Apple plug-ins don' retain settings

Does anybody know how to get the Apple plug-ins to retain their settings so that they are exactly how you left them the next time you open the song.
The Logic ones do - you don't have to save them individually or anything - you just add a plug in to a channel strip, dial up some settings and close it. The next time you open the song they are exactly how you left them. Is there anyway to get the Apple ones to do the same thing ??

I've got the same problem. Especially EVP-88 forgets the tuning and some parameters - but the're still saved - and EXS-24 forgets the samples.
I save the settings and before quitting Logic I freeze it. It works 'till I unfreeze the files. But I got the saved settings. - This is not really comfartable, but it helps.
What me get really ****** off is the parameter window underneath the mouse.
I work a lot with audio and if I'm gonna fix the timing of audio objects in the arrange window, the parameter window appears right upon the wave of the audio file!!!

For some reason, the Flash Player on my MAC Pro stopped working, I've checked the install on my Adobe Flash Player and the are current, but the plug-ins don't seem to be working.  Can anyone help me get it working?

It happened w/ my MacPro 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon about 5 months ago; tried everything I could think of including multiple downloads of Flash, and hadn't seen any solutions here.  Adobe insisted many times that I download & update, but the newest vers. wouldn't work on the computer.
On checking Adobe/Flash was reading the computer as being an earlier model. So the new version of Flash wouldn't work w/ it.  Snow Leopard 10.6.8 was being read correctly but not the computer model (can't remember what MP model  it was reading).
Nothing worked. So -- a very old PC trick: If nothing else works get the hammer out and bludgeon it-- might work. So I reset everything by putting the Snow Leopard  install disk in, held down 'C' on restart and let it run.
Didn't take anything off the HDD first, just ran the install disk over everything.
The experts on the forums are probably cringing right now & I'd like very much for them to jump in. Love to know how my computer model was being mis-read. All I can say is, for the brave and desparate, it worked for me. Something to keep in mind.
It helped that I had a new computer on order & have 2 backups, one being mandatory. Might work only the one time but worth a check.
Good luck on working this one out.

  • Plug-ins Don't Work in Reader XI; Work Fine in Reader X

We're looking to upgrade from Reader 9.x to Reader XI.  A bunch of us in IT have been running Reader X without issue for some time so we didn't anticipate any problems with XI. I tested the upgrade process on a machine with 9.x and although it worked fine, none of our add-ins worked.  I performed the following on a machine with XI with no positive results:
Performed repair or 'modify' installations of the applications in question that load add-ins/plug-ins into Adobe
I verified the .API files were in in the proper location
One plugin (caseMap) goes into reader\plug_ins
Another plugin (Interwoven) goes into reader\plug_ins\Interwoven
    Verified protected mode was disabled via registryreg add "HKEY_USERS\DefUser\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\Privileged" /v bProtectedMode /t reg_dword /d 0 /f
Again: Going from 9.x to X we don't have a problem, and usually adding the .API file is all that's necessary to get the plug-in working again.  But when going from 9.x to XI or X to XI, the plug-ins no longer work.
Has something drastically changed between X and XI that would make these add-ins cease to function?
I've reached out to the vendors & am awaiting responses.  In the mean time, is there anything I failed to check or something else I can do?

    Thanks for the response.
We tend to not assume it'll work & blindly fire off updates.  You see, when we (IT Only) upgaded to X from 9, the new 'protected mode' feature caught us off guard.  We assumed we had done something wrong with the packaging and so spent a few days making sure we crossed our t's and dotted our i's before escalating to the vendors.  And when we reached out they came back with a very simple "ohh yeah just check off a box", making us feel a bit foolish.  I wanted to be sure there wasn't some other new measure put in place to further try to secure Reader.
    As it turns out,
LexisNexis had to update their package for CaseMap 10 for Reader XI, and they have no plans to patch earlier versions.
Autonomy / Interwoven is set to release FileSite 8.5 SP3 Update 6 in Q1 which will support XI.
As you stated, vendors have to produce updates.

  • Nik Software plug-ins don't work in Aperture 3.3

I just updated yesterday to Aperture 3.3, and today, upon opening a photo to edit with my Nik software plug-ins, namely Dfine 2.0, Color Efex 3, and Output Sharpener, none of them worked, and which had worked just fine in aperture 3.2.4. (and which when I tried to open that said that "This version of aperture doesn't support Dfine 2.0").  I then took the obvious route of trying to change in Aperture in "get Info" the previously available choice of "32 bit mode", only to realize that it was no longer there (only the shadowed "Locked" button).  What can possibly be done in order for my plug-ins to work again?
    Greg

Dfine 2 and Silver Efex Pro 1 work for me with Ap3.3.
Have you taken any trouble-shooting steps?

  • Ubermind's plug-ins don't work

And any them plug-ins couldn't download. Even this company exists now. It's not good for apple's site to reccomend than thing.

    Hi Alex
Ubermind discontinued the plugin and you have to download it from some alternative site. Google for it or try this link: http://www.downloadplex.com/Mac/Graphic-Apps/Other/Download-maperture-pro-for-ma c_178058.html
I use Maperture Pro to write the GPS data into my JPG master files and add altitude information.

  • My internet plug-ins don't function. That is Flash, Adobe reader, Silverlight and I don't know what else. Any solutions to the problem?

I'm using Firefox 11 on an Intel iMac OS 10.6.8. This problem has just presented itself. First noticed it after intalling the latest Flash plug in 11.2.
Then realised that in fact I wasn't able to read a pdf on a web site or watch videos that need Microsoft Silverlight. Tried cleaning temp files and cookies, and
restoring permissions which were corrupted for Flash and Java script but to no avail. Anyone with any ideas please?

Firefox does not support most plug-ins.
    But there is a workaround!
Open Firefox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: firefox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close Firefox, open it again, and Flash etc will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.

  • I installed Firefox5 and now mt plug ins don't work. I want to go back to FF4 - how can i do this?

I use property bee and the valuations tool bar all the time. When I upgrade to Firefox 5 I did not realise that these would no longer work. I need these so i want to go back to the previous version of firefox - it worked just fine! how can i do this?

If they worked in Firefox 4, there's a really good chance they will still work in Firefox 5.
Extensions for Firefox include a list of compatible Firefox versions. You can ''ignore'' add-on version restrictions by (what else) installing an add-on. Then you can test whether the add-ons important to you actually work in Firefox 5.
    [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter :: Add-ons for Firefox]
Please report back on your results.
Oh, and due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended.

  • Error messages after alternate plug-ins directory chosen

After my initial install of the CS6 beta, which went quickly and flawlessly (I have learned to turn off my virus protection during install due to previous problems with installs of older versions of PS) I went to preferences and chose my CS5 plug-ins directory.
After that was done I got a series of 3 error messages which, after closing them, did NOT prevent CS6 from opening eventually.
I would like to know what I can do to get rid of those error messages.
I've posted screen grabs here:  <http://www.flickr.com/photos/isabel95/7009088577/in/photostream>  Click on "newer" to see the following two error messages.

    you should not do that.

    Plug-in Compatibility
    In general:
3rd Party plug-ins that are compatible in Photoshop CS5 should be compatible in Photoshop CS6
Adobe provided plug-ins, and additional plug-ins, for CS5 are not compatible in Photoshop CS6  Photoshop CS5 Optional Plug-Ins (Mac/Win)
    TWAIN plug-in | Photoshop CS4, CS5
    OpenEXR Alpha plug-in | Photoshop CS5 Extended
    Do:
Check the plug-in manufacturer's website for the latest version of your plug-in
Use the manufacturer's plug-in installer to install their plug-ins
    Don't:
Do not point Photoshop CS6's "Additional Plug-ins" preference (Preferences>Plug-Ins...) at a previous version of Photoshop's 'Plug-Ins' folder.
Do not manually drag plug-ins from a previous version of Photoshop's plug-ins folder to Photoshop CS6's 'Plug-Ins' folder

  • I Need To Know All Programs/Plug-ins/Files Bundled With CS2 Design Standard Suite

I am the Unit Software License Manager for my office at a government installation. I am in charge of accounting for all licensed software (both the physical CDs and the licenses/serial #s/Registration #s) being used on the computers in my office. Currently, I have a master list that shows all software used, including the main programs, plug-ins, add-ons, settings, toolkits, servers, drivers, etc., on all our stations. I need to break the list down to show which of these programs, etc., were bundled to the CS2 Design Standard suite specifically. Does anyone have any knowledge of the complete list that was bundled with CS2 Design Standard? Thanks.

  • Korg Wavestation Plug ins not appearing in Logic 9.1.3

    Hi all;
New to the Forums and Logic. I just upgraded to Logic Express from Garageband and Im still pretty new. I am finding my way around ok but I am having an issue with my Korg Wavestation Plug ins showing up in Logic.
They show up fine in Garageband, and if I open a Garageband Project that used Wavestation instrumentation they are there too.
However, If I start a new projct The choice for Wavestation does not appear, only the Apple Plug ins. I went into the AU manager and KORG wavestation is listed nd I tried uninstall and reinstall. Am I supposed to use MIDI in stead of sofware instrument ?
BTW its Korg Legacy Collection v1.6.6 Logic is v 9.1.3 and Its on a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHZ Duo Core with 8GB RAM
Any help appreciated... I searched but couldnt find any relevant threads
    M

Set Logic to open in 32-bit mode, then open a default empty project (not one you're working on) Logic should validate the plugins... after it's finished, close Logic, re-set to 64-bit mode and you should be ok.

  • Ai CS6 continues to not work- additional problem with plug-ins.

These messages came up while trying to open these two files. They open after clicking OK, but the applicaion bar is completley blank and with no tools showing.

Watch Illustrator as it boots to see of if initialzing plug ins is showing, or if it acts as if shift is being held down and boots really quick (most your keys commands would not work then).
Applications >> utilities >> disk Utility >> repair Permissions.
Reset your prefs: immediately after booting Ilustrator, hold down 3 keys: shift, command, opt
Go to applications >> Illustrator 6 >> Plug ins >> Illustrator Filters  (is offset path there?) if not you may have something wrong with your install and many of your plug ins may be missing. The plug ins mentioned are mostly in 3 of the folders.
Check that your plug ins don't say somehting liek size is 0k. Here is the info for my plug in.

  • Plug-Ins not auto-updating, but auto update is set.

I wanted to warn others about this problem.
I read an earlier answer where someone said that Plug-Ins won't auto-update, perhaps that is correct, but if Plug-Ins don't auto-update, why is there an auto-update feature?
(Tools-AddOns-Updated Automatically & Check for Updates both don't catch that plug-ins are out of date).
I'm not talking about random obscure programs, this is the Java Platform & Toolkit. Shouldn't the Add-Ons options clearly state that they don't automatically update or check for updates?
Fortunately I have decent anti-virus software, but I didn't discover this until I picked up a Trojan and started reviewing every single program on my computer to see if I had missed any updates.

Thanks, I just wanted to warn others if they got confused, the way the options are set up it is a little confusing for us who aren't familiar with the difference between Addons & Plugins, it looks like you are choosing an Auto-Update for the Plugins too.
I also figured out that the Java program is not auto-updating even though I set the auto-update feature on the program itself (which has nothing to do with any Firefox issues), so I will have to remember to check their support and also manually check the program pretty often.

  • Missing plug-ins in Logic Pro X after updating OS X Yosemite to 10.10.2

I just updated Yosemite from 10.10.1 to 10.10.2 on my MacBook Pro and opened Logic X after the reboot to find that all of my plug-ins are missing. This includes not only the third party plug-ins that I have installed on my machine but specifically with this session file, the Apple/Logic plug-ins are missing as they are the only ones I was using.
I've deleted the cache file in the library/audiounits folder on my machine thinking there was some glitch there but that did not help.
Does Logic X somehow open in 64bit in Yosemite and the Apple plug-ins are opening at 32bit thus rendering them incompatible? I've read that that Logic X does not support 32bit plug-ins but if that were true why are the Apple plug-ins missing, they are 64bit correct?
btw, where has the Audio Units Manger been moved to in Logic X?

I just uninstalled/reinstalled Logic X. Apple plug-ins are still missing.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? I can't find any mention of this specific issue online here or elsewhere...

  • Transferring GB plug-ins from computer to computer

I recently transferred all my Garage Band loops and plug-ins from my old G4 to my new iMac. Unfortunately the plug-ins don't work. I have copied the .au components to the Library> Audio> Plug-Ins> Components folder but no success with the plug-ins.
    Any suggestions? Thanks.

they're probably all PowerPC plug-ins, and not "universal". PPC plug-ins will not work on an intel mac.

  • Moving Plug-Ins?

Having installed PSCC(2014) just now, I'd want to use the plug-ins from PSCC.  Can I successfully copy them into the (2014) plug-in folder as in the past, or must I go through the process of installation using my compatible Applications?
If so, I'd no longer need the previous PSCC.
    Thanks.

    Hi Giboz
    Do:
Check the plug-in manufacturer's website for the latest version of your plug-in
Use the manufacturer's plug-in installer to install their plug-ins
    Don't:
Do not manually drag plug-ins from a previous version of Photoshop's plug-ins folder to Photoshop CC's 'Plug-Ins' folder
Please let me know if this helps.
