Apple's "iSync" is now dead forever, it seems... n...

If you google "OS Lion isync" you will see articles about how the brand new "Lion" mac operating system has deleted the iSync feature that I used to sync my 6700 slide to the calendars on my mac.
that is a drag -- because Nokia had provided an iSync plugin so that it was working fine.
Those articles say that if you download and re-install the old "isync" application, it will still work in Lion and you are all set. but I tried that and it didn't work, and gave error messages that indicated to me that it was indeed not functioning. When it worked for those guys, it might have been on a beta release of lion. My lion is the final release.

Did you bring back iSync from a Time Machine backup? If so, did you also restore the /Library/PhonePlugins folder? I did just that and syncing my N8 worked again. My Lion is the official release, now at 10.7.1.

I have a new iphone 6 (64 Gb) that i have had for roughly 2 weeks. Last night i plugged in my charger that came in the box with the phone and plugged it into an outlet that is not used for anything else. warranty will cover it. Did you try only by changing the power adapter or did you change both cable and power adapter?

Ipod synced with old pc now dead, can I keep data while syncing it with new Mac?

I have an old iPod with 8 gb music on it. It was previously synced with a PC whose HD is now dead, so the iPod is the only place where the data is still available. The iPod was not attached to an Apple ID back then. Can I attach it now to my Apple ID, synch it with my new Mac Book and still keep the data on it?

My iPhone 4 will not charge and is now dead. I updated the software about 2 weeks ago but since the phone is dead I can find out which version I have. It started giving me the prompt "this accessory does not support charging this device". I tried charging in my car, two separate wall chargers and on my MacBook Pro. Have never had a problem charging it before. When I would try to charge it, I would get a green battery icon with a plug in it, indicating the battery was fully charged. I now have it plugged into a wall charger, it shows the lighting bolt and nearly drained battery but the phone will not turn on. Any ideas?

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. If there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, try cleaning again with small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol. If all it needs is battery, battery replacement program with Apple is $80. Replacement iPhone with Apple is $199 for perfect iPhone 4S exactly like yours. Otherwise replacement parts to consider are battery and charging port assembly with flex cable.

This sounds like it could be something to do with the pin connector in the problematic phone - or something internally at least.
I'm no expert but I do know that you should seek help from official Apple store. Do not be tempted to open this up yourself as it could invalidate any warranty you might have.
My advice is to take it to your nearest Apple shop. They can look at this and replace if within warranty?

You have to be in a country to use its store - you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account to be able to use the US store (that applies to buying and redownloading).
You can use iTunes Match in South Africa, do you not have a backup copy of all of your US iTunes purchases so that you can subscribe to it and upload those that aren't in the South African store to it ?

And then when he phones back as we agreed he's not actually on the phone, it's just a voice saying Apple Support is now closed! What on earth is going on at apple support I wonder.
Anyway, the original problem: an application called JotNot Pro fails to update. The error message says something like "you cannot update this cos either you bought it with a different Apple ID or somebody else bought it."
Neither applies. Can anybody help?

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

CHeck out iTunes Match which has an annual fee of £21 or thereabouts. You can store a maximum of 25,000 songs there and they all become available on your other kit, iPhone, iPad and iPod. I know it works as I have over 23000 songs uploaded of which only a few we're bought through iTunes.
it works by comparing your music to the whole iTunes music dadata base so you access the same tunes that you could get from iTunes. If you have obscure stuff, it uploads your own music to the cloud as a copy.
I Find it incredible that on my iPhone with its 16gb memory I can view almost 200 gb of music (ie my 23000 songs) and play any of them. Anything I add to iTunes becomes available via the cloud fairly quickly from a few minutes or a little longer if adding a lot.
The first time you use it it will take quite a while to match your music if you have a lot, but after that it is all automatic. Read the stuff on the apple site. Your PC needs to be at least running Vista. I recommend it and at less than 50p a week it's good value.
