Apple says small number of Apple TVs have WiFi issues, opens replacement program

I have an AppleTV 3rd generation with issues of connectivity when I use the Radio. Every 10 or 15 minutes disconnects from showing an error on the screen, I research on the internet and apparently there is a program to replace some devices due a known malfuncion with the WiFi.
I always blamed to my cheap router and the poor internet connection I had in my former country Argentina. Now i moved to Chile and i have a nice Cisco/Linksys router and the issue persists.

I would like to know if this program exists and also if my device is under this program.

That program was from over a year ago, it is no longer running. It still required proper troubleshooting to occur. It wouldn't have to do with an internet connection as this an issue with the local/wifi network, a cheap router will impact performance but there are other factors.
Using ethernet will help to see if there's a wifi issue. Get a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar, look for signal strength and noise.
If your network looks ok then I would take to Apple for testing, if it is found to be defective then they are usually good about replacement.

    Each device can only create a maximum of three iCloud accounts.  Once those have been create and you try to create another you get this message.  You cannot delete one of the previous accounts in order to create another one.  All you can do is either re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account to use on another iOS device (running iOS 5 or higher) or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or higher) and sign into the account on your phone.

Just because you are having a WiFi issue does not necessarily mean the issue is with iOS 8 (correlation does not prove causality). Until you've done proper trouble shooting (or had Apple do it for you if you don't feel equipped), it's almost impossible to say why you are having a problem.
    My iPhone 5S is not having any issues with iOS 8.

    I recently bought an iphone 5 from craigs list. Before I did, I called Verizon wireless and had them check the IMEI number and make sure its clean. THey said it is, I even asked her 3 different times "so youre sure that this item is not stolen or reported missing or anything like that" she said yes.
    Today, I decided to find out if the iphone is under waranty or not so I went on the apple website to check the serial number, and guess what I got:
    We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced.
    was calling verizon not enough diligince to make sure it was clean, or did the guy that sold it to me find away to cheat the system?
    when apple replaces a phone, do they no let the carrier know that this IMEI number belongs to a phone that has been replaced?

  • I changed my AppleID/Password and now am locked out of iCloud. iCloud says maximum number of free accounts have been activated. tried Settings, Mail etc but iCloud does not appear. I was going to delete it and start again.

    Had to change Apple ID/Password recently now cannot access iCloud. In settings when tapping iC, log in screen appears with old ID and request for (old) password.
    In Settings  Mail, Contacts etc iCloud does not appear. I was going to delete account.
    Trying new ID/Password message appears "maximum no. of free accounts have been activated".

    I tried to log in to iCloud but a message appears telling me I "can't sign in because my account was disabled for security reasons....reset password at iforgot.apple.com". I don't know why this happened.
    I reset both my Apple ID and password.
    When I tap Settings iCloud is listed on the left side between General and Mail, Contacts etc.
    Tapping iCloud brings up a log in screen for iCloud which shows my old Apple ID and requests the password. If I put the password in I get the message as above.
    If I use the new Apple ID/Password I get the message "the maximum number of free accounts have been activated....
    In settings there is no option to "Delete Account"
    Any suggestions??

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • My iPhone 5's serial number isn't eligible for iPhone 5 battery replacement program, but clearly has battery problem.  Help?

    I was relieved and not at all surprised to find out that Apple was recalling certain iPhone 5s for battery replacement.  I was sure mine was one affected.  (My battery doesn't last more than 4-5 hours after a full charge at normal use.)
    Having entered my serial number on this page: https://ssl.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/  I was told that my phone wasn't eligible. 
    I sincerely think my phone has a defective battery and that the range of serial numbers should be broadened beyond what Apple calls a "very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices."
    Anyone know how I can get Apple to help here?   

    I have the same problem with a iPhone 5c which was purchased last fall (2013) after the Replacement Program time frame. It drains with minimal use.
    We have several iPhone4's, 2-3 years old, which have never had this issue.
    From reading all of these responses/questions, Apple really needs to address this issue for all 5's. This is a big problem, when the phone is completely unreliable.

  • Still Have WiFi Issues

    1. Installed 3.0
    2. WiFi dies after two weeks

    In this case the wifi starts as being intermittent and then unable to connect to ANY wifi routher just like my previous iphone. Previous Iphone eventially ended up with the wifi option in setting as greyed out. Apple store was clueless as to what is causing this widespread wifi issue.

  • 4.3.3 OS and now I have wifi issues

    since I upgraded to 4.3.3. both devices (iPhone 4 & iPad 1) are having issues in reconnecting to wifi.
    It started intermittently with the IP4 and now the IPad has won't connect and now it's all the time with both devices.
    Previously, just a power reset of the AEX would cure it - now zilch.
    I've tried setting up the Airport Extreme network again several times in various configurations - permanantly assigned IP addresses to each device, etc.
    I have several other devices on different OS and they don't have any issues.
    Anyone, please any ideas? It's bad enough living behind the GFW.

    Try using Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restart your WiFi router by removing power to it for 30 seconds

  • If i am going to buy an iphone from someone, can the apple store check if it does not have an issue?

    I want to buy a phone from a friend. He states that it was brand new and there is nothing wrong with the phone's exterior or interior. I still want to check if there is anything else that I could check for. Is it possible that the Apple Store can help me check any problems with the phone? Can they also tell me the carrier of the phone? He states that it is from T-Mobile, but I still want to check.

    If you call Apple with the serial number they can tell you the carrier it is locked to. You can also check the warranty status at: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage and see if it is Activation Locked (a theft deterrent feature) at https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/.
    However, if you don't trust the friend perhaps you shouldn't buy it. And reconsider if they really are a friend.

    I have a Mac with iOS Yosemite with a Officejet Pro 8600, all of a sudden I open the program and it stays on teh screen that says "Connecting to Device"
    Help. I can't open the program to scan.  I can still print though, I'm not sure if that's due to the cord connected or the fact that I still have it hooked up to wifi

    I can't say for certain what is causing the issue at this point, but I would be happy to help you figure it out, and more importantly, resolve the issue.
    Let's reset the printing system, repair disk permissions, re-add the printer using the right driver, and try to scan again.
    Reset Printing System
    Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
    In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
    Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
    Click OK to confirm the reset.
    Type the correct Name and Password.
    Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
    Repair Disk Permissions
    On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
    Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
    Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
    Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and add the printer back.
    When you add the printer, please ensure you are using the HP driver.
    Select Add other Printer or Scanner                                                      
    Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can select the printer driver

    Repeating myself. I have received an Apple TV. All of my TVs have only one HDMI port and it is being used by my cable provider. Does anyone have suggestions on how to set up the Apple TV and still have access to the cable provider as well?

  • Delete number from Apple ID

    When I go to my Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, I have my apple ID enabled and it shows a phone number for a friend who used my apple id before she got her own.  It is not checked, so I know she cant send and receive the texts, but how do i DELETE that number from my apple id account? I went to appleid.apple.com and browsed my account but that number did not show up anywhere. Ive tried turning imessage/facetime/icloud off and logging back in but the number is still there. HELP! How do I delete that number so I dont have this issue anymore!
