Apple sign flashing up - iPod not connecting

I have a 4th generation nano which I have had for over 6 months. I've never had any problems connecting it to my computer or charging it.
Now my ipod won't even turn on. When I plug it in to my computer to charge it, my computer does not register it and the iPod screen has the apple sign flashing up every 5 seconds.
I've tried 2 different PC's and a laptop and it does not show up on any of them. I have also tried using different cables but this does not help either.
I have tried the process of resetting but this doesn't make a difference and I can't restore it becuase it needs to show up in itunes to be able to do this.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Let the battery run out. When the battery is completely dead, charge it using a wall adapter (if you have one) or connect to the computer. When the battery is completely dead, it takes some time for the ipod to show in itunes.

I searched for you and found this answer:
com.apple.appleaccount error 403 is the "best guess" error presented by IOS 7 when it see's the 3 user creation limit is reached and you attempt to create a new ICloud account by logging into ICloud on phone that has used all 3 account creation limit set by Apple.
Fix: go to a different Apple device that has not burned up its 3 per device ICloud account creations and setup the account there.
NOTE: you will use up one of the 3 maximum ICloud account creations on the device you use.

ipod wont turn on all i see is the apple sign then my ipod shuts off again, how to fix it?

Connect it to itunes, and see if itunes recoginizes it.
If not, then hold home and the power button to do a soft reset.
If not, then you will need to go into recovery mode.
To get into recovery mode you need to Hold Power + Home at the same time. After it goes blank, continue holding the home button while releasing your finger from the Power Button.
You should be able to do it. Otherwise, you may need to send your Ipod in for repair.
NOTE - Using recovery on your Ipod will erase all data and reset all settings.

  • Ipod not connecting again, apple please read this.

First let me state that I made posts awhile back about my Ipod touch not being able to be recognized by itunes at all and just as a camera by windows. Now every single guide did nothing to help and the FEW people that posted had posted things I already did that did not help.
HOWEVER the version of Itunes that was prior to the one I just downloaded connected PERFECTLY with no issues.
But I just updates and wouldnt you know it, the connection problem is BACK. Apple please read this, the last version of Itunes had something different with how it connected to the Ipod...PLEASE bring that back, its so inconvenient not being able to connect to my own Ipod
If someone wants to post a reply that might help feel free...but everything on this website and even a few others not posted here have not worked, this is mostly me praying that Apple reads it...that tiny difference on how it connected made a huge difference with my computer.

Thanks. I worked out a simpler method of turning off the internet access - just switching off my wireless modem. Either way, this works and with the PC not connected to the internet, all three Apple devies will sync.
Thinking about it now, I had a similar problem a few versions ago which I recognised because with Home Sharing on and connected to the internet iTunes was trying to find files from someone in another hotel room who also sharing the hotel's wireless network. My devices would not sync then either. This seemed to be resolved with subsequent itunes upgrades until now ....
Thanks for the advice. Let's hope Apple's next 'update' actually updates itunes so it can sync Apple devices whilst simultaneously connected to the internet (not a big ask really).

  • Ipod not connecting to windows or iTunes!

My iPod isn't being recognised by the computer, but when I disconnect it it lights up.. So it thinks somethings happening. Also, a seperate iPod works fine on a different logon to mine. My iPod is over a year old, could this be caused by the battery?

Unfortunately, there is no one ‘Silver Bullet’ answer for this issue. Many things can contribute to the problem. Here are various solutions that you can try to correct your problem. One should work.
First, make sure that the iPod is fully charged.
Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.
If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter: Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management. Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”. Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused. Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” (or something similar).
If that doesn't work, Put Your iPod into Disk Mode then plug it in and you should be able to Restore the iPod
Your PC may have difficulty with the USB2 protocol and the iPod. See this Article for a possible solution: iPod not Recognized Correctly
Also try these hints (and the other suggestions above) from any other USB port you may have on the PC. Sometimes switching USB ports can make all the difference.

  • IPOD NOT CONNECTING TO WIFI AFTER UPDATING TO IOS 8.1.3

I recently updated my ipod touch to ios 8.1.3. after which it stopped connecting to my wifi device saying password is incorrect. Needless to say password was correct and other devices were connecting fine. I restarted device, tried connecting it with other wifi devices (it didnt connect to other devices either) , i reset network setting , erased all contents and reset setting and finally restored ipod to factory setting using itunes but problem is still persisting.. Now I have an ipod without wifi which is pretty useless. Need your help in this regard

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod not connecting to windows (screen on ipod only lights up)

Hi, I have been using my ipod classic perfectly for months now. All of a sudden once day it failed to connect. I have tried the 5 R's I have put it in disk mode, nothing! The computer just won't pick it up at all! It doesnt show in device manager, my computer or itunes. I thought it was my computer so I reformatted my hard drive and the problem persists. I am getting really frustrated and do not know what to do. I REALLY dont want to reset my ipod to factory settings as I will lose ALL my music, movies everything and I don't know what to do.
I am not sure if it has somehow switched to mac version, as on the support area
    - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1335
It says on the settings>about to scroll down to the bottom and if the serial number is there its mac, however I dont have scroll instead I press the middle button and at the end there are 3 items, none of which are the PC version but one is the serial code, suggesting it has maybe gone to mac?
I really REALLY apreciate any help you guys can offer me I have been slaving away for days at it and this is my last resort!

OK, first, have you checked out this Apple tech support article - iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes?
Second, if this is an iPod Classic, you can check its format on the third "About" screen. This screen should have three lines:
    *Serial Number*
    Model
Version (this line should display the software version and format - i.e., 1.1.2PC, where "PC" indicates that it is formatted for Windows)

  • Update time capsule, since ipod not connect wifi to time capsule

    Hello,
Since I update my Time Capsule(7.5.1), I cannont connect my ipod touch to wifi time Capsule.
message ipod is : impossible de rejoindre le réseau RES_Didier
My iMac is connected, my PC Windows is connected ans my Apple TV to.
    Only my ipod cannot connect.
But, if i connect my ipod to an other wifi network it is ok.
That is only with my time capsule that I cannot connect wifi!!
Do you know why ? can you help me ? (sorry my english is not very good)
    Thanks
    Didier

Did you upgrade install Mavericks? I think this can lead to all kinds of issues.. clean install the OS is the only way.
Do a full factory reset of the TC..
Use all SMB names.. that is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
I strongly recommend when you have trouble.. even different names for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. So you can keep track of where the issue is.
Also use ethernet.. if you have not got ethernet port, buy a Thunderbolt to ethernet (much the preferred) or USB to ethernet.. if thunderbolt is missing or used.
Open network utility on your computer and find the listing for the TC.
    ie scan via netstat.
Make sure you have ipv6 turned on to link local.. this is now essential.
Use the IP address if it is static rather than name.. and try it in full network isolation by ethernet.
So Go .. Connect to server.
    AFP://10.0.1.1 (at default IP)
The default password is public.. you will need to type in a password.
If it fails the TC could be faulty.
Use ping via the terminal to make sure the network is working.
