Apple, PLEASE return the bars to how the looked BEFORE the 4.0.1 update!!!!

What is the purpose of this weird looking bar display?
Does it look better this way with 3 bars than it did before? It looks like a block of wood.
Please, next time, go back to the real thing. No one will get fooled that they have more signal. We're not blind. We can see 3 bars one way or another.
They look SO WEIRD!!!!!

For once I agree with Zebra1. haha

    Hi
Unfortunately I bought a 4s Apple to return the phone to factory settings and now I have the wrong password only I would input password.
    Please can you help me.

If you don't know the passcode but have synced with iTunes before while the passcode was set on it, you can back it up then restore it in iTunes on the last computer it was synced with.
If you haven't synced it while the passcode was set on it, or if you don't have access to the last computer it was synced with, you'll have to force it into recovery mode and restore it as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.  Then restore to an existing backup if you have one; if not, you'll have to restore it as a new iPhone and start over.

I recently purchased an old iMac G3 Macintosh. I was wondering, is there a way where I can update it without using an external disc? I've seen the newer Apple products with the dock, if I update my iMac G3, will it have that, and if so, how can I do that?

I was wondering, is there a way where I can update it without using an external disc?
If you mean the iMac does not have an internal optical drive capable of reading DVDs, the only option requires another Mac with a DVD-capable drive and FireWire ports. Your iMac G3 will also require FireWire ports. Not all G3 iMacs have Firewire. FW started with the Summer 2000 models with 400mHz and faster processors.
With FireWire, you can use FireWire Target Disk mode to install from a retail OS install DVD in another Mac. If you supplemental info info tells us if you have another Mac with a DVD reader and the FW ports, we can walk you through the process.
If the iMac has a tray-loading drive, I'd forget it. They are very limited not only in the OS max (10.3.9) but also in RAM capability. Starting with the slot-loading iMac G3s, the max RAM increased to 1 GB (2 X 512MB modlules). Tiger likes 1GB RAM.
Understand that pre-Intel Macs are getting harder to use. Even with 10.4.11, your choice of browsers is limited (TenFourFox is the most viable option) and the G3s  rudimentary video hardware means web browsing will be choppy at best.
If you are in the USA, you can try calling the Apple Store (1-800-MY-APPLE) for an OS disk. As recently as Jan 20, someone posted here that they were able to buy Tiger by calling. It was not clear whether the disks were replacement system install/restore disks or full retail install, but it's a free call.
When you do "About this Mac" to check teh OS verion, also look at the processor speed and tell us what that says. That can help with recommendations for an upgrade path.

  • Will Apple please reinstate the 'bold' keyboard in IOS 7?

Could Apple please reinstate the 'bold' keyboard in IOS 7? The new keyboard is too pale and difficult to use.

In General>Settings>Accessibility there is an option for Bold Text, but this doesn't really affect the keyboard. If you want to make your voice heard by Apple, provide feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

  • Can Apple please give the option to remove synching video?

Can Apple please add the toggle option for video for iCloud synching.  It is eating up all of my space due to the fact that I did not purchase them from Apple.

You can tell Apple at the link below.

I have changed my apple ID but the phone has not updated and I cant see how to change it

You can log out of your account on the iPhone by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and you can then log back in with the updated version - if you created a new account as opposed to updating the existing account then your current content will remain tied to the old account and it can't be copied or transferred to the new one.

    Oh!
First thing I think would be to do a search for the folder in case it's somehow got moved.
Failing that, you can retrieve the folder from your original installer disc using Pacifist.
Insert the disc (don't boot from it) and open the installer package with Pacifist. Navigate to the Desktop Pictures folder (might be a bit more fiddly to find in the package structure). When you find it, select the folder, right-click (or ctrl-click) and select 'install in default location' from the context menu.
Exit Pacifist and eject the disc.
    Best of luck!

  • Apple, please restore the scroll bar all the time.

This is just a note to Apple asking them to return the scroll bar all the time, or at least make it an option that it's always there for all the programs in the next update of Mountain Lion. This is really a nuisance in iPhoto, but also in other programs where it disappears. What's the point anyway? It's a pain when it vanishes, and I'm not sure if the window should scroll or if I'm seeing all the content. Getting the scroll bar to show up is tough, too. BRING BACK THE SCROLL BAR, PLEASE!

http://www.apple.com/feedback will provide much more fruitful results.

  • Apple please allow the user to edit the genres

You know after apple revamped iTunes 12, and I think that they did a great job,, I started to think about the  genres.  I really wish that I had control over what genres appeared in my list because the overwhelming majority go unused and I'd like to have only the ones that are pertinent to me in my list.  So apple if you are reading this please allow the end user to choose which genres appear in their list and allow them to delete the rest.

    See this article.

  • I changed my email on my apple id to the new one, i update the ios8 on 5s and there's an old id that I can't remove it, I can't restore, too. Please help me.

I changed an email on my apple ID to the new one. I upgraded my 5s to ios8, it required the password on the old email that I can't reach it. I tried to restore but I can't. In conclusion, I changed an email to the new one but it still the old on the updated 5s and I filled down the password and it said "incorrect ID or password" so I can't change it into the new one. How should I do? Thank you so much.

Yes, absolutely, you can still use the old ID to update, etc., but I understood the OP to want to simply discard the old one and use only the new one. Maybe I misunderstood...
And, actually just now re-reading the first post, it could be that the ID had only been associated with the iDevices, so if he established a new ID and associated that with the new MBP, I frankly have no idea if he can still use the old ID on that machine (based on him saying that the old ID is greyed out) - have not come up with this type of situation before.

  • HT1551 Can apple please answer the persistent question on why Hulu services, personal video via airplay, Netflix, suddenly stops working, and yet all along it has been working well on Apple TV? This is in contrast to YouTube, which is working without a fl

Hulu, Netflix and my personal videos have been working fairly well on appletv. Suddenly, without warning, they have all failed. My subscription via my apple ID is on automatic renewal, so the issue of non-paid services does not arise. On the other hand, YouTube is working perfectly well on appleTV.
Several solutions offered in the discussion group such as setting the appletv on sleep mode are not technical solutions. Rather, these solutions offered remind me of analogue age, when one had to hit the side of a TV set when reception failed.
In my case, I am using the same HD TV set that has been working all along. A new cable has failed, but if I am told to pay for an advice related to a fault that is not mine, I would rather buy a set box that is void of appletv or apple.
Apple please give a clear, well defined technical solution on the problem with your device, and to be specific on the following error:
"This content requires HDCP for playback"
I know what HDCP is, and one cannot say that this is related to a dynamic code that evolves with time, failing at a time of its convinience.

It is considered rude to double post on a fourm.

  • I know Apple has pulled the iOS 8.01 update but how can I clear the update icon that is on my settings icon?

How do I clear the update icon that is appearing on my settings icon now that the iOS 8.01 update has been pulled?

You're saying you don't back up your phone regularly? You should ALWAYS back up before updating your phone. That said, try resetting first: hold down the home button and the power button for at least 10-20 seconds until you see the Apple. Hopefully you can then try to perform the update again. Start doing backups if your data is important to you.

  • Apple, please do the right thing

Please don't turn your back on your most loyal supporters, those who waited in the rain and heat to be the first proud owners of iPhones. A $50 or $100 iTunes credit would go a long way in restoring our faith in you.
I know it's normal for prices to drop, but not 33% in 60 days. The PR alone from this is ugly enough for you to want to make some kind of concession to your loyal customers. Remember people laughing at those waiting on line for iPhones, calling them kooks? Do you want those mocking laughs to turn out to be true? That people who buy Apple products are kooks who pay too much money and are screwed by a company they revere?
Please, do the right thing Apple.

I hope both of you are right in the next week or so
     dood
they ought to let you trade up for a 16gb when that comes out at no charge
    I'd be down with that
That is exactly what I was thinking

  • Apple, PLEASE restore the Bluetooth functionality per IOS 4.3.5

So many complaints here about how our BT devices worked perfectly w/ IOS 4.3.5 and now, all the joy is gone w/ IOS 5.
I used to be able to control the volume on both my iPad and my BT headset independantly.
Volume would max out on the iPad when entering the iPod or Video apps when I was paired up and then I could turn it up further on my headset.
Now, they control each other and I can't get enough volume to hear in noisy places.
Please, please, pretty please...Can you fix this asap?

Is there anyone else that is having connectivity issues w/ 5.0.1 as well? Previously, if I paused the iPod app w/ my BT headset control and went out of range, when I would return and hit play on the BT headset, the BT icon would appear and flash, then the play icon appeared, and several seconds later music would resume.
Now, when I go out of range, or even pause for an extended period I get NOTHING! I have to constantly go into settings and select the headset manually, which sometimes doesn't take, or completely turn BT off on the iPad and/or my BT headset to get it to re-connect. Why did Apple feel compelled to completely **** up everything they could with the BT functionality? I have several devices and they all worked fine w/ 4.3.5, never a problem w/ connection, volume or functions. I have sent several feedback reports and called twice. Don't know what else to do but beetch some more at this point because it seems it's falling on deaf ears.
The other thing I don't understand is how this OS is affecting devices differently. My friend has had none battery, BT or data loss issues with his iPad2. I've got EVERYTHING shut down on mine (location, email push, notifications, apps etc), brightness at 25%, and am even running in Airplane mode. But if I turn on wifi and check email and surf, I can lose 10% of battery in a half hour or less.
I'm really finding out how much I absolutely HATE / LOATHE / DESPISE this OS.
When I got my iPad2  back in June, it was one of, if not THE greatest experiences of my life as far as getting a piece of computer/electronic gear goes. NOW, I occasionally find myself dreaming of dispersing it into as many pieces as I can across my back yard. All because the company that I had always heard "did not release garbage for their customers to de-bug", did exactly that.
If anyone from Apple is here reading this, FIX IT! And I'll even say "PRETTY PLEASE" if that'll persuade you to. Either that, or give us a way to revert back to 4.3.5.
I'd happily reload all of my apps and data for that bit of generosity.
