Apple Push has stopped working

Hi, Windows Vista comes up with this message when I attach my 4th gen ipod touch.  The error message says 'A problem caused the program to stop working.  Windows will close the program ...'.  Anyone have a fix for this?

I would try removing and then reinstalling all the Apple software:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
The above includes a link for XP.

  • Apple Push has stopped working - Exchange Server Install

Just installed MS Exchange server.  Set up my Windows 7 Pro machine and Outlook 2010.  Everytime I open Outlook on my machine I receive a Apple Push has stopped working error.
    Problem Details:
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: APSDaemon.exe
    Application Version: 2.1.14.3

    You need to have iTunes recreate the Apple Push Service. To do this you need first !!!CLOSE ITUNES!!! to go to;
    1. My Computer(or Computer if using vista or higher)
    2. C: Drive (Usually called “Local Disk”)
    3. Program Files (If you are using a 64 bit version of windows it will be in Program Files x86. To check if you are using 64 bit right click on computer and go to properties)
    4.Common Files
    5. Apple
    6.Apple Application support
So your navigation bar should look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support.
In there you are going to be renaming the file APSDeamon to APSDeamon.BAK and agree to any prompts that may appear. When you next open iTunes it will force iTunes to recreate that file as it is no longer able to find it. Now your apple devices should work again with your computer.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

  • My apple TV has stopped working completely.  Just a flashing Amber light

My Apple TV has stopped working.  When it is turned on I just get a flashing amber light and it does not turn blue as normal.  It doesn't connect wirelessly to my Mac and it doesn't connect to the TV.  I do not get the setup menu and it is totally unresponsive to the remote control.  I have tried connecting it directly to my Mac but this also does nothing.  I am at a loss as to what to do next.  I have a lot of films and music stored on it and I am worried that I have lost it all.  I am not sure which generation it is, but it is the silver one, model number A1218.  Can anyone help?

Unfortunately, it sounds as though your Apple TV 1 has failed. Unlike the later Apple TVs, you cannot connect it to iTunes to restore it.

  • Apple push as stopped working

I have this message when i shut down itunes"apple push as stopped working" since i download itunes 11, alos my remote doesn't work properly

    See this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16502356
To summarize that thread, a workaround for this problem is to set APSDaemon.exe to always run as an administrator. Here's how to do it in Windows 7 (Vista should be almost exactly the same).
Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support"
    Right-click on APSDaemon.exe
Under the Compatibility tab, check "Run this program as an administrator"

  • My Apple MacBookPro has stopped working. Help!!!!

I, very proudly, bought an Apple MacBook Pro with some family inheritance and I have had nothing but problems with it since purchase in October 2011.
So disappointed I have spread nothing but bad words since.
I currently live in Spain and have taken it to the local 'authourised dealer' in Malaga for repairs since it started going wrong.
The same recurring problem is the inability to start it up. I seem to have the dreaded 'black screen of death'.
It has been 'sorted' twice now, but within two weeks of sorting it, it has the same recurring problem.
Short of throwing the machine in the skip, after spending £1849 on it, then €150 on repairs, I am taking this final step to approach you for help.
In advance of your assistance.........thank you.
    Gerry Quinn

    Gerry,
do you know which approaches the authorized dealer has taken so far, in their two attempts to try to solve the problem?

  • Apple Mobile Device Service has stopped working. Vista SP2, iTunes 10.5

Hi there. I've been having an issue syncing my iPhone to iTunes. Here's a description of the problem:
-With an up-to-date Apple Mobile Device Service, error windows constantly pop-up saying that it has stopped working. If I close the error window, another one pops up fifteen seconds later.
-If I plug my iPhone into my computer, it is not recognized in iTunes, because Apple Mobile Device Service is not running.
-This error does not occur on my desktop PC, so I have been able to sync my iPhone by loading all of my files onto a USB and transferring them onto it. However, I would much rather not.
Here are the steps that I have taken:
-Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 10.5 with firewall off
-Individually uninstalled and reinstalled the Apple Mobile Device Service with firewall off
-Stopped and Restarted the Apple Mobile Device Service in Administrative Tools -> Services
-Extensively searched the internet for solutions
-Replaced Apple Mobile Device Service for iTunes 10.5 with Apple Mobile Device Service for iTunes 10.1 (This worked PARTIALLY. The error windows have now stopped popping up altogether, but I cannot sync with iTunes because the Apple Mobile Device Service is out of date. It asks me to update it, I agree, and I get the Apple Mobile Device Service that spawns error windows and still does not allow me to sync my iPhone.)
I am running Windows Vista SP2, and iTunes 10.5. My Internet Security suite is AVG Internet Security 2011. My iPhone is running iOS 5.0.0. Here is a full report of the error:

Just a shot in the dark, but have you downloaded any program from Megaupload, like MegaKey?  If so then that is your problem. I had been having the exact same problem for the past 2 weeks. I couldn't figure out what it was and tried everything that you have.. Then was on a board and someone mentioned Megakey. Having tried everything else, I uninstalled the program and reinstalled the current ITunes and AMDS. My Ipad and Iphone connected with no problem.

  • PLEASE HELP!!! My 'Apple mobile device helper has stopped working'!

Today i bought the new 3G iPhone so i went online to download the new 7.7 iTunes software. Now when i go into my iTunes a Windows pop up appears telling me that my 'Apple mobile device helper has stopped working' and that it is diagnosing the problem. The thing is that it doesn't diagnose the problem, the same box just keeps popping up over and over again.
I am not very computer literate and have tried everything that i can think of but nothing has worked.
Please can someone help because i'm absolutely dying to use my new iPhone; i queued up from 6 am to get my hands on it! :0(

I'm just a simple user. I don't know how to fix it any more than any of the other posters with this problem. I've looked around in control panel, done some poking and prodding with services and processes, and can't find a reasonable way to stop the messages without completely hosing up iTunes. I know the messages are annoying as ****, and nobody likes the idea, but sitting around and doing nothing is sometimes a whole lot better then doing something that makes it worse. See if you can find a document from Apple that tells you how to go back to the previous version of iTunes. I've seen that course of action mentioned several times for previous releases of iTunes upgrades, so the instructions for it must exist in another forum.
I just think, from the number of posts, that Apple is going to have to get a fix out pretty quickly, because this error pretty much shuts down their products on the Windows platform. They can't afford to let it go on for very long.

  • Apple mobile device service has stopped working - continues

    Hi
I have a 16GB iPhone with 02 in the UK.
My first iPhone with 02 had trouble receiving calls with about 90% of incoming calls going straight to voice mail. I also couldn't backup that phone as every time I tried with iTunes, i got the message "Apple mobile device service has stopped working" about a minute into backup.
This happened continually, I re-installed iTunes so many times, still with little luck. I tried a different cable too. All on a brand new Dell Vostro desktop PC.
So, I took the phone back to 02 with these problems. 02 promptly replaced my iPhone.
Now, I have exactly the same problem. I obviously have nothing to restore on the iPhone as I was never able to back it up in the first place.
Every time I try and backup the iPhone I get the error "Apple mobile device service has stopped working". Again i tried a different cable and have removed and re-installed iTunes several times.
    Anyone any ideas?
    Regards
    D

I was having this same problem with my new iPad 3G. It was driving me insane and preventing me from syncing the iPad.
I removed and re-installed all Apple components from my computer as recommended (in the recommended order). But, the problem persisted.
The error message looked just like the one posted above:
    Problem signature
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe
    Application Version: 16.691.14.1
    Application Timestamp: 4ba3b8fe
    Fault Module Name: CoreFoundation.dll
    Fault Module Version: 1.550.17.21
    Fault Module Timestamp: 4b8cb530
    Exception Code: c0000005
    Exception Offset: 0000db6b
    OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033
The SOLUTION came when i discovered that there were two copies of CoreFoundation.dll on my computer.
One was in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support.
The other was in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support.
I removed the copy of CoreFoundation.dll from the Mobile Device Support folder, and the problem vanished.
    I hope this helps.
    -Steven.
