Apple remote app not showing up in itunes

i have the app updated to the newest version and itunes updated but it wont show up in itunes to connect the app to my computer home sharing is the same for both and on the same wifi

I have just found the problem to be windows firewall on my library PC
I can only presume there has been an update to windows firewall or iTunes
all the relevant programs were on the allowed list
I'm now currently running with firewall turned off on my library PC.
I'll update when i have found the rogue setting.

Apple remote app not finding anything

My Apple TV just updated its software. Home sharing is on.
iTunes home sharing is on too.
When I open apple remote app on iPhone 5, nothing is showing up.
I turn off home sharing, then turn it on and sign in remote app.
Still Apple TV or iTunes library not showing in remote app.
I turn off wifi on iPhone, then back on.
Then they how up.
If I restart Apple TV and iTunes, they disappear from remote, and then I have to turn off/on wifi again.
Is this how it's supposed to work now?!
Or is something wrong?!

The separate wireless router that Virgin supplied is connected to the Time Capsule via ethernet and is broadcasting an 802.11g only signal and acting as an ethernet hub for a few devices.
You didn't mention it, so I just wanted to be sure ... is this separate wireless router configured as a bridge? If so, can devices, connected to it, "see" network clients connected to the TC ... without using VNC?

Apple Remote App not reflecting recently added genres

During the initial round of cataloging movies, etc. and adding some custom genres, they were immediately reflected on the Apple Remote App. However, subsequent additional genres are not showing up. If I use the trackpad interface of the Ipad to navigate the Apple TV menus, the new genres are there...they just aren't on reflected on the remote app.
Any ideas?

You are not alone. I tried all the fixes, multiple times, but nothing worked.
I think there's nothing to do but wait. The fact that many of us are experiencing the same problem with the iPad Remote app, and the fact that the iPhone Remote app still works fine, tells me it's a glitch in the software - maybe Apple TV 5.2, maybe iOS 6.1 (I updated to both yesterday).
Meanwhile, since Apple does not read these forums, I suggest we all leave comments on their feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html
That way they'll at least know a bunch of us are having this issue.
Hopefully Apple will issue a fix soon.

New Apps not showing up in iTunes

I just downloaded 3 new free Apps from the iTunes store. None of them are showing up in iTunes to sync to my iPod. When I use Finder and do a search for them they all show up in my Mobile Applications folder with the rest of them, they just will not show up in iTunes. Is there a glitch or did I do something wrong? One of them I actually paid for and when I tried to download it again it said that I have already paid for the App and I could download it again for free. Tried that and it is still not showing up. Want to figure this out before I purchase any more.

Remote.app not being recognized by iTunes

I had Remote.app working with my computer form my iPhone and iPod touches. But the other day my DSL modem went out, and I had to get a new one. Now Remote.app can not connect to iTunes on my computer. The Wi-fi works fine on my iPhone and iPod touches, and can access the internet with no problems for them, but I can't connect to any app on my computer now, from my mobile devices. I followed the directions for setting up the Firewall, and iTunes show's properly in the list of acceptable applications. But still no luck. I also use Cha-Ching and can no longer access that app either. Both iTunes and Cha-Ching on my computer don't see that the device is connected. I have been through my setup for my DSL modem and believer I have everything setup properly, but I guess I need to call Qwest and see if they can help. Just thought I would ask here and see if anyone else has experienced this, and what they did to fix it.

try a complete *power cycle* of your equipment. shut everything down for @ least 15 minutes.
then, in intervals of 5 minutes, turn the modem back on, followed by your router, and last your computer.

Suddenly all my Apple TVs do not show up in iTunes anymore

Ok, to say this right at the beginning: YES, I am an Apple product freak. I got several Apple products that I am synchronizing with my iTunes.
Three of these - 3 Apple TV (2 first gen and 1 ATV 2) were working FINE until about a four days ago. I had them all running in the same network. The two first gen ATV were showing up in iTunes; the second gen was able to access everything through the home sharing. All was well.
About four days ago I used my ATVs the last time without problem.
Today I cannot get ANY of the ATV to work in iTunes/access iTunes. They do not show up in the iTunes menu, I cannot access my music/tv shows/movies ... nothing works. I CAN access the internet. I can download new tv music/tv shows/movies. I can access the iTunes store and buy anything I like. I can access youtube through the ATVs ... everything internet related work - just not the connection to iTunes on my Win 7 computer (which can also access the internet and can ping all three devices without problem).
I deinstalled iTunes (now several times), deinstalled Norton 360 (because I read here in the Forum, that the Firewall might be the problem. I opened the ports for iTunes in my router (which I did not need before, but did it anyways just to test). Nothing works. I even reset all my ATV and reinstalled them to the newest firmware/software version - no effect. I am at the end of my wits. I tried everything both via Ethernet cable and WiFi ...
Now - each time I reinstalled iTunes it pretty much automatically had all the configuration iTunes had before I uninstalled it. Because I (at least) think I tested all other factors, I wonder if maybe a problem could have occured within the configuration which is now being copied to each new installation of iTunes. Does anyone got an idea, how to circumvent that?
Or does anyone have any other idea, which I did not try already? I would be very grateful, if someone could help me out with this problem. THANK YOU

Please disregard. After a new installation of Win 7 and new iTunes everything works again. Not sure what the problem was ... but at least it works now. Thanks everyone!

I have installed the latest Apple Remote Desktop to both my Admin and client computer. In Preferences>Sharing Apple Remote Desktop does NOT show up as a choice to be clicked. Is there something that I have missed?

On your iMac go to iTunes > Preferences > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases.
Then look under your TV Shows and see if it shows your purchased episodes there with a cloud icon.

Ipod touch is frozen on apple logo & does not show up in itunes or computer

My ipod touch 4G is frozen on th apple logo. I can't simply restore it because it doesn't show up in itunes (lastest) or in computer (I have vista). I tryd using the apple online troubleshooter but nothing works.

App not showing icon in iTunes Application

I created an .icns for my iPhone application, entered its name into 'Info.plist->icon file' and when I build the application and view it in Finder, the application displays the icon image. But when I drop the App onto the Application window of iTunes, there's no icon image, just the default icon. And the Get Info says there's no artwork.
Did I miss a step?

I'm not sure what you expect iTunes to do with your app. The place to check your iPhone icon is in the Simulator and the device. darkpegasus is correct, the icon needs to be a 57 x 57 pixel png file. An .icns is for an OS/X app, so that's why Finder likes it. I wouldn't expect it to work in an iPhone app, but even if it shows up it's not the correct format and won't be accepted by the store.
I'd also recommend leaving info.plist->Icon file blank and using the default name for your icon, which is Icon.png. I've had bad luck with renaming that file and changing the plist field; maybe just a mistake at my end, but why change from the default if you don't have to?

IPhone remote does not show up in iTunes

my iTunes does not recognize my iPhone remote, it doesn't even show up so I could enter the passphrase.
On another machine with Vista it works, so my WiFi-router settings should be alright.
Now I figured it must have something to do with my configuration. I already disabled the windows firewall and repaired iTunes. This did not help. I ran out ouf ideas, any solution?

Apps not showing up in iTunes

Recently, I've noticed that everytime I open up iTunes, it begins to copy all of my applications in a redundant fashion as if it doesn't recognize my apps. for example... it will do Snake 1.app, and won't recoginze Snake.app, I know that's not the extention, I'm in a hurry. Anyways, I'm just curious how I can get iTunes to recognize my apps folder again. I'll provide more info later, bye!
