    It sounds like your Click Wheel iPod is showing a sad iPod icon. If it will go into Disk Mode you may be able to restore it, take a look at the article and quote below for more information about the alert and possible resolutions.

    Resolution
    In most cases, the sad iPod icon indicates a hardware issue. If you are able to force iPod into Disk Mode, then it may not be a hardware issue, and you should try to restore your iPod with the latest software.
    If you cannot force your iPod into disk mode and restore it, then your iPod is in need of service. Set up an iPod Service Request or make a reservation at the Genius Bar before visiting your local Apple Retail Store. To make a reservation:
    Go to http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/.
    Choose an Apple Store location.
    Click the Reserve link under Genius Bar.
    Choose iPod.
    Select your desired reservation date and time.

    Ok,
    When I Set up my Messages Beta it asked me for an Apple ID when I launched the App for the First time
    I did not get the sense that there was any other way to proceed at this point without an Apple ID.
    Are you saying that you did manage to get Messages to Start without entering an Apple ID originally and you now want to Add One ?
    Or since it failed the first time Messages beta will still start now but does not have an iMessage account ?
    Or are you trying to Change the Apple ID that is in use ?

    I tried to Delete my Apple ID iMessage account and it cannot be done.
    I can take It Off line (Deselect "Use this Account") but the minus Button is not highlighted for the Apple ID itself in the righthand pane or the iMessage Account when highlighted at the bottom of the list.
    It seems to the only way to change a name is to add the new Email style ID and delete the old one.

    Thank you for the update Dlawrenceusa.  I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the updates that are failing to apply to determine the exact cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Creative Cloud Help / Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC.  You are welcome to post any specific error messages you discover to this discussion.

  • Apple support page doesn't recognize my serial number of my iphone 5. Instead it have another iPhone 5 serial number that I don't know where it comes from

    I was reading on the internet that Apple just made an iPhone 5 battery replacement program and that I need to provide the serial number to see if my iPhone cualify for the replacement. So i went to the support page where i found the link to the replacement program and just need to put my iPhone serial number and see if it cualify something that i was sure it will because the one that were affected are the one that where bought between septermber 2012 (the month i bought it) and january 2013. When i click submit i got a message that says .
    When i saw that "I already replaced the battery" I log in to my account on the support page and I didn't found my actual and only iPhone 5 i have registered in my products, BUT i have another iPhone 5 case open and 3 services to that iPhone 5 i don't know and its not mine. That iPhone have another very different serial number and when i check the services they have done are from an Apple Store in California and I from Puerto Rico.
    Can someone explain me what to do or anyone have this same problem, tell me

    It's possible that if they serviced your phone before, they replaced the entire unit making you ineligible for the battery replacement. Have you had your iPhone replaced thought Applecare recently?

    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using theMicrosoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

  • Apple Support Page - Search Query Not Working

    Dear helpers,
    There's something mysterious happening on the Apple Support page. When I enter a search query, weird (and not so wonderful) characters appear in my search string, ruining my search, resulting in 0 results every time.
    For instance, imagine I enter "bug report" in the search, press enter/return. The results page shows the (few or no) results, but in the search is the string:
    "bug report kmosx5"
    Where is the extraneous 'kmosx5' coming from. OSX5 would suggest it's related to OSX 5 (Leopard). Is this a 'behind-the-scenes' filter for the search string to restrict this to OS X10.5...? Either way, it shouldn't be concatenated onto my search string, surely!
    Any ideas?

    As joshz posted, you may prefer to use the Advanced Search Page.

  • How do you use multiple apple id's with messages beta?

    With the wife and myself each having our own apple Id's for imessage because of multiple iphones/ipads, how do we make messages beta on the mac work for us?  I tried logging in as me when I installed it and it works just fine with me messaging her and her back to me but how do I log out from me and log in as her if she were the one sitting at the mac?  I don't see anything that lets me do that.

    hmm, that's a trick one! what I would do is go to Messages>preferences>accounts and then select imessages and then select account details and then sign out. Then your wife will need to sign in with her apple id.

    let me know if that works because I've never actually tried it.
    simply adding both of your accounts to be reached at will prove to be faulty because when you reply you can only reply with the one email address. And even if you switch caller id's it probably still won't work. So I think my method would be the easiest way to do that at this time.

    Whilst trying to find an answer from the apple support pages i'm finding lifes a misery. Itunes was sync before the update and all was well. How can i get my phone sync up properly again, Thanks Apple!

    Am not sure  how to solve this  issue ,, but i had an old MAcBook Pro that i was using with for somt time and i got a notre MACBook pro and on both of them am using the same apple accouny to purchase or download application . . now APP store is not allowing to upgrade or purchase any applications on my  newest MAC posting this message " To Update this application , sign in to the account  you used to purchase it"  .. and could not find a solution to this by signing out and in didnt work ,, any clues is much appreciated..

    Thanks for you reply.  I'm 99% positive that I'm using the user id and password that I used to set up my computer.  That's why I'm stumped.  I read the solution someone else suggested (type your user name without @gmail and create a new password.  When I tried it, I was asked for my birthday.  It didn't recognize it.  I know I got my birthday correct. Oh well...

    I recently bought some new albums and can't play them on my ipod

    I just encountered the same problem on my 2 month old MBPro.  I found a work around by changing USB ports.  As for the actual cause or the reason why that worked, I dont know.  The USB port I was using works fine with my phone or other USB devices.
