Apple Software update wont connect
hey, i need to update my itunes but i cant, whenever i either open itunes and update directly or open the apple software update i get this error
The Apple Software Update server could not be found. Check your Internet Settings and try again.
All i have found searching for fixes on this is control panel > internet options > connections > LAN settings > Automatically detect settings... and that hasnt done anything
If anyone knows how to fix this problem or what to do please reply

Also i just finished getting my computer to actually open and install this version of itunes after almost 3 weeks of trying to download and install so thats not an option
Does nobody no how i can fix this problem? If someone has any help on it please post i really need my itunes up and running

I can't answer that directly. I have no idea what the settings should be since that would be particular to your network.
Since Firefox is working I'd start by looking at whatever its proxy server settings are and set the same values in System Preferences.
You might also find that you don't need a proxy server at all, in which case turning it off would be your solution. -
Nokia Software updater wont connect
Hey all,
I open Nokia Software Updater, but it just keeps saying
'Network Connection Lost. Check your network connection or wether a firewall is preventing the application from working properly'
This is what i can't understand, i've reinstalled the software, pc suite and the updater numerous times but it just hasn't worked, i know the firewall isn't effecting it, as i have disabled it and it still refuses to work. And i do have a active internet connection as i'm here now.
Please Help.
If you need the phone details for anyway it's a Nokia N80.I had the same issue with N82, I had Mcafee Firewall, after I disable it, it didn't work. I had to use startup program, to remove it from the windows startup, and after that I managed to use the software update.

Software update cant connect to the internet
I connect to the internet via wifi on my MBP and I can have say firefox connecting to the internet, mail checks fine, itunes store works, but Safari and Mac Software Updater wont connect. Any Ideas?
Ive tried resetting PRAM,
Tried the network diagnostic, but that says its all fine but a rerun of the updater still no connection.
Tried various signal strengths to the modem.
check/verify permissions and Hard disk.I have had this error returned for months... Not just during the holidays. Dozens of other users are having/have been having the same issue. SU starts just fine, gets to about 25 meg (in my case) and times out, returns the error you quoted. Smaller files usually (but not always) come thru ok. A common thread with all the posts I have read seems to be DSL. On a different thread, it was suggested the modem can get out of synch with the server due to line or modem issues such as forgetting to put filter in all phone jacks.
Anyway, I'm going to give SU another go... It probably won't work... -
About the OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 Update i am trying to update this since yesterday but its saying there is an error in server "Can't connect to the Apple Software Update server.(-1003)" please advise with instructions how to update it...

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Apple Software Update doesn't see connected HP printer. Need new driver
I recently installed OS X 10.7 Lion on my MBP, from Mountain Lion. I am working at a remote location and for a while and want to connect to a nearby HP LJ1320 (USB-only) printer. When I connected it, System Preferences detected it, listed the desired driver as "LJ 1320 series" and started a "Finding software" routine. It stopped and said software not found. When I went to support area of HP site, the offered no direct download link for 10.6-8, but instead steered me to ASU (Apple Software Update) as my driver solution. When I run ASU, I don't get any listing for updated printer drivers, HP or otherwise. I'm lost in an endless do-loop here that leads nowhere. Should I be looking at some open-source driver instead?
Typically that requires a special patch, but those are only provided to certain printers. I know what's keeping you from being able to install though. The database on your Mac that tells it what is and isn't compatible is out of date. What you will need to do is:
Disconnect the printer from the Mac.
Run Apple Software Updates.
Restart the Mac.
Once the Mac is back on, connect the printer to it, and add the printer's queue to the list.
That should be all that needs to be done. Let me know what happens.

When i try to uninstall Apple software update it brings up a message saying "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program requirement for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." I believe i have Windows VISTA. Yes i know its old but i have not had the money or time to update.
I just want itunes installed properly so i can use it for when i have my new phone. please please help i have tried everything it seems like !For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I go through all the motions in troubleshooting and uninstall Itunes, but I have not got Quicktime and Apple Software Update to uninstall. I then re-install Itunes but I get an error saying that 'Service Apple Mobile failed to start. Verify you have sufficient privileges to start'. Which I have. Please help!!

Updated the lastest apple software to my macbook pro and now I can no longer read my emails from my microsoft exchange email. The email arrives in my inbox and you can open it -- but when you try and read the content -- it says loading..... but never loads. It worked fine this weekend -- but after I udpate the last apple software update it stopped working. I can read the emails fine on my iphone (same email account) but not on my macbook pro.
I called Apple and they could not figure out a solution to the problem -- is anyone else having this trouble?Concisely:

Apple Software Update trying to connect to IP address
Hello;
ZoneAlarm alerted me today to the fact that the Apple Software Update program (C:\Program Files\Apple Software Update\SoftwareUpdate.exe) was attempting to access IP address 89.149.169.24. This IP address belongs to Akamai Technologies. Anybody have any idea why this software would be attempting to contact Akamai? Thanks in advance.If you Google Amakai iTunes you will see why.

Why wont the apple software update show up in my programs?
So itunes told me one day that i needed to reinstall because an application was missing so i went tho the website to reinstall. However, it wouldn't let me reinstalll because it couldn't remove the apple software update application. I went to the add remove programs tab and it said he application could not be found when i tried to uninstall it. I tried downloading safari to see if i could re-download the apple update but i couldn't get it from there either. So now i have no itunes and i really need help:(

with that said is it okay to drag the HD icon to the dock on the right side of the seperator?
i made the earlier mistake of dragging by accident into launchpad adding hundreds of icons into it. launchpad cleaner took care of it.

Apple software update and safari not working
Apple software update says "could not connect verify a connection with the app store". Safari wont even display google. Both apps open up initially.

When I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature and will not be downloaded. When I DL iTunes64setup.exe, the program will not start (there's a bar that flashes but nothing actually begins). I've done everything short of reinstalling Windows to fix this (system resore, unistalling all Apple products, taking down firewall, running Windows FixIt - which either won't find the problem or gives me an error saying that the troubleshooter cannot be downloaded at this time, going into the security features to allow programs without valid signatures, trying to install earlier versions of iTunes). It all started when I downloaded the Decemberists new album on my iPhone, and it wasn't downloading it properly so I connected it to my Dell, but some songs still wouldn't DL - also, the newest OS for my iPhone still won't install via WiFi - and so I uninstalled iTunes first, but nothing is helping. And I don't have any security issues (Norton has checked). Any ideas? I'm at my wit's end after 3 days of this. Thank you.
Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!
