Apple should honor BB pre-orders

Here's an idea:
A number of websites are reporting that Apple plans to have iPhone 4s in stock tomorrow for walk-ins. It seems likely that Apple shorted Best Buy in many instances (my local store in Arlington, VA was supposed to get 90 and now is getting only 15 or so). I think Apple should allow customers from Best Buy with pre-orders to go to an Apple Store instead and get their phones that way. Seems only fair. What's everyone think?

The truth is that most pre-order will be filled tomorrow.  So, most of you that were unfortunately promised getting it on the 24th, will probably get it on the 24th.  Unless you ordered a white one, in that case you will still get it before others because your pre-order is still valid.
Thanks,

  • Apple canceled my iPad pre-order

I pre-ordered my new iPad on Thursday, March 8th (32GB White, WiFi-only), and today received an email (below) stating that the order had been cancelled. I called Apple Support to inquire about the reason and the agent, while helpful, was completely baffled by the cancellation as well. He offered to resubmit my order, but now that the pre-order stock has been exhausted, I will not receive my iPad on the 16th as originally promised.
This is certainly disappointing coming from Apple, a company which ordinarily is outstanding in customer support. I'm still looking foward to receiving my new iPad, but it is a shame that an error on Apple's part means that I will have to wait an extra week for their mistake.
Has anyone else received unexpected notifications of canceled orders?
    Dear Apple Customer,
Thank you for your recent iPad purchase at the Apple Online Store.
While we appreciate your interest in the new iPad, we are unable
to process your order. Apple is unable to fulfill orders that exceed
the quantity limit per customer, or that ship to an international,
freight forwarder, or an APO/AFO address.
Your iPad order has been cancelled, and you will not be charged.
Thank you for shopping with Apple.

    Hello jokjoklang,
AppleCare+ can be purchased within 60 days of the purchase of your iPhone.
Purchase AppleCare+ with your new iPhone. Or buy it within 60 days of your iPhone purchase:
At an Apple Retail Store (inspection of iPhone and proof of purchase are required)
OR call (800) 275-2273 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)

  • Switching from AT&T & want to pre-order

I am going to switch over from AT&T and come over to Verizon Wireless for the new iPhone. Any ideas of how I should do the pre-order since I don't have an account with Verizon Wireless?  Should I do a pre-order through Apple or Verizon Wireless?

  • Pre-ordered available song won't appear in purchased in iTunes?

I pre-ordered One Direction's new album Four, and have received all of the available songs except one, which was the first to be released other than "Steal my Girl", titled "ready to run". It states that I have pre-ordered the song, but will not show up in purchased, even though I know it is available from looking at the album not signed into my account. When I sign in, it just states it was pre-ordered but has no options for download. How can I download it?

    Hi emster829,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you have preordered an album but the available songs haven't downloaded yet, try the steps mentioned in this article first:
iTunes Store: About pre-orders - Apple Support
    Download a pre-ordered item
When a pre-ordered item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know that you can download your pre-order.
If you enabled the option to automatically download prepurchased content in iTunes, then your pre-ordered content may already be in your library. If not, click the download link provided in your email notification, and your pre-ordered content will begin to download. You can also use the Check for Available Downloads feature in iTunes on your computer (choose Store > Check for Available Downloads) to begin downloading your pre-order.
If the available songs do not download, you may want to report an issue with your iTunes Store purchase:
Report an problem with an item you bought from the iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store - Apple Support
    All the best,
    Jeremy

  • Pre-order question for iPhone5/Verizon

    I have a quick question...
My wife and son currently have the iPhone4 with AT&T and they are now out of contract.  I'm currently on Verizon.  I want to change their carrier and pre-order the iPhone5 for both of them from Verizon.  I want to add those lines to my existing Verizon account and transfer their numbers as well.  Would I be able to do this through this through the Apple Store's web-pre-order system? (or possibly Verizon's?) or will I have to speak with someone about doing this?
Thank you so much in advance

Here's what AT&T had to say about new customers when the 3GS was launched. I'd guess the same applies to iphone 4:

  • Pre-Order Rejected Payment

So...  I went online last night on Apple's website to pre-order 2 new iPhone 5's.  AT&T's site was stalling.  We have a family plan so I tried to add both to the same order, but it wouldn't let me - so I did them in two seperate orders.  I guess my bank saw 2 $400+ charges try and go through and blocked one.  I got an email saying "Thank you for your order" and the est. arrival date as the 21's.  But then today I was notified they needed a different form of payment for the second one (my bank blocked it thinking it was fraud).  I called and got it cleared up and resumbitted and it says everything's good now - and the est. arrival date on both phones are still Sept. 21's but my husband is really worried that this put one of the phones at the "back of the line," and one will be delayed.
According to the site, again, everything looks cool - but I was just wondering if anyone has had this happened in previous pre-orders and knows for sure if this delays anything or not
    Yes, I'm that parinoid...

[quote When I did the test run with the droid x they were making me pay the 30 at the time of order even though I have it with my bb /quote]
I just ran it again.... are you sure you are not mistaking the summary page, which shows everything you are signing up for, with the actual cost of the phone which you are buying?

  • PRE-ORDERING TIP

My tip based on my experience with pre-ordering the iPhone 4 when it came out is that you USE THE APPLE SITE! A lot of people experienced issues with Verizon's pre-ordering site, including me. I immediately switched to Apple's site and pre-ordered 2 iPhone's within 3 minutes without a hitch. I'm not bashing Verizon's site because a lot of people had success. All I'm saying is that if you want to pre-order, why not do it from a site that is more reliable and has more experience with the amount of traffic that comes through during pre-orders? Just trying to save headaches and panic attacks!
Oh, and don't forget that pre-ordering starts 12:01AM Pacific!!!

As mentioned, unless they make a change to it the ordering time will be based off of PST time...12:01 PST/3:01 EST. It's more fair (like mentioned, everyone gets the chance to order at the same time (and equal chance of running into the product selling out) versus it being at 12:01 in each timezone. Yes, for those of us on the east coast that would be great lol. But let's say the possibility os product selling out existed...who would be the group most likely hit with the "out of stock" sign? West Coast customers that had to wait 3 hrs after East Coast...6hrs later for those in Hawaii! We all can debate if there really is a chance at product selling out...but the point is why risk it? Besides, it fits Apple's usual model. Simplicity. Have online sells start at the same time for everyone.

  • Amiibo pre-orders

Can I please get a straight answer on what's going on with the Wave 2 Amiibo pre-orders? Every other retailer is selling the Zelda, Little Mac, and Diddy Kong pre-orders this weekend, and I originally received an email stating I could pick up my pre-order for them on 12/14.
Then I received an email stating I couldn't pick up Little Mac until 12/19.
Then this morning I received an email confirming Zelda and Diddy Kong would be ready for pick-up tomorrow. Shortly thereafter, I received emails stating they wouldn't be ready until 12/17. I asked customer support at my local store what was going on and they have no idea. Because every other retailer is quickly selling out of these, I'm concerned about Best Buy honoring my pre-order.

I had to do quite a bit of legwork to figure this out yesterday (Best Buy unfortunately did not make it easy). I received an email on Saturday stating I could pick them up on Sunday (12/14). I never got my official "ready for pick-up" email so I called the store and the woman I spoke to said that Diddy Kong was available but not Zelda, even though they were both in the bin for in-store pick-up. She put me on hold to double check and make sure she was correct, and then said I could pick up both but none of the others were available (she also acknowledged that their system was really screwy with the dates and they were most likely not accurate). I showed up at the store, was given both, and was then told they could not sell them to me. The manager then came by and said Nintendo sent the company (and Target, Wal-Mart, etc.) an email earlier that morning stating they could not sell them until the 17th. I asked why I was told that I could get them forty-five minutes prior and he had no answer; he just kept reiterating that they were not allowed to sell them. Between the collosal mess-up during the first wave (long story short: my order was supposedly ready but Marth was missing and it took them three weeks to interstore one from another location about an hour away) and the bad communication at the store among employees and their customers, I won't be going to this location again.
Another quick aside: an employee at the store told me that Luigi has been discontinued. I brushed it off as he didn't know what he was talking about but that is very interesting. Maybe that's going to the rare one in this wave?
I went by Gamestop afterwards and found two Zeldas, which they pulled off the shelf as I was walking towards the display (really lame). The Target by my house had a big display stating that they did not get their truck in as planned and to try again today. Earlier in the week, a Target employee told me they were not allowed to put them out on the shelf until the 19th.
I called Best Buy customer service and talked to them about my two experiences. The rep I talked to said that the company was sent an email yesterday morning stating they could not sell them. She could also not account for other stores selling them early and breaking street date (fair enough). She then told me that all the figures would be available on Friday, Dec. 19th (not the 17th, like I was told in the store), except for Luigi, which they cannot sell until the 30th!
I would really like an official response that isn't "we can't speculate on release dates" or "check back for updated information" from Best Buy on this. A little trasparency would be helpful, especially since I am ready to take my business elsewhere. They really have not been on their game with the Amiibos, which is disappointing.

  • Is there going to be a line for pre order tomarrow?

i am going to my at&t store tomarrow for the preorder. am i gonna have to get there early to avoid a line? or doesnt it matter what time i preorder the phone?

I was just wondering are apple going to do pre orders all day?
I expect they will do pre-orders until they have allocated all their initial pre-order stock.
do you think the pre order will only last a couple of hours?
It depends how quickly it takes for all their pre-order stock to be allocated.
    We don't know:
    a) how many iPhone's are available to pre-order
    b) how many people want to pre-order these iPhones
    c) how many iPhone's each store can allocate
    d) how quickly each store will allocate the iPhones it has
