Apple's trailer site crashes Firefox w/ mplayer plugin

Okay, this is beyond weird. Basically, I can go and watch a video in high quality or otherwise pretty much anywhere that isn't Apple's website... If I go there, Firefox just crashes without an error or explanation. This is pretty unfortunate since I view the bulk of my streaming video from there. I know some people had this issue before, but it effected all videos with them... This is just effecting this one site with me.
Running Firefox from the terminal is completely unhelpful as it provides no useful info.
I've got the latest versions of Firefox and mplayer plugin and am running KDEmod 4.2 with the qt-gtk-engine thing.
Anyone have a solution to this annoying little issue?
Thanks!

I have the same problem...

Anyone knows why or has a fix that doesn't imply using a different player?

  • How can I stop my bank's web site crashing Firefox

After Firefox's latest upgrade, I can no longer access my bank's web site (www.ca-nmp.fr) with Firefox. Whenever I try Firefox locks up.
Other browsers are fine, and I am not aware of any changes to the site around the same time. Of course I can migrate to Chrome, but I have used Firefox for years. Any suggestions as to what can be done?
I use Win XP Pro SP3 etc

Does Firefox crash (close) or does Firefox only stop responding?
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Guardian Newspaper mobile site crashes Firefox Android Beta

For several weeks I have noticed that if I access pages on the mobile website for the Guardian Newspaper in the UK the page will load then after a few seconds the browser will close. This happens almost all the time unless I keep scrolling on the page.
Typical page is http://gu.com/p/448tz/stw I have Firefox for Android Beta 35.0 running on an HTC One phone.

As it happens, for a different reason I completely re-set the mobile phone and reinstalled all apps from scratch including Firefox 35.0. The phone I have does not have a removable battery but it is turned off completely everyday. This is a continuing problem over several weeks. Does not affect every page at gu.com but does affect most and only from this site.
I pass the information on for information. I will uninstall Firefox and switch to Chrome to see if I get the same issue. Maybe Chrome will be better on an Android device.

  • Apple Movie trailer download doesn't work in Lion

Has anyone have this problem. When I'm on the Apple movie trailer site, I select the trailer I want to see. Once the movie page loads, there is a roll bar to either select watch now or download the trailer at higher resolutions on my computer. I normally select the 720p versions and quicktime pops up and starts downloading the trailer. Since I've updated to LION, this doesn't happen anymore. Any solutions?
    Thanks

I think I've solved the problem. It's turning on the extensions to start the ClickToPlugin (2.3.2). Part of the ClicktoFlash extension group. Once I turned disabled ClicktoPlugin, everything worked.  SO BE WARNED!

    Hi,
I made the site in iweb, and uploaded it to godaddy. The site crashes in Safari when I click through the pages, making it unusable on any computer for about 5 minutes (but no problems at all using Firefox and IE.)
    The URL is http://sanafit.net/Aron/home.html
I would really appreciate any help. Thank you.

  • Bug Report: Flash Player 13 crashes Firefox 28 often

Crashing scenarios: Youtube videos ending, and opening a new tab simultaneously. That happened while palying a playlist on autoplay, and when playing a video not part of a playlist. Also, listening to Pandora and opening a new tab.
Visual experience of the crash: With the YT crashes, Firefox freezes and never becomes responsive. For the Pandora crash, the whole browser just shuts down and gives me a prompt to report the crash.
How I know it's FP13: I just installed in not even an hour before the first crash. Experiencing 4 crashes within 30 hours, after going 4 weeks without a crash? Very interesting stuff, isn't it.
I could not find a formal way to report a bug, so here is this.
Also, make it easier to downgrade. It's a pain having to get a 140 MB installer package to run one installer that I need, uninstall the new FP, then disconnect from the internet so you don't tell me that I'm trying to install an old version and not giving me the option to continue. If you're not going to test your software extensively to make sure it doesn't crash often, don't force people onto it.
    Running 32-bit Vista.
Searching around, I see that you are going to drop support for 11.7 (what happened to 12? I could not find an installer for that anywhere) on May 13th. You should delay this or actually make FP13 stable.
    Yours truly,
      Exaskryz

Pandora has, and causes, a lot of problems if your audio and video drivers are outdated or corrupted. Also, if you have RealTek® audio, you're never going to get Pandora to "play nice" with it. Flash Player has nothing to do with either of those.
You can find 11.7 here: Flash Player 11.7.700.279 but I have Vista Ultimate (64bit) with Flash Player 14 (beta), and I can run YouTube videos, post here and in the Apple Forums, as well as checking out a few News sites, all at once... and no crashes with FF 29.

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache.  If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Despite having up to date Firefox and Flash plugin, I still get a crash message. What can I do?

I am trying to use SiteFusion to build a website. When I go to upload a PSD file I get a "Flash plugin has crashed" message and the ability to select the PSD file and upload it stops. I have checked and I am on the most up to date version of Firefox and Flash plugin running Mac OS 10.6.8 on an Intel Core 2 Duo.

Without knowing what settings you are currently using, its impossible to say what has gone wrong.
These are the 2 (different sets of) settings Apple provides:

  • Streaming crashes Firefox

I'm developing a video player which uses the FLVPlayback
component and which is now being tested. We are finding that
streaming clips will crash Firefox on some but not all PCs--looks
like around 10%. I haven't seen it happen on a Mac. It appears to
have something to do with streaming, because if I take one of the
clips and progressively download it there's no crashing. For
testing purposes I've eliminated any ActionScript, there's just the
FLVPlayback component on the stage. Both the clips and the swf are
running at 30 fps. I'm not encoding the flvs, but is there some
setting in the encoding which might make the streaming clips more
    likely to crash a browser?

Testing with Firefox 3.0.1 and Flash WIN 9,0,124,0 the url
    http://www.latitudesurvey.com/LumiereVideoV2/StreamTest/
crashes if port 1935 is blocked (using Comodo personal firewall to
block the port). We have the same problem and it started when we
allowed fms to use port 80 as well as 1935.
    e.g. ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = :80,1935 In the c:\Program
    Files\Macromedia\Flash Media Server 2\conf\fms.ini file.
Looking around some other flv streaming sites (e.g.
bbc.co.uk/iplayer) it appears they are falling back to 8080 instead
of 80 and then there is no crash. With port 1935 blocked the main
adobe.com page is crashing about 1 in 3 refreshes. (Enter the world
of Nevada Weir theme which uses port 1935 if available or 80
    otherwise).
For us unblocking port 1935 on the client fixes the problem
but the real cause seems to to be a Flash client/FLVPlayback
    bug.

Problem just began on 1/25/13. Can view any site on hotmail window or web browser. When finished with site and attempt to return to Firefox site by either X in viewed site or back arrow site crashes and comes up with a crash report site.
I have been sending reports and then attempting to reconnect using reconnect. No solution.
I now cancel reconnect to return to Firefox Mozilla and then hit Hotmail in Most viewed.
    Very clumsy.
Please advise simple and easy to UNDERSTAND for non teckie.
    thanks

I was able to enter "about crashes" it referred me back to your directions about an "address bar".
You have to be very simple with me. I have entered the requested information on every place I could on your web browser with no joy.
Where exactly on you site do I enter "about crashes"?
The "address bar" is not noted on my computer or in any help source that I have attempted to find. Please bear with me, I am just a user and not a skilled one at that. I enter sites wherever I can get results.
As an afterthought, your web browser only shows 3 or 4 places to enter requests:
    1. standard web addresses
    2. search requests
    3. Foxfire requests (in center of page).
Again I have tried all 3 with no joy and a lot of frustration. My research shows that the requested information would be very helpful but does not tell me how to access (for "dummies")
    thanks again

  • Flash Player crashing Firefox

    Hello,
Last week i keep having issues with Adobe Flash player crashing Firefox.
Each time i visit a site that uses Flash i get the well known error message saying that Adobe Flash player has crashed.
    I use Windows 8.1 x64
    The latest Firefox version (33.0.2)
    The latest Flash player
I have tried setting ProtectedMode to 0 & disabling hardware acceleration. Both methods didnt work for me.
Also i uninstalled Flash using Adobe's uninstaller and reinstalling the latest Flash version which didn't work either.
Any help is greatly appreciated because this is getting very frustrating. I never had any problems with Flash before untill this week.
I haven't installed or made any hard -/ software changes either.

First, please return Flash Player to the standard configuration.  Disabling ProtectedMode leaves you far more vulnerable to malware than you would be otherwise.  If disabling hardware acceleration didn't resolve the issue, then you can enable it again.
First things first, from the Firefox menu, choose Help > Restart with Add-Ons Disabled.  Do you continue to see the stability problem?  If not, then we should look at what other plug-ins you have installed to see if they're causing compatibility issues.  Likely candidates would be ad blockers and "download flash video" plug-ins.
If the crashes persist, go to about:crashes in the Firefox address bar.  Click the first few links to submit the crash reports to Mozilla, then copy the resulting links to a response here.
    Thanks!

  • Adobe Flash Updates December 2014 crash Firefox on iMac. Websites access thus blocked.

Tried to ignore all the messages to update Adobe Flash as this always leads to trouble. But the Firefox blocking of the old version led to new troubles. So I attempted to install the update. Firefox hung up with the whirling globe of death..wouldn't safe start..wouldn't reset. Could access nothing.
Had to uninstall Flash and trash Firefox app and start over with an older version of Firefox (19) drug over from a back-up drive, which Firefox nicely updated to 34.0.5 overnight.
Tried once again to update Flash (this time with an older version). It still crashed Firefox (though not irrevocably this time) and remains squirrely, meaning there are many sites I can no longer log on to and videos do not function properly.
It's the new Adobe Flash incompatibility with my Firefox 34.0.5 on my system that is creating all the problems right now and there doesn't seem to be a solution?
How does one find out what version of Flash is on one's computer and what version actually will work with my current systems?
