Apple shop upgrade.

The Apple shop upgraded the RAM in my 2012 Mac Mini from 4GB to 8GB but the 8GB RAM is 1333 Mhz whereas I assume the 4GB was 1600 Mhz as advertised. Was I not shortchanged?

Go to http://www.crucial.com/ download and run the System Scanner to verify what memory is actually installed in case there is an error on your invoice. If it confirms the wrong memory is installed take your Mac Min back to the Apple store and complain.

Does anyone know if you can buy the 3G phone at an Apple shop and then either upgrade from the old iPhone there, or take it to an O2 shop to upgrade? Or do you have to do the whole thing in an O2 shop?

i spoke to the apple store in lakeside, Essex and the lady i spoke to said no, which to be honest is a pita,
and i feel that being a loyal apple customer and one of the people who stood in line last november to buy the orignal iPhone on day1 i am being punished and for said loyalty because i cannot get a white 16GB from o2 or CPW........whould it have been to hard to put an o2 representative in each apple store for 6 months to handle upgrades?
worse case, you buy the phone in the apple shop, they give you a certain receipt and you go down to the o2 shop to complete the upgrade, but no!
grumble grumble!

The only way you can get a valid estimate is by someone examining the MBP directly. Since no one on these forums can see or examine your MBP, you will need to get this infomation from a qualified repair shop. It seems that you already have secured one estimate. You can also bring the MBP to an Apple store and have a genius bar examine it for FREE.

HP couldn't find its own apps with both hands and a flashlight.
As of Lion all scanning functions are incorporated natively in OS X. You can scan three ways:
Use Preview: File > Import from scanner
Use Image Capture
(Preview and Image Capture are both in your Applications folder.)
System Preferences > Print & Scan. Select your HP and use the Scan tab.
If you have HP's "Image Zone" software installed, you no longer need it and it no longer works anyway.

No, it won't revert to the prior OS X but you you may have third party apps installed that were compatible with Lion that may not be compatible with Mountain Lion.

Have you checked lately to see how much free space there is on the disk? Especially since iPhoto freezes at launch ...
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
And make sure the OS X software is up to date.
Click the Apple  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click: Software Update
If you have anti virus software installed or are using third party Mac cleaning utiliites, that may be part and parcel of the your problems.

Be sure to do a backup before updating as protection. Photos should
be synced with your computer, music should be in iTunes, documents
should be backed up on your computer as should contacts in whatever
program you use on your computer. You should already have backups
of your important information to prevent loss in case of theft, crash,
physical damage. The question is not if your hard drive will crash but
when, and you iPhone is not a backup device nor fit for the only
source of any document, picture, music, movie, contact or otherwise
irreplaceable information.

If the technician at the shop is competent, he has given you a diagnosis that should have identified the problem. You could run the Apple Hardware Test to verify the findings:

Note the Apple Hardware Test is not definitive.
Go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites. They have parts and installation instructions. To install an Airport card is fairly easy.

Yes, they should be able to verify that WiFi is working properly. If I just got a new phone & it didn't work perfectly, right out of the box, before I started restoring or whatever, I'd be right back where I got the phone.
