Apple Software Update Stuck At 20% While Looking For Updates (Multi-Platform)

Hi all,
When asked by iTunes to download the new version of iTunes (10.6), the Apple Software Updater applet opens. When t does, it only ever gets to 20% (on Windows XP/Vista it is only 10%).
Is there a problem with the Apple servers? I am using Orange Home Broadband to connect and I have no trouble buying from iTunes, I managed to get the free track of the week with no issue.
Any help would be great

I was gifted a G5 and I installed a new hard drive and loaded the OS, OS X 10.3.5. That version of Safari does not display pages correctly. E.g., support.apple.com/downloads just clocks on the righthand side of the page.
Because cannot access that link, cannot manually update the OS - I was thinking this version is "old" and as a result, unable to connect to apple's update server. Thanks.

Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card.

Something temporarily wrong with your internet connection?
Be aware that this is a very large file to download, it needs a strong consistent internet connection.
Have the iPhone on the charger cable too.
In the meantime read the threads in this forum about the visibility item and some other possible issues on the 4 and 4S (although a large number of people have these issues, it is still a minor percentage, but anyhow, be aware).

I am trying to update my IPad 2 to the new iOS 6. . .but when I check ofr updates, I get an error message "Unable to check for update - An error occurred while chekcing for a sofware update" .
I have powered off and tried again . . .but it still cannot . My Wifi is fine - and the IPad is plugged in.
Are other people having these issues.

No you won't necessarily lose your photos when upgrading but it's very very unwise not to back up first. Backing up is like using a seat belt in a car. You can drive without one for years and have no issues, but if you do have a problem the outcome will be a lot worse. So, too, with back ups. And upgrading is one of those times when the risks of a problem are higher.
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

I am using apach myfaces version 1.1.5 and tomahawk version 1.1.5 in my project with tomcat 6.
On one of my jsp page i am having a text box with value like D:\myfolder\subfolder\ .
When this page is rendering i am getting following warning at console
WARN [http-8080-2] 10-07 16:26:46 Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/>' at line 212 (ReducedHTMLParser.java:566)Is there any way i can get rid of this problem?
