  • I have two ipads with the same apple id but my 3 year old uses one of them, how do i update hers witht he apps she can use instead of everything that is on min as well?

I have two ipads using the same apple id.  My 3 year old uses one to play learning games.  How do I set them up so my apps arent displayed on her ipad?

When you connect that iPad to iTUnes, go to the summary page and scroll down, there should be a box saying 'automatically update' or something to that effect. De select that.
With automatically update on, what you buy on one goes onto the other. but with that box off you can choose.
On the iPad itself, it's under
    Settings
    iTUnes and App Stores
and then you can choose what you want automatically updated between the two devices.

How do I get playlists off of my old ipod to my new one?

    Hello yogawithlezie,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
You will need to first move your music from your iPod to your computer and then sync to the new iPod.

  • I want a iPad 3 now cause apple ripped me off  I have only had my iPad for 2 months

How can I trade my iPad2 in for the iPad 3

Not to mention, there has been talk on this coming out this year for MORE than two months.  Don't blame Apple!
Wait a minute, I've only had mine for 10 months!  Holy CRAP   I was ripped oof TOO !!!!
I can't believe how many of the whiners posts I have read in the last two days.
It's one thing to just ask if there is a trade in policy, it's another thing to say Apple ripped you off.

Should each person in my house have their own apple id and password?
Can each of the different ID's be linked back to my apple account so that when they purchase apps and music it will be charged to my credit card?

Ask Google... they locked you out of the email account.

  • I want to set up an apple id for my 6 year old but i aint got a credit card

i want to set up family sharing and create an apple id for my 6 year old daughter,it says i need a credit card to do it, but i aint got one, only a debit card which ive used for years on my apple id.what can i do? really think that the family sharing route is best but what can i do if i havent got a credit card.please help
    Thank you

Try getting a credit card from the same people who issued the debit card. If I read the home sharing paper properly after your set it up with the credit card you can change the payment method back to debit.

  • My 5 year old iPod classic will not play on my Yamaha CRX-332 cd receiver but my 3 year old iPhone 3g will.  Any suggestions to get my iPod to read the receiver or get the receiver to read the iPod?

My 5 year old iPod classic will not play on my Yamaha CRX-332 cd receiver but my 3 year old iPhone 3g will.  Any suggestions to get my iPod to read the receiver or get the receiver to read the iPod?  The receiver should be able to play the iPod with a USB connection or with the iPod dock.  Neither works with my iPod however both work with my iPhone 3g.  The iPod has the latest software.  Any thoughts?

If it is a 5-year old iPod, there is the possibility that the receiver simply won't work with the older software (there hasn't been an iPod Classic software update in years). You might try contacting Yamaha support (or doing a google search) to see if it is a known issue. One solution (probably the easiest) is to get a cable that connects a min jack (i.e., a headphone jack) to stereo cables, and just connect the iPod up that way. You eliminate the risk of corrupting the iPod, and it is a solution that should always work. Just use a wall charger to power the iPod.

  • Apparently if you have a five year old iPod you can swap it with another one, is this true?

i heard that if you have a five or more year old ipod you can swap it for a ipod nano is this true. if so how do i do it
    Farzad Jami

Never heard of it...  A "five or more year old iPod" is like a 4th or 5th gen iPod (or iPod mini).  Not worth all that much...
BUT if you had an ELEVEN year old iPod from 2001 that is still working, you could probably sell it on eBay and buy yourself a new iPod nano (or maybe even iPod touch).

  • My iPad is a few years old but my battery is running down very quickly even when not in use? I have about 16% usage still available !

My iPad is a few years old but the battery is running down very quickly, is there anything I can do ?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • How do you when Ipod's battery is dead?

Accidently left my cased ipod in my jacket pocket and threw it into the wash. It was only in there for a couple of minutes but thats all it took. I knew the Ipod wasn't too wet because I couldn't see any water under the screen, but the battery was gone. I let it dry for a couple of days then I plugged it into the computer. The apple logo had a lot of lines through it, then it faded away. It was exactly the same when I was playing a handheld when the batteries were bad. Does this mean my Ipod's battery is dead.
    Presario   Windows XP

I'm not giving up yet. I went to a website where a guy left his ipod in the washing machine for a complete cycle. You could see water under the screen and he didn't let his dry and it still worked.

  • Ipod nano 2nd gen, 5 years old, has short battery life. Can the battery be replaced? If not, does apple have a replacement program? how much?

    Details:
5 year old 2nd Gen Ipod nano only works for an hour the most. Battery may be approaching end of life.
Can this still be replaced? if not, what are my options? Does apple have a replacement program?

Just would like to share with you, my experience with a friend's Nano with a smiliar problem
The battery level could be too low to boot up the OS of the iPod, which even may corrupted (if you see a folder icon).
The best way to fix it, is to connect it with different device other than your PC as it is likely not get charge at all, e.g.
    1. car charger
    2. ac charger
    3. ipod speaker dock system
    4. using firewire cable
    5. with a Mac computer
The key is to charge the battery level up to the minimum for you to put your Nano into disk mode

once you see the "tick" mark, connect it with a computer, and try to do a Restore for your iPod. In case you still do not manage to get your iPod to be recognized by a PC, I am afraid you have to connect it with a Mac, very likely it will allow you to do a Restore as I did last night
