Apple's Image

I am doing an assignment on Apples products and how in general their products look better than the competition. Have Apple ever gone on record to say how proud they are of their design and brand? A reference would be brillian for my assignment!
Thank you, I am not sure if this is the wrong section. Delete if you have to I understand fully.

Have Apple ever gone on record to say how proud they are of their design and brand?
Thousands of times. In just about every keynote speech Steve Jobs talks about how beautiful and well designed the product is, Apple often posts a video featuring Jonathan Ivey who talks about the design, as in the video about the MacBook Air:
http://www.apple.com/macbookair/
and something about design usually appears in every press release announcing new Apple hardware. All you need to do is look around Apple's web site and you'll probably find a bunch of other examples.
Regards.

  • Where can I locate the Apple Desktop images?

Hi all, am trying to find the Apple Desktop images as there is one which I'd love to have on my phone.
For the life of me though I can't seem to find where these images live. Any ideas?

Desktop pictures are located in :
    Macintosh HD/Library/Desktop Pictures
This should be standard on all machines, however for some reason they are not there, then simply use Spotlight to search for "Aqua Blue" (the name of one of the backgrounds) and you can find it that way.

  • Apple's Image Capture deleted all my iPhone Videos

I found out that because I have been using Image Capture to import all my pictures and videos from my 3GS to Aperture 3, with the setting "delete after finishing import" I have actually LOST ALL THE VIDEOS I took in the last months. Including those of family I only get to see once a year.
What happens is that it does NOT import the Video to Aperture 3, yet deletes it from my iPhone.
Is there any way I can recover these lost pictures? And how can a bug this serious still be around? This is AWFUL!
I have tried this: http://tech.kateva.org/2010/03/image-capture-import-to-aperture.html (the private/tmp folder). I also thought of restoring my iPhone to the date I still had the video's in my Camera roll, but sadly I did not connect my Time Machine drive to my Mac in those days so no iPhone backups are available.
Please help if you can, it would make me so happy to find back these videos.

I don't post alot on these forums but when I went searching for a solution to this problem and found this, I felt compelled.
I, too, tried to use Image Capture to import into Aperture 3 after migrating from iPhoto. I used IC because it offers the very handing "Delete After Import" feature that Aperture does not. After my first import, and selecting that delete option, I closed Aperture without verifying the import. The second import session I did look to verify and discovered an empty project called Imported Project and Imported Project(1). I tried to search the entire Aperture Library, but all photos and videos of my child from those two import sessions are gone. Poof.
Apple products have had some bugs in the past, but this is the first that causes loss of important data.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check your iTunes location is set correctly.
Try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general.
You should also try restarting your router.

  • Apple TV Image is off-centered

I am getting a green line (more like a ~10 pix bar) at the right of the screen when HDMI is set to "auto" in the video settings. When I set it to HDMI:RGB, The green line disappears but the screen is definitely still off-centered to the left. I tried switching back and forth. Sometimes the image becomes centered after the initial switch from "auto" to "RGB" but then moved back to the left again after a second or so. Has anyone experienced this?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you've determined that your Internet connection is good enough to maintain an HD stream (ie on another device), your local network may be suffering from interference or might be improperly configured.

  • Apple Tv image

I just turned my apple tv to watch some movies and the image is too big, I can bearly see the icons

You could try restarting the Apple TV and disconnecting the HDMI cable, however I think you are likely to find the issue is caused by a setting on the Apple TV.

  • Mounting an Apple disk image (Intel Mac) under other Unixes/Linux

    Hello,
I have started my MacBook in HDD Mode and connected it via Firewire-Cable to my "Main-Server" (Slackware Linux 11.0).
From there i created a "Disk-Image" from my MacBooks HDD using "dd"
I can mount the disk image within OS X without any problems, but i can´t mount it on the Linuxbox.
I have used this cmd under Linux : "mount -o loop -t hpfs image.dmg /mnt/tmp" But i am getting an error saying that it doesn´t seem to be a Apple File System Image.
I have made sure that support for Apple FS is "compiled-in" in the Linux-Kernel. If i do a file image.dmg i get this:
    x86 boot sector; partition 1: ID=0xee, starthead 254, startsector 1, 117210232 sectors, extended partition table (last)\011
Does anyone know how i can mount this image under Linux?
    Thanks,
    tyrtux.

I can't offer any solution yet, but here's a bit of information that might prove useful in understanding the problem.
"mount" on Linux mounts file systems, not disk images. A disk image is just that -- a bit-for-bit image of the sectors on what would be a physical disk. A file system is a portion of a disk structured in a specific way -- a section set aside for managing free space, a "root" directory, etc.
A partition is a logical subdivision of a disk. Usually, each file system on a disk completely fills one partition; but partitions may overlap, and one partition may contain any number of file systems.
A disk -- and therefore a disk image -- contains, within its first physical sector, a partition map. The map includes the start sector, size, and type of each partition. The type usually hints at what the file system -- if any -- of the associated partition is.
When you connect a physical drive to a Linux system -- be it IDE, SCSI, USB, or CD-ROM -- Linux scans the partition table. You can then use mount to get access to individual file systems on the device. When you use "mount -o loop", you are asking mount to connect a loopback device to a file that represents not a disk -- but a file system. This is why your attempt is failing; the disk image doesn't look like a file system, it looks like a disk -- it has a partition table of its own.
You might be able to map the file to a drive for VmWare, and access it from the virtual machine. Otherwise, I'd hunt around for software that deals with complete disk images, not just file systems.

  • Firefox + Apple store = image load problems

I've had this problem for a very long time. I prefer Firefox (Safari is extremely slow for me) and it loads every site just fine, even all of Apple.com pages, except for the Apple store.
Here is a screen shot of part of what I see in Firefox:
    http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/1406/picture1gn0.jpg
As you can see, just about every image is missing. I've already checked my adblock and I'm pretty positive it's not blocking the images. I even tried disabling my adblock and still didn't see any differences.
I've used Firefox for a very long time. Since before Firefox 2. I don't recall when the images stopped appearing, since I don't visit the store often.
Safari loads the images, but as I said, it's an extremely slow web browser, which is why I use Firefox.
Any help on getting those images to load in Firefox would be greatly appreciated.

I experienced a very similar problem. I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.12 (latest update) on a PC under Win XP.
It looks like all the javascript is being ignored. Instead, I see a VERY plain HTML web page for the Apple Store. Everything else on the Apple website looks great.
But after checking, I noticed that there are a ton of images from
    http://a248.e.akamai.net
And Adblock has this site nailed.
So I turned the adblocker off (actually, I just enabled this web address), and the site is now usable.
    Hope this helps.

  • Apple TV image doesn't match computer screen

We have a new Apple TV and are able to navigate using the TV screen to access content, but our MacBook Pro which is "synced" to the Apple TV displays different content and seems to operate independently. Any ideas on how to have the TV display and laptop monitor match?

Your MBP and the tv are different devices and work independently of each other, the display attached to the tv is not supposed to mirror your MBP display.

  • Apple logo image upon start up

My wife has a new iphone 4s. upon start up, the apple logo appears and there is a very subtle curving line thru the logo. Like a virtual scratch.
It appears at the bottom left hand side of the logo and runs thru the apple to the upper right hand side.
This line does not appear on the screen, there is no physical scratch on the glass, nor does it appear that the pixels at this spot are broken or defective.
Has anyone else seen this? I was thinking that perhaps this was a knock off phone and the logo change was a way around copyright issues...but she bought it at a VzW store

It is normal. That is the logo.

Rio de Janeiro, 12 de Novembro de 2011.
Assunto:  Garantia iPhone Apple 4 16G
Para  : Itautec  S/A - Área de Garantia iPhone Apple
    Prezados,

(complementing Fernando`s complaint with another complaint):
I don`t know if you know this, but the warranty services for the Iphone in Brazil are the worst ever (that I have ever experienced) - something that I have never imagined from a company that is Apple's authorized warranty supplier. I buy Apple's products since 2008 and luckly I have never experienced any malfunction, but still, I always thought that if someday any of your products should show any trouble it would be very well cared by Apple. Unfortunately that's not what has been happening with iPhone warranty in Brazil. I`m sorry to tell you this, but I don`t know who else should I call, before going to the Justice to have my iPhone fixed. My story follows...
On the August, 28th of this year I bought an iPhone 4 16GB Black from a TIM store (TIM is a mobile company in Brazil) at BarraShoppingSul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. By November 21 or 22, the "Home" buttom stoped working, suddenly, without any drops or accidents - it just stopped working at all. So the following days I did two full formats through iTunes, turned on or off the phone several times and nothing happened.
I searched in Apple's web page what to do and I found out that I had to contact my phone operator and so I did. At November, 22th by 11:50 pm I called TIM (by the number *144) and asked them about what to do. The attendant told me that he didn't know because their system was off-line and that TIM would make contact the other day (protocol number: 2011254975382). The other day, they didn't call me by the morning and as I was already deeply annoyed by the problem of my phone I decided to call them again. So I called Tim at 1:11 pm at November, 23th (protocol number: 2011255278407), asked the attendant about what should I do to use my iPhone warranty and have it fixed. The atendant said I should go to a Tim store with the iPhone and all my documents, there they would make a call to Itautec (the company responsible for the iPhone warranty in Brazil), and that an Itautec member would make contact by the next following 48 HOURS, and that is what I did. At November, 26th I went to the shopping to exactly the same store that I had bought my iPhone, showed the iPhone with the problem. The attendant called Itautec, she told them all my data (address, iPhone model number, contact information), then she got a protocol number from Itautec. She gave me the number, and told me Itautec would make contact in 5 DAYS. The protocol number from Itautec is 12243392. It has passed 15 days and no contact has been made!
Deeply unsatisfied, annoyed and ungry with the malfunction in my iPhone, last week I did a google research about iPhone warranty in Brazil, and I`ve got surprised by the huge ammount of people complaining about it, extremely unsatisfied with Tim's and Itautec actions and lack of will to resolve their clients problems. You can look at "www.reclameaqui.com.br" that is a famous and very important brazilian site that allows people to publicise their problems with products, just make a search on the iPhone warranty subject, please (of course, in Portuguese).
After discovering so many complaints I decided I should not wait for their contact. First I tried the TIM store, I spoke to the seller of the iPhone about my problem, she felt sorry but she said she couldn`t do nothing: it's Itautec's responsibility now. OK, so I searched Itautec's web site about it, then I discovered something very "interesting": they only offer a phone number to speak about problems of iPhone out of warranty!!!
This is true! I have never seen such a company that only offers a phone number to products that are OUT of warranty! Nevertheless I called them (phone number: 08007727753), because I was deeply in need to speak to a human being of that company about my problem. I spoke with a woman called Rosangela and she repeated to me that she could only help if my iPhone was out of warranty - I told her I was desperate and so she told me that THE ONLY WAY I COULD MAKE CONTACT WITH ITAUTEC TO SPEAK ABOUT MY PROBLEM WAS THROUGH AN E-MAIL: "[email protected]". She also told me that probably a woman called Natalia would answer me. I sent the e-mail last week, until now, no contact.
I just don't know what else should I do. I spent a lot of money on this phone, I thought I was secure with Apple, but now I think different, and I`m telling everyone this sad story. Please help me, unfortunately Apple's image is being ruined with this too. I don`t trust TIM, nor ITAUTEC, but in Apple I still do. Please  help me!
