Apple's Application Uploader requires a MAC computer. Is there a solution

The subject says it all.
Is this a problem that will be fixed? If I have to buy a Mac, then I may as well develop apps on the Mac. Objective C isn't that difficult, but the price of a Mac is daunting when I'm already windows based.
and in any case - I LIKE CS5+AS3 and the Packager.
but no solution means no more development.
Robotic

Really? to put it on the app store?
If so then i guess there is no possible way around this (well not legally (hackingtosh?)) but you could allways ask someone you know to do it for you.. Im sure you know someone who own a mac?

Brilliant, that clears things up - there is a single
audio in that is next to the PC in so I guess I need
one of the single cables you have mentioned,
hopefully the Apple Store can point me in the right
direction when I go in to buy my Mini.
If the TV has a single minijack-type audio input, then the cable you need is a very standard one that can be found almost anywhere that cables for audio/home theatre systems are sold. In the old days it would be easy to point you towards the nearest Tandy, but as I understand it they're now gone. However, even supermarkets such as Tesco are likely to have something this basic!
No doubt Apple will release an Intel Core 2 Duo
version the day after I pick it up.
There's no doubt that at some point Apple will revise the range and make new mini's faster or more powerful - and it may be that it happens next week at the Macworld Expo. I'd bet there are a few people holding on for a few days to see if new minis are announced there, and you might want to do the same if it's of concern, but the existing models are plenty powerful, and more than enough for most user's needs.
Thanks for all your help, much appreciated.
You are most welcome - and please come back and post again if you have any further questions or any problems once you've got your system!

  • How to upload from old mac computer to new mac computer

I'm thinking of buying new mac computer and was wondering how would i upload all my files from old Mac computer to the new one? I assume there must be a quick ad easy way to do this for Mac... My current Mac OS is 10.5.8...

  • I have changed my apple ID but cannot get my Mac computer to change it on iCloud.  I have signed out but do not know how to sign back in with my new id.

I have successfully changed my apple ID and password, but cannot get my Mac computer to change it on iCloud.  I have accessed system preferences, iCloud and sign out.  But now I do not know how to sign in using my new id and password.  I would like iCloud to work on my Mac so that it will sync to my iPhone and iPad.  I have installed all of the latest software.  How do I change this account on my Mac?

Do you have your Mac backed up?
If not, you should use Time Machine to back up your Mac to an external hard drive just "in case".
But if all you did was change your existing ID, then deleting the Calendar infomation from the Mac when you sign out should not be an issue. Since it is the same Apple ID, it is the same iCloud account (just with a different name), so your Contacts, Calendars, etc. are stored in iCloud. When you sign back in, you will have the option to sync Contacts, Calendars, Notes, etc. with iCloud - it should already be checked. Just sign back in, and your iCloud info will re-download to your Mac.
I just tried this, and all of my stuff showed up when I signed back in. Notes took a couple of seconds to load once I opened them, but they are all there.
Note: If you are signing on with a brand new Apple ID, then nothing will be downloaded because it will be an entirely different iCloud account. But if it is the same Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID with just a new email, then it will all be restored.
    Cheers,

  • Photoshop CS5 compatibility to Apple products and uploading program to Mac without disk

I recently purchased a Mac Air and wanted to make sure that my version of Photoshop (CS5) was compatible to Apple products and whether it can be installed on the Mac without a disk, as we have misplaced ours.
    Thanks!

    Download CS5 products
The rest is irrelevant. Yes, there are compatibility issues, but since Adobe doesn't support it, anyway, you are on your own, no matter what.

  • I have CS4 (Windows) and now have a Mac computer, is there any way I can download to the Mac?

Does anyone know if there is a way to download my Windows CS4 to my recently purchased IMac.

No. you are long past any upgrade and platform swap eligibility. You can only buy a new license or sign up for CC. It's a moot point, anyway. There are serious compatibility issues with CS4 on OSX 10.10, so it would be nothing but trouble.

  • New Apple Keyboard Incompatible w/OS 10.4.11 is there a Solution?

I have a new Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad but it isn't  working correctly with my Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 running os 10.4.11.
The problem is the top row of Function Keys (such as monitor brightness keys, speaker volume and on/off keys, etc) do not work correctly.
Is there any sort of software patch I can download to correct the way the keyboard is programmed so it will work correctly with my computer's OS, or is any other workaround?
    Thanks a bunch.

Hello, I consider what Apple did with that KB silly as can be.
I think Spark cured this for another person and the same problem...

  • Changing to a different operating system was rejected by Adobe (...there is no option available to swap the platform from windows to MAC). Is there any solution?

Although this possibility still existed and Adobe here (Order product | Platform, language swap) states that one can. Was rejected. Any advice?

Platform swaps are limited to the most recent released version only.

  • Developing applications with iPhone using Mac Mini PowerPC G4

I'm wondering if I can use a Mac Mini PowerPC single core to develop applications with iPhone. Based on the Apple's website http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/ the Mac OS Leopard general requirements are:
-Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    -512MB of memory
    -DVD drive for installation
    -9GB of available disk space
Any thoughts on this? Thanks in Advance.

You need an Intel-based Mac with Leopard to use the iPhone SDK:

No, the iPad has no IR receiver. (I think you mean "Airplay" and not "Airdrop", by the way.)

I took the time to research it and come across a couple of people who experienced the same trouble and so I listed some of there steps(with Credits) and  some people said that they worked.

OK, this worked for me:( Original Post by r0tt3n4pp13)
    1. Save iTunes install file to your desktop.
    2. Disconnect from internet.
    3. Disable Firewall/Security software.
    4. Run install. Note that it installs Application Support and a bunch of other software this time.
    5. Run iTunes.
    6. Enable Firewall/Security software.
    7. Reconnect to internet.
    8. Download Watchmen Director's Cut post haste.
    OR!
    (Original post by Cr4z33)
    1. Download and install WinRAR.
    2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
    3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
    4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.

My Mac Book Pro is currently runnng OS X v10.5.8. When I check for updates by clicking the apple icon it tells me that my computer is up to date.  What is the easiest way to upgrade to OS X Lion?  Do I need to get OS X Snow Leopard first?

Yes, there's been no updates to 10.5.8 for quite awhile, next is paid Upgrades.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they might still have it...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory, I say 6 GB
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading, I say 50 GB.
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.

  • HT201343 I have all the requirements on my computer for mirroring my computer to the apple tv but I don't have that option. why?

I just bought my macbook pro last March 2012 and I have all the computer requirements for the ability to mirror my computer to my apple tv however I do not have the option on my computer.  Why?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Open  > About this Mac, and tell me what OS X version you have. You need OS X 10.8 to be able to use AirPlay Mirroring.
If you haven't got Mountain Lion, open the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. While its installer is being downloaded, make a backup of your data and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
When its download finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will show up, so follow the steps. After upgrading, you will see the AirPlay menu on the menu bar.
If you don't want to upgrade, you can use a third-party app like AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com

  • I want to put music on my iPhone 4, but am not able to because I can not download the version of iTunes required because my mac computer is too old.

Am just having troubles in adding music to my new phone in that when I connect it to my computer it says that the phone requires the new version of iTunes being 10.5, but when I go to download this for my mac computer it says that this version of iTunes requires a different mac, meaning that my computer is too old.  So I am just wondering how I can get music onto my phone?!

You will have to upgrade your operating system version and possibly your whole computer.  We cannot provide more information easily until we know more about your system.
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Apple does tell you about required equipment for the iPhone -- in 8 point medium gray type on a light gray box.   The Store associates kind of automatically assume everybody is running a new model computer and the one I met when we bought our iPhone had never seen a pre-2008 Mac and was somewhat puzzled why anybody would own such an antique.
