Apple Site and Non US Locations
Not sure if this is the correct area for this, been meaning to ask this for a while
Is there any way to get the Apple site to remember what country you are in?
eg
I go and browse the store, set my location to the UK
then come here and read the discussions
go back to the store and it defaults back to US
Is this something on my machine or can the site not remember what location you are in?

At the bottom of this page, lower right, is a setting that allows you to choose a country location. Set that to the UK. That should be a global setting for all of the stuff collected under Support, and used to act as a global for a person's account - don't know if it still does. Websites that one joins should be clever enough to do things like that, although this one is still under partial construction and some things still aren't working the way intended.
All else fails, bookmark a direct link to the Apple Store (UK) and use it.

It could be that someone has accessed your AppleID/iCloud account with out authorization. Or it could be that you forgot to remove find my iPhone form a phone that your previously owned.

Authorization holds are removed by your financial institution shortly after your purchase clears. The time it takes to remove authorization requests varies by financial institution.
The number of days that it takes to diappear varies by bank, but it's usually a few days - though with the weekend coming up it might take an extra day or two -
My early 2011 MBP 13" does not recognize my Sandisk 16GB 45MB/s Extreme Pro SDHC card. I went to the Genius Bar and we tried it in all the MacBook Pro's in the Apple Store and NONE could recognize the card. However, iMacs did. Any suggestions? Genius behind the Bar suggested wait for LION OS X release...

I have a Mac 10.5.8 Dual. I cannot get any videos that I have stored to play. I have tried QT and then DL two out side players from apple site and then went to install and comp said can not be installed on this comp.
When Microsoft decided not to support Windows Media any more, they made Flip4Mac available for free. If you have not taken advantage of that free download, this might be a good time.
It may not completely solve the problem, but your Mac will play more with the free player. No need to pay for the Upgrades.

I got a message saying I didn't have java installed. I went to the apple site and downloaded JavaForMacOSX10.7.dmg and installed java. but it still says I don't have java installed.
I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

No more access to trailers from Apple site and iTunes.
A few days ago I discovered that the page - www.apple.com/trailers - would no longer fully load in either Safari or Opera. All of the graphics at the top of this page were missing (the graphics providing visual links to trailers), and if I clicked on one of the trailer titles as listed below on this page, the new page would open but it would not fully load, also not displaying the trailer graphic. I have a DSL connection and have had no trouble linking to and playing trailers from - www.apple.com/trailers - in the past. The pages would all load quickly, and the trailers play on cue.
I decided to try to access the trailers through the iTunes Music Store, but, again, the Movie Trailers page would not fully load. After many minutes, it would still not load all the way, but where there should be small graphics for each of the trailers, there would appear only graphics of a broken chain link. All of the icons for music and audio books on this Trailers page display normally, and their links work just fine. All other features of the iTunes Music Store work just fine, too - music, audio books, podcasts, etc.
I am able to go to the official web site address of a movie (using Safari or Opera) and if it has a trailer that plays in QuickTime, I have no trouble playing it. This indicates to me that the QT plug in is working fine on both browsers. I have QT movies on my HD, and they still play just fine. The problem I'm having seems to be restricted to just the Apple web site and iTunes Music Store sections that have to to with access to trailers.
A week or so before I noticed this problem, I had upgraded to QT 7.0.2. I tried switching back to 7.0.1, but this made no difference, and have since upgraded again to 7.0.2. I tried removing "QuickTime Plugin.webplugin" from the Internet Plugin folder, but this didn't help either. I don't know what to try next, and I'm sure that I didn't add any thing new to my computer or upgrade anything, or change any QT settings just before this problem of no access to movie trailers cropped up.
Any help on this matter would be well received!

Apple-TV and non-iTunes Streams
I am thinking about buying an Apple TV (3rd Gen) can i watch videos/streams/movies/TV shows from other non iTune source such as Satellite.com instead those from iTunes? If yes, is there any special setup to be done etc.

I am/was planning to buy an ATV and AE this weekend for the purpose of viewing my Adobe Tutorials and other online photography tutorials on the big-screen while using the Photoshop on my iMac.
Your previous answer seems to imply that "it just won't work"....unless I somehow get those tutorials through the Apple Store? I can't just play them on the iMac and port them to the big screen via ATV...? -

But any content that you bought/downloaded via your old account will remain tied to that old account - have you tried to get the password reset for it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password' -
I use tab groups for specific projects and would like to print/save a list of the websites used on each project. Using the list function on a tab group produces a list of the web-sites which can be printed/saved via PrtSc and Word. How can the web-site addresses be included? With this list available I would then close the tabs.
Someone might have created an add-on for this, although I didn't find one in a search.
Could I suggest this workaround for now:
(1) Use the Bookmark All Tabs feature (right-click a tab when your tab group is displayed) to save all tabs to a new folder on the bookmarks menu. Some tips in the "How do I bookmark all of my open tabs?" section of this article: [[How to use bookmarks to save and organize your favorite websites]].
(2) Export bookmarks to an HTML file. Unfortunately, this will be all bookmarks, not just the ones you want, but hang in there. This article has the steps: [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]].
(3) Open the exported HTML file in Firefox or your favorite WP program. Now you can either:
(A) Copy/paste the live links for your tab group into your preferred form of archival storage. Or
(B) Print (e.g., select the relevant bookmarks and use the Print Selection feature). However, in order to show the URLs, you need to hack the page a little bit.
(i) In Firefox, you can run a little script in the Web Console on the bookmarks page. Press Ctrl+Shift+k to open the web console. Copy the following line of script, then paste it next to the caret (">") in the web console and press Enter. The URLs should appear after the links.

My Messages and Facetime applications say my apple ID or password is incorrect when it works for other applications including icloud, and works on the apple id website. I have reinstalled Mountain Lion upon request of an apple advisor but there is still no luck and other apple IDs work on the applications. Why is this happening?

This is almost always a hardware failure that requires replacing the phone.

Updating Apple applications in non standard location with Software Update
Hi all,
just wondering if anyone can help... I figured a solution but I am unhappy with it.
I like to move my applications like 'iPhoto' etc into a custom location, for example '/Applications/Media', and when I do so, 'Software Update' no longer finds updates for them because it expects them to be in '/Applications'. This seems a bit restrictive to me, is there a way I should be registering their new location so 'Software Update' can find them?
At the moment I am moving them back into '/Applications', going through the update process, and then moving them back.

I have tried to install the software from several sites including the apple site and they all say that the software is corrupted and did not install correctly to delete and reinstall. this seems unlikely as it has been weeks since I have been retrying the sites with the same results...is there an apple download that will check my pc for any errors that may be keeping the itunes from installing.. or is there anything else i can do to fix the issue.. its unlikely that itunes could stay corrupted for so ling without noticing it and fixing the issue..thank you...

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
