Apple Sent me back a defective ipod

So I sent in my iPod to Apple, paying the 40 odd dollars that it costs, and they sent me back a defective ipod! How do I contact them to tell them this? I'm definatley not paying another 40 dollars to ship it back to them.

How did you contact them the first time?

  • Apple refused to replace my defective iPod. How can I follow up?

My 5th generation iPod has had intermittant problems since new. It doesn't work at altitude (in mountains, airplanes etc). OK elsewhere.
I explained this in my sevice request & shipped it in. Apple support never communicated with me at all. They simply set the status of the service request to "couldn't find a problem, shipped unit back". Not surprised: it works at sea level. They might have to actually read the description I wrote, and vary the operating conditions a bit before it fails. If they can't and don't give me the benefit of the doubt here, then they've stuck me with a defective unit with no support. It might work for them, but it's obviously unacceptable to me.
I can't find a phone number to call, or an email address or anything that will get a response.
I guess I'll be looking closely at the upcoming unit from Microsoft. Or maybe something from Creative Labs...

Your pushing the limit at Tuolumne Meadows the pass is about 9946 ft above sea level and the meadows are about 8600 but still under the operating limit. Heavenly valley at South Tahoe has lifts going pretty close to 10,000. I've not had a chance to test my ipod at those elevations. What passes for mountains in Iowa you can see over standing on a ladder. Try taking it in to an Apple store and see what they say.

No.  You can turn your 6G Nano in to be recycled at your local Apple Store for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one. Otherwise, your only other option would be to sell the iPod on Craigslist or eBay and use the proceeds from the sale towards the purchase of the new 7G nano.

Please help me out as this is very irritating. This has been happening for the last 20-30 minutes. It had roughly half battery left.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i forgot the answer of my security question as opposed i sent to apple for get back the answer . but the apple didn't answer me so pleas help me >?

    Hello there, Faisal-almutairi.
The following Knowledge Base article has the information you need for what to do in your situation:
Apple ID: All about Apple ID security questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665
    Specifically:
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
Try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you are not sure you remember the answers to your security questions.
If you are confident you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address
sign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID passwordsign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password
contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
Note: If you have forgotten your password and answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you will be unable to try to answer your security questions for a period of time. During that time you will not be able to reset your password and will not have access to your account.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.

  • I have an ipod touch 4th gen will apple buy it back?

i have an ipod touch will apple buy it back?

If you purchased the iPod directly from Apple in the last 14 calendar days, you can return it. Otherwise, no, as lllaass said, Apple will of course not buy it back from you. If you purchased from a dealer, then that dealer's return policy, if any, would apply.
    Regards.

  • I have iphone 4 and i sent it back to my country  but it doesn't work! they told me to contact apple and give imei number so they can unlock it?

i have iphone 4 and i sent it back to my country but it doesn't works in there! so they told to to contact apple and give IMEI number so they can unlock it. can you please let me know if there is anything you can help?
    many thanks

Apple can't/won't help you. The only way to get your phone officially unlocked is to contact the carrier your phone is locked to & see if they offer official unlocking. Some do, some don't. So, if you want your phone officially unlocked, you need to contact the carrier it is locked to.
There is no other way to get your phone officially unlocked.

  • Ipod touch's apple logo in back side is scratched.

iPod touch's apple logo in back side(rear) is scratched. i want to repair this perfect.
And I want to repair other scratch too... What can I do about that?
I am Korean,,, I don't know English about that...T.T please understanding me well...

I believe you're south corean, right? Are there any Apple Stores in South Corea? If not, go to the place where you bought your iPod, and talk to them about that.
Much more productive than talking to someone that's sitting in front of a computer, on the other side of the world (i.e. Portugal)

  • Getting My Pictures Back Onto My iPod Touch 4th Generation

I recently sent my iPod Touch 4th gen. to Apple to get repaired. and before I sent it I backed it up with iTunes, 2 times to be sure, and then I reset my iPod. I just got it back today, and I got everything back but my photos. Is there any way I can get them back? I have very important pictures that I can't get back if I don't get the pictures back on my iPod. If anyone can do anything to help me I'd really appreciate it.

How did the photos get on the iPod?
    - If they were taken by are saved to the iPod then they would be in the Camera Roll album. That Album is included in both the iCloud backup and iPod backup that iTunes makes. Restoring from the backup will restore those photo if they were in the backup. IfTry restoring again if necessary
    - If the photos were synced to the iPod they are not in either iCloud or iTunes backup and yo will have to get the photos from where you obtained them before and then resync them to the iPod.

  • IPod touchm  notes disappearing off iPod - found on email account.  How do I get them back on the iPod touch?

My Notes (yellow notes app) disappeared  from my iPod touch running iOS 6.1.3  and found out here they'd been "synced" to my email account.  Sure enough there they were.  As suggested, I went into settings for the email account on my iPod and removed "notes" as one of the things to track.  I checked the settings for Notes and there is no option to make the iPod the place to keep things (apparently, this is an option on the iPhone version of Notes). Now my test note has stayed on the iPod.  But how do I get the old notes that are sitting in an email account back to my iPod?
Also, I'm not sure who decided "sync" should mean "remove from one device and put it on the other device".  This is not most people's definition of "sync".  It isn't done with email syncing.  When I send mail (yahoo or gmail), from either the iPod or some other device, the sent mail shows up on both devices, not on one or the other.

Are you sure they are not there?  Check your later pages.  Syncing often reloads the apps out of sequence.  Also check in iTunes under Apps that Sync Apps is checked.

  • Itunes won't let me back up my Ipod, or sync music

    Hi there
My itunes won't give me the option to back up my ipod touch (3rd gen)- I have the latest iTunes and iOS (4.2) but it still won't let me create a backup. When I right click on the ipod, the only backup option I am given is to restore from an old backup, which is 2 years old and from a completely different Ipod touch. I am not given the option to create a new back up.
This is an issue for me, as when my ipod syncs, it tries to transfer purchased apps from my ipod to the computer (and does so), but when it is about to sync songs it say 'Error reading to disk' and cancels the sync - this means the only way I can get new songs onto the ipod is to restore it to its original settings, something I have had to do twice already, and am reluctant to do again, as I don't have a backup!
    Many thanks

    - Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - The following may help since it concerns disk reading errors
