Apple`s iCloud Drive in Windows, First! OMG

Thats the funniest thing from Apple that I saw last years. Not to Say something else....
Very well planned...lool
No warning before "accept" the upgrading method to iCloud Drive when update to iOS8! So... no more iCloud syncs between my files and docs (iDevices and Mac). but... no problem... maybe I can just run the Windows Partition in my mac to access the iCloud Drive...
Apple, Apple... You`re getting strange... God Bless You Steve, Rest In Peace.. Because marketing strategy are getting strange down here...
Many minimals issues are dominating apple`s systems that maybe become viral...
Hope You, Apple, plan better next movements...

I used mxtoolbox to decompose the delayed delivery headers and it appears to be that there are Gmail servers that have been blacklisted by a third party that Apple must use to filter spam.  So I put this squarely on Google to fix and get their SMTP servers cleared.

windows PC somehow the documents got deleted from my ios device. Kindly let
know if there is a way to retrive my data

sure pretty simple.  make a backup of your current settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US
then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
    then import pics to computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

  • ICloud drive with Windows 7

    Hello,
Has anybody managed to get this working with the purchase of extra storage?
I currently have 200GB in the cloud, but whenever I try to copy any data into it via Windows explorer, I get a message along the lines of "please purchase more space". I know this is nonsense, as from my icloud drive panel within Windows I can clearly see that I have only used 11GB of the 200GB available.
    Before anyone asks......
I am aware that I cannot copy files >15GB and no, I'm not trying to copy a folder structure anywhere near the size of the 189GB that is currently free. I get this message even if I try to copy a mere 10GB into my icloud drive.
I have had a call open with Apple Support regarding this for 2 weeks now. They are basically clueless.
I've subscribed to cloud storage and yet I don't have any. It is an absolute joke.
Please can somebody help where Apple Tech Support are painfully falling short?

    Hi, mspec55505.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you have questions about using iCloud Drive with Windows Vista.  Currently, you will need Windows 7 or later to use iCloud drive for Windows.

is there an update for Apple Mobile Device driver on Windows 7?

    Hello Ken C.,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Apple Mobile Device Service is included in the installation of iTunes.  As long as you have the most up to date version of iTunes on your computer, you will have the most up to date driver.  Are you having any issues with iTunes and syncing your devices?

  • Apple USB Modem driver for Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 on the boot camp partition. After running Boot Camp software update 3.2, all the windows drivers loaded except for the Apple USB modem.  Does boot camp v3.2 support the Apple USB modem in windows 7?

You can find the drivers in the following location.
Disc: Mac OS X Install DVD (The one used for installing Bootcamp)
    Folder: \Boot Camp\Drivers
    Exe: MotorolaSetup.exe
Modem: Motorola SM56 USB Data Fax Modem
Also, you may need to change the compatibility to "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" so it will install properly.
    Hope this will help.

  • Where is the updated iCloud Control Panel 4.0 for Windows with iCloud Drive compatibility?

When is iCloud for Windows 4.0 to be released. I saw a link but, now it's gone. It appears that Apple advertised iCloud Drive, but oddly wasn't prepared to have it ready.

Download link for iCloud Control Panel 2.0 for Windows. There is no mention of 32/64 bit versions on the page so presumably this is a 32-bit program capable of running on all flavours of Windows from Vista SP2 upwards.

  • ICloud Drive Documents Not Syncing from Windows 7 Enterprise

I've installed iCloud for Windows 4.0 on my work computer that's running Windows 7 Enterprise. The iCloud Drive appears in Windows Explorer. Folders and documents I created and saved from home on my iMac and Macbook Pro sync to the iCloud Drive in Windows Explore; however, when I save documents to the iCloud Drive folder in Windows Explorer from work, the files save locally (I'm assuming on the hard drive), but they don't actually sync to iCloud. Am I doing something wrong? Could it be there are some enterprise security settings interfering with the syncing process? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well chalk it up to network latency or simply serendipity, but my documents seem to be syncing properly now. I never post on here and the one time I think I finally have a real issue, the AI on these machines intervenes and makes me look like a fool.

  • HT201104 My Numbers file not updating in iCloud drive on Imac

both iPads working beautifully, but I cannot get the latest version on my iMac in iCloud d

    Hello james beresford-wylie,
So the updated Numbers file is being updated on iCloud as both iPads are seeing it, but the Mac is not getting the new version in iCloud Drive.
My first thoughts are does the update show on icloud.com (on the Mac) and is the file showing in the Finder but pending the download.

If you still don't see the latest changes or you see an "in-progress change" icon or the iCloud Drive icon in the notification area (system tray), try to save a new document to the iCloud Drive folder. Then check the iCloud Drive folder to see if the changes appear.
    Take care,

  • I do not see the iCloud Drive icon when I try to activate it on my iPad through iCloud. iOS 8.1

I want to activate iCloud Drive on my iPad. So, as mentioned in Apple Support Document I went gone to Settings >iCloud> and signed in to my Apple Id. However, I do not see the iCloud icon there to activate it. The same problem with my iPhone.
(I had opted not to activate iCloud Drive when I first installed iOS8).
I have iPad 3 and iPhone 5 with the latest version of iOS 8 installed on both. My iMac (OS X Yosemite) has iCloud Drive activated and it works fine.
    Could anyone help me please?
    Regards,
    Kaustuv

I think the feature has been disabled by the Enterprise Software installed on the devices (I use both devices for my work). I will reconfirm it though.

  • Icloud drive location

Hi, I just installed the new ICLOUD DRIVE for windows on my computer.  Everything works fine except that the installation program does not give me the option of specifying where I want the ICLOUD DRIVE forder on my windows PC.  By default, it is on C/USER/MYUSERNAME/ICLOUD DRIVE and there is no option to change that location after it is installed.  I personnaly place all my data on my (D) drive which is disctinct from my (C) drive where are all my programs and windows systems are installed.  On a regular basis, I take a full backup (with acronis) of my (C) drive and if ever I have a problem... a bug... a virus or for any reasons, I can restaure my (C) drive completly as it was when I took my backup.  Doing that would swipe my data on the ICLOUD DRIVE and I dont want that. Forcing apple customers to place the ICLOUD DRIVE folder on the (C) drive is not right.  Apple customer should have the option to specify where to put it.  Please make the appropriate corrections to allow specifying where to put the ICLOUD DRIVE folder.
I am using window 8 PC.

If you're familiar with the MKLINK command line in Windows you can go into safe mode (or shut down the iCloud application), move your iCloud Drive content over to the other disk, then use MKLINK to create a link from the location where iCloud for Windows expects to find it to the location you've moved it to. The only caveat is that the target disk must also be formatted with NTFS.
I've done this with several application caches (i.e., Outlook, OneNote) on my Windows 8.1 tablet to point Windows to caches that  normally exist in AppData to instead save them to a MicroSD card as my tablet only has 32GB internal storage, most of which is taken up by the OS and apps.
    Good luck!
    Creates a symbolic link.
    MKLINK [[/D] | [/H] | [/J]] Link Target
/D      Creates a directory symbolic link.  Default is a file
                    symbolic link.
/H      Creates a hard link instead of a symbolic link.
            /J      Creates a Directory Junction.
Link    specifies the new symbolic link name.
Target  specifies the path (relative or absolute) that the new link
                    refers to.

  • DANGER: Turning off iCould Drive DELETES documents on your local drive and terminates access to those documents on iCloud Drive

So, I wanted to move about 40 GB of my documents to iCloud Drive. I do so. The upload is very slow -- 3 days 24/7 with no end in sight. There's no status report available to know what the progress is. Internet service at work and home slows to a crawl. In frustration, I turn off iCloud Drive in Sys Prefs. HUGE mistake. In addition to losing access to the documents on iCloud Drive, which I expected, turning off iCloud Drive either deleted the original documents I'd moved to iCloud Drive, or deleted the map which, through iCloud Drive, I could view them in my /Library folder.
I think I can regain access to them on my "original" device (the device I used to move the documents to iCloud Drive in the first place), but I also think that requires the same glacial, bandwidth-hogging sync that moved them to iCloud Drive in the first place.
I had current Time Machine backups but, having lost access to the documents on iCloud Drive, those TM backups are now accessible only back to the files before I moved them to Cloud Drive and, of course, include none of the files I've created in those folders since moving them to iCloud Drive.
Has Apple really turned over software engineering for these sorts of new features to its most hateful competitors? iCloud Drive is a joke.

First, to access documents you must use an app designed for that specific Document type. So Pages will not be able to open PDFs. The Documents app by Readdle can handle PDFs though. In the latter case, you'd open the app, click the menu icon at its top left, and click Open to go to your iCloud Drive. With Pages, if you had files outside the main Pages folder, click + then iCloud and navigate to the file's location.

  • Accessing Pictures Held on iCloud Drive

Hi, I have been waiting for Apple's iCloud Drive offering for a while and want to transfer my docs/pics etc. to the new service - but the lack of a standalone Apple iCloud Drive Application is strange.  Yes, you can access Docs via Pages etc. but HOW do you access pictures.  I have over 30GB of Pictures and if I wanted to transfer them onto Apple's cloud after upgrading my storage option how would I then access them on my iPad/iPhone??
I uploaded a single image to iCloud Drive and looked into the Photo's app for any sign of an iCloud Drive folder to suggest they had been found and there is nothing - so how do you do it?
    Cheers

At the present time, you can only access data in iCloud drive from within apps that support it.  See http://www.imore.com/icloud-drive-clearing-up-confusion.
