  • The Home button is not responding with my ipad2.

My recently bought ipad2 is having problem with the Home button as it is unresponsive. I had removed all new applications downloaded from apple stores and restored it to the orginal setting. Still the same, even if i press the Home button & Sleep button together nothing happens. Case has been booked with Express Lane and their technical expert is of the opinoin that it seems to be a hardware problem and asked me to bring to US , unfortunately i'm based in Dubai. I had purchased it from here, can any one help?

    Reset Home Button Steps:
    (1) Tap Settings App, when open:
    (2) Hold Power button until "slide to power off" bar appears.
    (3) Don't slide it, release power button.
    (4) Gently, continuously press Home button for few seconds until home screen appears.
    (5) Done.
If this does not help, further points to Hardware Problem.

  • The home button won't work on my ipod touch

when i open an app and want to get back to the main menu, my home button doesn't work. i have to restart my ipod just to go to a different app
i dont understand why it is doing this
    does anyone have any idea?

  • When I left-click the home button, how can it open my home page in a new tab?

I thought it used to do that. I had to do a clean install of Windows, I believe I was only on FF 22 or 23 when this happened. Now I'm on FF 26 and obviously all my settings are gone.
I'm 99% sure that when I left-clicked on my home button, it opened my home page in a new tab. I know I can middle-click to get that affect, but it used to be left-click and I do that automatically now. But I don't want to lose the current window I have up, so something's wrong.
Anyone know how to fix this? Or an add-on to do this?

If you hold down the Ctrl key while left clicking the Home button then the home page opens in a new tab.<br />
You can also middle-click the home button like you can with any other link

The home button on my iPad has became faulty, it works sometimes although you have to press it really hard. Can Apple fix this for me?

They might be able to. If it's an iPad 2 then it is still within the warranty period, so as long as it's due to accidental damage it might be fixed/replaced free of charge. Have you tried contacting Apple ? I don't know what country you are in, and whether you are near an Apple store, but you could try looking on this page for your service options.
Before you do that you could try a reset and see if it that helps : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons (assuming that it works) for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • If my iPod Touch 4G is under warranty, can Apple repair or replace it if the home button won't work?

I've had my iPod Touch 4G for about 10 months now so the warranty is still in affect. The home button appears to be stuck or won't work anymore. I can press down on it and I hear a click but it's inresponsive. I've already looked up and tried numerous things to fix it, but nothing works. I have assistive touch but ever since I started using it, apps close or freeze within minutes of opening it.
If I bring it to an apple store or send it in, can they fix the home button or replace my itouch?
    Thanks

If the ipod is defective then they will replace it.

  • Manufacturing defect of the screen iPhone 5s

Return it as its faulty and get another.

  • The home button has stopped working on my iphone 5c. Did the same a few months ago and recovered 24hrs later. Can anyone explain this problem. Phone still in warranty. Had steam issue recently but this was after last home button episode.

Have an iphone 5c 8g. The home button has stopped working. Did the same a few months ago and recovered 24hrs later. Can anyone explain this problem. Phone still in warranty. Had steam issue recently but this was after last home button episode and no evidence of damage.

If you are playing in hockey arenas a lot or if you are bringing it into bathroom same time as shower it may not seem like much but overtime the steam can acquire and build up in the phones usb dock flex cable swell as the home button flex cable. Bring again into apple store and should be covered under warranty again. could also be a delay in a 8gb 5c software may just be very lag.

  • My screen went black but the phone is still working because I can hear my text tones come in and also is ringing when someone calls.Screen is still black.Held the home button and top button for up to 5 min,I'm not getting an apple logo for reset. HELP!

The contract on this phone expires March 19. Its not worth getting a new one over a few weeks!

Yes, I understand that. But The screen issue is not a result of user damage. The phone was not dropped when the screen got cracked. My daughter was standing in a chair at the table and dropped one of her toys onto the bottom of the phone and cracked it right by the home button. (Nowhere near the LCD/digitizer flex cables, connections, or logic board components) then a few months later my phone had died, I plugged it in, it showed it was charging, then Apple logo disappeared and screen didn't work. AFTER contacting Apple about the issue and them telling me that it "is a result of the very minimal crack to the sheet of glass that has no relation to the LCD or Digitizer and that the warranty does not cover it I had taken it upon myself to change the LCD/digitizer to no avail, as well as backlight ic and backlight coil to no avail. But how do I go about letting Apple know that it is in fact NOT due to the cracked screen nor is it due to the flex cable connections? I can't. So the lady that works the call center phones  trying to "convince" me that she knows what she is talking about and "convince" me that it is from the cracked screen I have to take her word because I can't show Apple that its not because of that without paying them $199 to fix the screen in which case they will just send me a new phone rather than fix the faulty hardware under warranty.

  • My iphone doesnt want to start.all it shows is the apple icon.nothing more.i have tried holding the home button together with the lock button.what can i do .thanks

my iphone 4 doesnt want to start . all it shows is the apple icon.i have tried holding the home button together with the lock button. nothing seems to work . please help.

Plug the iPhone in with the Wall Charger. Then while plugged in do the Reset again, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone Restarts. This usually begins to happen in less than 20 seconds time.
If you this does not work you can try to Restore the Firmware on your iPhone. If you decide to do this, connect your iPhone to your computer with iTunes open. Hold both the Home and Power buttons until the iPhone is detected by iTunes in Recovery Mode, this takes about 20 seconds time. Restore your iPhone.
If this does not work, you can try to Restore the Firmware on your iPhone in DFU Mode. Connect your iPhone to your computer with iTunes open. Hold both Home and Power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release the Power Button and keep holding the Home Button until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode, about 20 seconds more time. Restore the iPhone.
If this does not work and you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take your iPhone to Apple for resolution of the problem.

  • My iphone 4 has been reset and stuck on the apple screen and i cant cant push the top button as it doesnt work please help

i reset my iphone 4 and its now stuck on the apple screen ive seen people saying push the top button but my doesnt work can anyone give me some advice please

I'm not looking for any warranty help or something, I just want a diagnosys of my phone's situation....
My phone is acting as if there was no battery in the phone. When there is no cable plugged, nothing happens. When there is a cable, something happens (not a lot though....).
Could it be the battery port on the motherboard that's down ?
PS : I've taken a Genius-bar appointment because I can't stand in that situation for years, so I'm not absolutely looking to gain money and avoid Apple's official help.

  • Ok so when I try pressing the home button on the iPod it doesn't work.. and I have to press really hard on the home button to make the iPod go back to the homescreen. Is this a defect in the iPod because I have never dropped my iPod on the floor or anythi

    Wat should I do?
    Send it to apple?

Try each of the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPOd from backup
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPOd.
If still a problem you likely have a hardware problem.  An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store would be in order.  If the iPod is within warranty you can call AppleCare.

  • HT4623 just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. Then comes back on and just sits.I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try DFU Mode Restore, here are the steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode. If still problem and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

  • What can we do if the home button of my ipod is working very slow and if my ipod is still in warranty and by the way i have an ipod touch 4

what can we do if the home button of my ipod is working very slow and if my ipod is still in warranty and by the way i have an ipod touch 4

If it is still under warranty take it to an Apple Store, or in any case call AppleCare (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 for list of international phone numbers) to see if they can help you. They may be able to help you with repairs if it is a physical problem with the home button.
