Apple should add the "permanently delete unwanted apps" option ?
Hi guys,
I think that Apple should add the permanently delete unwanted apps option to our account. We pay for them and we have a right to get rid of them, and Apple has to respect its client right. If Apple want to keep it as a record, keep it itself. Sometime, we just don't want to have any relationship with something and want it out of our life.
If Apple does not respect us, I will stop using apple products for good.
If you guy agree with me, vote for it and ask Apple to respect us.
The point you make is valid ... providing you are
1. Sure you won't want to download it again ... or
2. In the event it was permanently deleted you wouldn't mind paying for it again if you did.
It's no good expecting Apple to keep it as a record for themselves ... having bought it, you are the only person who has an interest (or not) in its continued availability.
By the way, you are not supposed to conduct polls of any kind in these forums. Part of the T & C.

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, but you should be able to hide them via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 - if your iPad is on iOS 7, then after hiding them on your computer you may need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in for them to be hidden in the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it (the last time I hid an app I needed to do that).

You cannot remove items from your list of purchases. That is simply a list of receipts kept by Apple for your account. -
I have an apple id for my ipod touch at home. My company is planning to issuing Ipads. Should I use the same apple id on the ipad for those apps I purchase and would like to use on my work ipad?
Yes, otherwise you will have to pay for those apps again. If an app is purchased by one Apple ID, he/she will be able to redownload it again for no cost (note: this does apply to songs, but NOT to movies).

I'd suggest removing the unwanted items directly from your Applicaitons folder. In order to do this, you'll need to highlight the desired applicaiton, then use File -> Move to Trash (or CMD + Delete on your keyboard).
If they're still showing up in Launchpad, or if they don't exist in the Applications folder, use the following command in Terminal to remove your existing Launchpad databases (as they may be damaged and not updating correctly) and restart Launchpad (which will create fresh databases):
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db ; killall Dock -

Well, it is possible to delete it permanently.
At first I should notice the problem is that, when you delete a book from ibook in mac the notification which comes up tells that the book would remain in icloud so you have to delete it from icloud.
To do this, open itunes, click on itunes store link on top right, now your your apple id should be show up on top left side, now click on books link next to app store on top, this full page is apple bookstore, on the right bar under "books quick links" you would see "purchased", click on it.
THESE ARE ALL THE BOOKS YOU HAVE BOUGHT. IF YOU SLIDE OVER EACH OF THEM YOU WOULD SEE A "X" SIGN ON TOP LEFT SIDE OF EACH COVER CLICK ON IT, BY DOING SO YOU WOULD DELETE THE BOOK FOREVER FROM ICLOUD IN YOUR APPLE ACCOUNT.
BY NOW IF YOU DELETE THE BOOK FROM YOUR IBOOKS APP IN YOUR MAC, IT WOULDN'T TELL YOU THAT IT WOULD BE STORED IN ICLOUD.
YOU'VE DELETED THE BOOK FROM YOUR MAC AND YOUR ICLOUD APPLE ACCOUNT. AND YOU WOULDN'T SEE IT ANYMORE.
YOUR DONE.

I fully agree darkslayer1234. If the app was free why is it still attached to my history? even if I paid for it I (and that's a BIG CAPITAL I) should have the freedom to delete it and risk paying again. This history thing *****, how many years will I be haunted by immature, inappropriate apps that I had 'thrown away"?
Someone at the planning stage just did not consider the full effect on the end user.
Apple should allow me to export my WANTED apps to a new account and disable the old one! -

You can't permanetly delete any item from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them via your computer's iTunes so that they don't show in the Purchased links for redownloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
You can delete downloaded ibooks from the bookshelf in the iBooks app on your device via the Edit button at the top of the bookshelf -

I have spent a good part of my evening trying to figure this out then finally found this page which confirms what I was thinking... It doesn't appear possible! ARHHHH!!! There are loads of posts saying how you can do this, when what they appear to be describing is how to remove the apps from their iphone/ipad and not actually from the list of every app you have ever installed which appears when you go into the "Apps Store" > Updates > Not on this iPhone.
It would be really nice to be able to remove programs from this list as I am sure I am not the only person who over the years have installed some apps which where not very good and I don't want to be reminded of them or to ever see them again quite frankly.
I can do this very easily from my Android phone in Google Play which is Google's version of the App Store.
I think things like this remind me why I prefer the ease of use of my Android phone... Ho hum! Maybe one day some geeks at Apple will realise that this would actually be a really useful thing to be able to do and enable it. -

Most items purchsed with your Apple ID can't be permantently deleted from the purchase history. However you can hide them.
