    SyncServices has been deprecated (ie will be removed in a future update) since Lion was released two years ago. It was a horrible solution wrought with errors, so they went to an open standards based system, CalDAV and CardDAV.
    While Apple may be able to enable a local CalDAV and CardDAV server, I really doubt they will restore the old SyncServices debacle.
    Since we are not employed by Apple, and we have no contact with Apple, we can't do anything to bring back the features you want. You'll have to contact Apple for that.

  • Ipod not connecting again, apple please read this.

    First let me state that I made posts awhile back about my Ipod touch not being able to be recognized by itunes at all and just as a camera by windows. Now every single guide did nothing to help and the FEW people that posted had posted things I already did that did not help.
    HOWEVER the version of Itunes that was prior to the one I just downloaded connected PERFECTLY with no issues.
    But I just updates and wouldnt you know it, the connection problem is BACK. Apple please read this, the last version of Itunes had something different with how it connected to the Ipod...PLEASE bring that back, its so inconvenient not being able to connect to my own Ipod
    If someone wants to post a reply that might help feel free...but everything on this website and even a few others not posted here have not worked, this is mostly me praying that Apple reads it...that tiny difference on how it connected made a huge difference with my computer.

    Thanks. I worked out a simpler method of turning off the internet access - just switching off my wireless modem. Either way, this works and with the PC not connected to the internet, all three Apple devies will sync.
    Thinking about it now, I had a similar problem a few versions ago which I recognised because with Home Sharing on and connected to the internet iTunes was trying to find files from someone in another hotel room who also sharing the hotel's wireless network. My devices would not sync then either. This seemed to be resolved with subsequent itunes upgrades until now ....
    Thanks for the advice. Let's hope Apple's next 'update' actually updates itunes so it can sync Apple devices whilst simultaneously connected to the internet (not a big ask really).

    How did you create the account ? If you followed the instructions on this page when creating it then you should have got the 'none' option : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
    e.g. on a computer's iTunes, if currently signed into an account then you logged out of it, and you then found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :

    When I tried that process to create an account a few days ago I got the 'none' option on the payment details screen.
    If you didn't use that process then you will need to create a new account using it (the instructions won't work with an existing account).

    Ok i am starting to really get annoyed.
    Every single time i have connected my iPod Shuffle to my computer (and i have own two computers within the last year) so i have switched to the newer one, so basically its not my PC's fault.
    Every time i connect it, it messes something up. last time i tried to charge it, it froze my pc. I tried again, it kept on ejecting and reconnecting magically without even moving about. And i always connect the iPod to the REAR USB 2.0 ports that i have, and i have 6 of them.
    So anyways, after RE-installing the latest software updater, and iTunes, and restarting, and trying a thousand times, i somehow managed to get songs on to the shuffle.
    But now we have another problem. When put my ipod in SHUFFLE mode it goes alphabetically from A to B to C (artist wise), and when i put it in Normal mode which is supposed to go alphabetically, it goes randomly from A to D to Z to F, etc.
    Also i have 68 songs on it, and somehow it managed to play the same 10 songs over and over and over, without me even turing it off... acting as if i only have 10 songs on the thing.
    Its been less than a year i have own this, and i dont think i have AppleCare on it, since my Uncle bought this for me around April/May 2005.
    PLEASE HELP, or APPLE PLEASE FIX MY IPOD SHUFFLE FOR ME!

Maybe that would have been more productive than writing up your three separate posts today. You will have to click one or two more times and read a little bit, granted, but I just did all of that in the middle of writing this reply to you.

    Music can't currently be re-downloaded in all countries. If you are in a country where music can be redownloaded, and if it's still in the store, then it will show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPad. If some of your music purchases show there but not all, then check to see if any are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music, or if it's no longer in the store, then you will need to re-sync it from your copies on your computer's iTunes (or your backup of your downloads). If you haven't got a copy of your library anywhere then for the tracks that are still in the store you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    I had the same problem with my iPad 2 after upgrading to ios8.  I went to Apple Store to ask and confirmed that it is a very common problem to ipad2 owners.  I asked the techician why didn't we get a "warning" from Apple, and he said Apply was not responsible and simply not in their agenda for that.  I was very disappointed as I thought essentially Apple wanted to push older iPad owners to buy the ne, because my iPad 2 is basically a piece of crap after the upgrade.  I understand, our machines get old and not powerful enough to take newer updates.  But what is unreasonable and unacceptable is the fact that Apple did not provide any guidance on this before owners decided to upgrade iOS or not.

  • Apple PLEASE Read This!  When using Grab, why does Saving only allow ONE Format...Tiff?

    It would be nice for Apple's Grab program to offer multiple formats for saving.  I understand why they offer only Tiff but when I have a problem and I need to grab part of the screen or even the whole window, most Discussions require jpg or png formats.  It takes too much time to save in Tiff, go to the save file location and open the file using Preview, and then saving the file in another format that I need for my own purpose.  WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME!
    I could use the Print option and first I may need to use Scale  to fit the image on one sheet in stead of 4-6 pages (can be 25% scale for a one page screen save), and then open the PDF drop down button, choose "Open PDF in Preview", preview the image, and if it looks ok, I save as a PDF file.  I could then open the PDF file in Preview and save the image in another format depending on my need.  WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME!
    I am surprised that, in a Search of the forums, no one has brought this up.
    Apple save us a bunch of time and give us other save formats!  PLEASE!
    Others please chime in and maybe Apple will get the message.

    Keep in mind that many (if not most) non-techies will never memorize (let alone use) a 3-key sequence when they have a handy-dandy utility that makes so much sense to them.  Grab does fill a very useful gap for the vast majority of Mac users - why make it so unfriendly in this regard?
    Wow, you should re-think that one. I think the opposite to be true.
    And, if you use a free 3rd party app, i.e. TinkerTool, you can not only change the file format for screen capture, but also the default location for the files.
    I think that most people think of Grab as dinosaur software.

    I have been unable to access my purchased music on my new computer (the old one crashed before I could back up my purchased itunes music). I clicked "check for purchases," and received one of several television shows I purchased and NONE of the dozons of songs and albums. When I clicked "check for purchases" again, a box came up that said "all purchases have been downloaded for this account." Does Apple really not allow you to recover your purchased music in this situation? Does Apple really put profits ahead of customer satisfaction to the extent that they've eliminated phone customer service for itunes altogether? Well, I know the answer to the second question from research is yes. How sad. But can anyone help me with the first Q? Is all my purchased music really gone permanently? Thanks. -Matt

    Apple's policy is clear: iTS purchases can be downloaded only once. It is your responsibility to make back-ups.
    That being said, at their discretion they have made one-time exceptions to this policy. You can ask for an exception by submitting the form at the bottom of this page:

    I just had this happen to me too. I read that my apple id (the one that I couldn't log into iTC with) needs to have a credit card on file. So I opened iTunes, changed to my problematic account, which was brand new, entered a cc, and then went back over ot iTC.
    I still couldn't log in. But I tried creating the account again, and this time, it worked. So I had to go back to the "front page" of iTC and start over after I entered a cc on iTunes.
