Apple Software Update says I'm up-to-date but I'm not.

Over the summer I downloaded a beta of an iTunes program for Mac. Eventually that program expired so I needed to download the real iTunes. I did, and it was fine up until about a week ago. I was told that I needed to update my iTunes. I said, yes, Download the new iTunes but Apple Software Update says i'm up to date! I think it's because I don't have my original iTunes anymore? How can I make it so that it recogznies my application again? Also, my screensaver for iTunes Album Art claims it can't find my library now? What should I do?

"Download the new iTunes but Apple Software Update says i'm up to date!"
And?
You downloaded the newest iTunes so you are up to date.

  • E61, Updater says it's up to date, but it's not!

Hello, so I purchased a Nokia E61, unlocked, sim free, the code is: 0538289, this is the code everybody seems to have a problem with updating. As some of you know, the Updater believes the 1.06****** is up to date, but we all know there is a 2.****** available, why isn't this code supported, will it be temporary? should I go ahead and return the E61 from where I bought it?
I mean, I don't mind waiting a month or so as long as I can start updating like EVERYONE ELSE, but if Nokia won't let me update this phone for good, then I don't want it, can ANYBODY please shed some light...
    Thank you

are you sure Ray? I just need to be sure it will eventually come out, and not be stuck with this Firmware forever, so everybody can confirm this is a legit code phone? It's not something that was bought from a service provider and re-flashed?
The code is legitimate, as for Nokia releasing v2.x for it, I couldn't say as I do not know.

I read somewhere that's what some sellers do, they buy a leftover batch from providers, for example Orange, and then they re-flash the software to make it seem it's an unlocked phone, now when you wanna upgrade it, the updater says there is no update, because that code belongs to the batch of phones that Orange owns and they don't allow upgrades unless you do it through them, are we dealing with this case or are we safe?
This could happen and has happened before, however in 99% of the cases on this board are when people upgrade and they lose their language, usually their handset was from another market and the updater restored the original configuration. These handsets are usually bought in bulk from a cheaper market, modified then resold to the unsuspecting or people who don't want to pay the legitimate price.

  • When I launch Firefox, Adobe Update says Reader is out of date, but it is not.

I don't even use the Adobe Reader plugin, since, on a Mac, it doesn't work anyway. I use Firefox PDF Plugin, instead. But, when I launch Firefox, Adobe Update launches and tells me that Adobe Reader is out of date. When I launch Adobe Reader and check for updates, it says that it's up to date. I wouldn't care if it just happened once, but it continues to happen, at least once a day. It's very annoying. How do I get it to stop, since it's wrong, anyway?
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
Firefox 3.6.13 (Adobe Reader plugin not installed)
    Firefox PDF Plugin 1.1.3
    Adobe Reader 10.0.1

There seems to be a SEVERE lack of information on this issue and evidently no one is doing anything about it.
The available info simply leads you in circles.

  • Apple Software update says install icloud 4.01, but it is already installed

Dell XPS 8300 (i7, 16 GM ram, 1.5TB HD) running windows 7 fully updated,
Latest version of all software installed with all updates.
icloud 4.01 is already installed and functions, yet apple software update continues to show the update still required.
Reinstall and ASU still shows update required.
    Reinstall & reboot, same result.
Uninstall, reinstall & reboot, same result.
What causes this erroneous loop and how do I fix it?

Apple Software Update keeps asking me to install iCloud for Windows 4.0.2 but it's already installed and working fine.

  • ITunes says an Update is Available, so  I click download and Software Update says everything is up to date?

This is really weird.  I have iTunes version 10.6.1 and it says version 10.6.3 is available.  I click to download and it opens Software Update.  Suprisingly, software update says "All apps are up to date." What is wrong???
    OS Lion 10.7.4

I'd try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • IMovie tells me there is an update, but Software Update says I'm up to date

When I start iMovie it says I should update to version 8.0.4 but when Software Update opens it says everything is up to date. What gives?

I regularly have the same problem with Software Update. I'll get a message from an application (like iTunes) saying new software is available, but when I run Software Update I get the message "Your software is up to date."
I know I can manually download these updates, but why is Software Update missing these updates?

  • I recently got an Ipod touch model A1213 and I cannot figure out how to get apps on it. I have tried everything and when I try to update software, it says Im already up to date, but my software version is only 1.1.5. How do i fix it?

I recent recieved and Ipod touch model A1213 and i cannot figure out how to get apps on it. I have tried everything i can think of and when i try to update my ipod software it tells me that its already up to date. even though its only 1.1.5. How do i fix it?

You have a 1st generation iPod Touch.
It can be updated to 3.1.3 by purchase. See here Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)

  • Says there's an update for iTunes (11.1.2) but my 'software update' says everything is up to date??

When I click to install the update it comes back as everything is up to date.  Don't know what's going on.

This is a pretty common glitch at Apple.  I've had it happen several times. There seems to be a sync problem between the notification and the updater, and you'll sometimes get a notice about a new version of the software that the updater can't yet find.
If you really want the absolute latest software, you can go to Apple and download it by hand.  Otherwise, wait a few days and things will work.

  • My ipod says it's up to date, but it's not and I can't update/restore

Itunes updated to 7.0.2 and I can load up my own CDs onto my ipod nano. I can buy new tunes on the internet and they load into my itunes library but the purchased tunes don't load onto my ipod - I keep getting a error message that my ipod software is out of date. I've tried uninstalling itunes but keep having the same problem. My ipod preferences page tells me I have software version 5.1 on the ipod. I can see the buttons for update/restore, but this whole section is grayed out and the buttons don't work. What can I do?

When you come back, try this.
Click on control panel/admin tools/computer management/disk management/right click on the iPod to re-assign the drive letter.
Choose something lower down the alphabet, say 'M' or something similar.
The iPod can be confused by any other storage devices assigned a similar drive letter even though they may not connected at the same time.
If the device manager is empty, see this: iPod not appearing in Windows device manager.
It's a long shot but worth a try.

  • How to update Photoshop CC?  C Cloud says I'm up to date -- but I'm not!

Creative Cloud says all apps are up to date.  But Photoshop CC is only version 14.0, not 14.2.
In PS if I check for updates, Adobe Application Manager says all apps are up-to-date.
Online chat help today had me reinstall Adobe Application Manager and Creative Cloud.  Did not help.
Running on Windows 8.1 Update 1.
How can I get Photoshop CC to update??

    Mylenium,
Following a suggestion on the Creative Cloud forum ( leading to this: CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed ) I uninstalled Creative Cloud and Photoshop CC, then installed Adobe Application Manager and Creative Cloud.  From Creative Cloud installed PS CC.  It worked, now up to date.
Luckily I did not have to go the whole CC Cleaner route, however,  it's good to know it's there just in case.
    Thanks for helping,
    Mark

  • My itunes says it's up to date, but it is not. If I download the new one will I loose all my stuff?

I got the I-phone 5, and when I went to sync it, it said I couldn't because I didn't have Itunes 11.  I have 10.6.3, and it says its up to date.   It said to download it, but I don't want to loose all my music and movies.  How can I do that?

The issue is that the current iTunes (11.0.4) requires at least OS X version 10.6.8 to run.
You must update your OS X first, then update your iTunes.
Note that OS X version 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is now two years old.  So I strongly suggest that you move to Lion (OS X 10.7) or Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) if your machine will support it.  Either of these upgrades will cost a bit.

  • Adobe Application Manager says InDesign is up to date, but it's not installed?

I had a trial version of InDesign and Illustrator, and the application manager insists that both are up to date, so I cannot install them. However, neither of these programs are installed on my computer anymore. How can I fix this?
    Thank you!

Did you run the uninstallers for InDesign and Illustrator? Just deleting or dragging the applications to the Trash will not remove them.
On Windows uninstall from the Control Panel. On Mac OS X uninstall from Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers.
If you have uninstalled then run the Adobe Cleaner Tool which you can download from here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html. Have it just cleanup InDesign and Illustrator.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action that you're having trouble with again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
