Apple should make a 32 inch thunderbolt display.

Since macs can hold hd media I would like to enjoy it on an apple thunderbolt display. I don't have cable since I'm a hulu plus subscriber and I don't wish to buy a flat screen tv. It would be cool if apple make a 32 inch model so i can enjoy my media better instead of watching it on my macbook pro. Personally I think the 27 inch is a tad to small.

Is there some problem connecting your MBP to your TV?  Or don't you realize you can do that?
Use a mini-displayport to hdmi adapter adapter and a hdmi cable or a mini-diplayport to hdmi cable to connect the MBP to the TV.

  • HT1349 27 inch Thunderbolt Display is dead ... 3 days old

$999. 27 inch Thunderbolt Display is dead! It was purchased on December 16, 2012 ... opened on Christmas day ... and died on December 27, 2012.

I have my Thunderbolt display connected to my MacBook Pro and have been experiencing the same issue, getting worse over time.  The folks at my local Apple store did not know what to do about it.  So, I looked around and tried different thing.
The one thing that seems to be working is to System Preferences > Build-in Display > uncheck “Automatically adjust brightness.”
    I hope this helps.

  • I have my Macbook Air hooked up to a Tunderbolt Display, is there any way to either power on or wake from sleep mode using an Apple USB keyboard pluged into the Thunderbolt display?

I have my Macbook Air hooked up to a Thunderbolt Display, is there any way to power on the Macbook Air using an Apple USB keyboard plugged into the Thunderbolt display? I would like to be able to keep the Macbook Air in the Archbook dock and not have to open it to power it on?
    Thanks for any advise.

  • Apple should make a macBook where the screen can turn around and become touch screen, for easier use

Apple should make a macBook where the screen can turn around and become touch screen, for easier use. especially for when i go to uni

Why touch and swivel screens arent a good idea on a laptop:
The so-called Gorilla arm: Gorilla arm is a term describing the tired arms users get after reaching out and touching a screen for a long time.
Added thickness: Touch screen panels are usually thicker than non-touch ones—especially if the touch panel has an active digitizer for pen support.
Possibly shorter battery life: Touch screens require more power. Laptop Magazine compared a couple of touch screen laptops with their non-touch counterparts (same model and size) and found that the non-touch laptops lasted over an hour longer.
Easy to break: Swivel screens are notoriously prone to break, especially the hinge and the cable that feeds the screen from the logic board which is being constantly twisted.
And thats what the Ipad is for.

  • Apple should make a way to input the passcode into iTunes!

Apple should make a way to input the passcode into iTunes! If your screen is broke and you have a passcode you cannot backup your device or anything!  We should be able to enter the phone passcode in iTunes to bypass entering it on the phone!  I cannot do anything when my screen is black without erasing the entire phone!

  • Will apple pay work with the iphone 5s.? Atleast the online payment system can work fine with touch ID.. Apple should make a note of this.

Apple pay is great feature introduced with the new iphone's. But for 5s users who are not gonna upgrade this year, apple is a requirement. Sure they can use it via apple watch. But apple pay with the online payment system can be used via the touch id, i feel.. Apple should make a note of this and enable it for users.

Probably not, as the 5s doesn't have NFC capability.

Apple should make a server hardware/OS with iOS level security. This could compete well with the breach infested pre secure OS/hardware server systems like Windows Linux OSX.  It should be structurally immune to phishing etc and could be sold easily as a secure alternative.  It should be based on structural hardware based security as has been demonstrated in the iOS operating system and the hardware should be made in secure facilities in the US.  Those Chinese put weaknesses into the hardware they make as has been documented on 60 minutes.

Apple's entry in the server market has come and gone - is there a question in there somewhere?

  • Apple should make Bluetooth equipment not Mac OS specific.

I have bought Mighty Mice and wireless keyboards from Apple and wireless mice and keyboards from Logitech. I also had one high-grade Microsoft wireless mouse. I have a few thoughts about them.
    (1) The new Microsoft mouse was out in a couple of months. (Made in China, poor quality, terrible!)
    (2) Apple' Mighty Mice and wireless keyboards are pretty but too much trouble in connection and search of reconnection. The devices are so much tied to the version of Mac OS, very inconvenient, especially for someone like me in the transition between Mac OS 10.11 and Mac OS 10.5.5, the Apple's might mice and wireless keyboards are headaches. Apple should make the Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard equipment specific (my laymen's term, excuse me!) In another words, they should be connected to the computer's Bluetooth automatically as soon as the computer is booted up, without the support from individual version of the ongoing Mac OS.
    (3) Logitech's mouse and keyboard work in different version without losing the contact between the switch of Mac OSs. However, they will be more attractive if they are designed the look and functions like the Apple's Mighty mouse and keyboard.

OK, I finally got my BT keyboard to 1) initially pair (I migrated to a new machine) and, 2) to reliably pair after a re-start.
It took some time to actually get the KB to pair with the new laptop. I was able to do this after zapping the PRAM and installing fresh batteries. But, on booting, the keyboard would not re-pair. I would fiddle with the keyboard power switch, and turning BT off/on. This does not make a BT KB useful with a laptop.
Anyway, I found a tip somewhere that suggested re-installing 10.5.6 from the Combo update (I was already at 10.5.6 from Software Update). I did this, and the problem appears to be fixed! After a reboot the KB pairs with my laptop. Yeah!
    Eight hours later, problem solved.

  • 27 inch thunderbolt display blacks out after Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2

Bought 2 new 27 inch TB displays for two different machines and after a couple of days the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 appears on my Mac Pro with one of the displays installed. So I install the firmware update.  Now my display blacks out periodically and I keep getting Graphic Display Errors with a request to sent the errors to Apple. Running a 32 GB Mac Pro (late 2013 circular style) I have three monitors connected (two 20 inch cinema displays and the new 27 inch display). This machine is supposed to be able to handle three 4k monitors or 6 standard TB displays.  I've seen the posts about the blacking out with this monitor but I didn't have any problems before the firmware update and now I've got them pretty regularly.  I had the blacking out problem on an earlier monitor and took one of the monitors back and Apple gave me another one and this is the replacement.  Same problem, but this one only started after the update. I'm hoping someone from Apple reads these messages and can let me know what's up.
BTW, I also have an older 27 inch Apple monitor that ran perfectly on this machine so I'm disappointed that I spent all this money and now get the blacking out issue.

  • I want to daisy chain my 15 inch mid 2012 non retina macbook pro to a 2012 27inch imac and then to a 27 inch thunderbolt display

I have a mid 2012 non retina 15inch macbook pro, and a 27inch 2012 imac, and a 27inch thunderbolt dsplay and I want to use the imac and the thunderbolt display as dual monitors for my macbook pro and daisy chain them together.  I have an extra thunderbolt cable,  How would I go about doing this,  every time I try to connect it via Target Display mode it only shows up on the imac and the thunderbolt diplay shows the imac screen but I cannot access anything on it. I would love some help,  I am probably just missing something simple.

Yes there is on Mac computers that do not come from the factory with "Built In", Note the Words Built In, DVD drive.
On all Mac computers that come with Built In DVD drive Apple has Restricted the installation of Windows from ONLY That Built In drive and Only when it is Physically installed inside the system.
Many people have tried what you want to do and to my knowledge None have been successful.
It is something that is Hard Wired, Written, into the Firmware of these Mac computers.
Some have tried installing Windows on the standard HDD and then moving that HDD to the optical bay or leaving it in the main bay and installing a SSD into either the main drive bay or optical bay and have been greeted with the system not booting to either OS or not booting to Windows.
Something about how boot camp sets up the drive and possibly makes changes to the Firmware or EFI partition on the drive that Windows is installed to or to both that restrict it. You can't even make another Mac OS X partition on that drive without screwing up the Windows install.
To your last post the Answer is NO as stated above.

  • Does Safari ever fill up the entire 27 inch thunderbolt display

I just connected a thunderbolt display (27 inche) to my Macbook Pro Retina, but I am trying to get safari to fill out the entire display... it just fills out a center column. Is this possible? Please see attached image for my problem

No, the way HTML is structured doesn't allow for text or images to flow outside the 'boundaries', so to speak. So you just get a background color (if one is programmed) or tiled image as the background. All of the 'content' stays within a predefined area that makes it look the same on multiple browsers (I'm just now getting into HTML and CSS coding now - pretty interesting stuff).

  • Apple should make a feature on itunes where you can use to make your ipod make a noise so you can find it.

The only way right now to locate your ipod touch is through mobile me and that still wouldn't be able to locate an ipod in your house! They should make it so you can make the device synched to your library, remotley make a noise so that you can find it! Lets convice Apple that they should include it in the next itunes update! Lets get this discussion noticed!!

I use https://me.com/find/ and it shows me where my ipod Touch or iPhone are on a google map. It can also send a messgae or sound. I have used it to find my iPod touch.
All discussions here are between users like you and me, Apple does not read these discussions.

  • Apple should make alternate "ringtone sounds" for the iPhone...

I'm not really a fan of having actual songs as ringtones, I prefer ringers or other sounds like the ones that came with the phone. Is it a possibility that apple might make some more of these and put them in iTunes?

you can make your own ringtones by using a free app called MakeiPhoneRingtone. take any sound or audio sample you want & save it as an AAC. then drag it onto the app's icon. when you sync your iphone to iTunes & it should be there under the 'ringtones' tab.
if you don't have a program that can save an AAC, try exporting it in quicktime pro as an AIFF. then import it into iTunes & convert it to AAC. drag it to your desktop & then onto the app's icon (it doesn't seem to want to drag & drop directly from iTunes).
record your own "Wife calling" or "wake up for your early meeting" ringtones & alarms. audio samples from your favorite shows like The Simpsons or Futurama make good ringtones too.
