ipad... and and macbook geez apple i support you enough can i just pay for one copy of the audiobook
These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
If it was an audiobook then they are one-time only downloads, to get it on your other devices you need to sync it to them and not re-download it oneach. my folders take forever to open and then the docs within take a long time for the icon to pop up. the same thing with moving itmes from the desktop to a folder, and also emptying the trashh
Don't know if that would be a failing hard drive, but it may be that you are out of available space. How much hard drive space do you have available? Please highlight the Macintosh HD icon and then press Command and I for a get info window. Once open, please copy and post the following:
Capacity:
Used:
Available:
Mac OS requires a minimum of 10 - 15% of total hard drive space available and empty at all times in order to operate properly.

Can't filter by file type RAW + JPEG after upgrading to 3.3
I'm running 10.7.4 OS. After upgrading to 3.3 I'm unable to filter my photos using the "Raw + Jpeg" argument. There are Raw files and Jpeg files and they filter okay. The combo doesn't work any longer. How do I get this to work?
