Apple store app using location in ios7.1 even when not launched

Just updated to iOS7.1 on my iphone. SUDDENLY the location icon on my menu bar remains on and is showing active use of location (under settings..... privacy.... location..... )... APPLE STORE is turned ON for location services..... but it is showing as ACTIVELY using location (battery life and phone resources) despite the app not even being launched
My fix? Turn off LOCATION services for APPLE STORE APP... and the location icon goes away.
Closing out the app manually DOES NOT stop the active use of locaiton services BY THIS APP.  
Only app acting this way since change to iOS7.1
Is this affecting other people the same way?

I do, but the same was happening with earlier iOS versions. I think its due to system services using location, like for traffic, cell network search, etc. For me they typically go away after 10 or so minutes, so I left the ones I think may be useful on, but if you turn location off for system services then you shouldn't get the intermittent location querying at all.

If you are having an issue with a mismatch in the reported storage space for Mail in iOS on your iPhone, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data, then try the following troubleshooting steps (the article is aimed at a slightly different issue, but the steps can also be helpful for storage reporting issues):
    If your device gets stuck during startup
    When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
    Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
    Put your device in recovery mode.
    When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

    You can't. The Apple Store app is for iOS devices and is not available for Windows Phone, nor can any other iOS app run on your Windows Phone. You'll have to use whatever web browser your phone provides if you want to shop the Apple Store.  And no, there is no Apple Store app for Windows on a computer either. Perhaps you're thinking of iTunes and the iTunes Store?

    Launch Keychain Access and click on Login in the left hand pane and then on Passwords.  Next do search for Apple in the search field at the top and click on Apple ID Authenicication in the list that comes up.  That will give you the ID no. and password.

  • Error while using apple store app for purchase

    Hi,
    I was using an apple store apps to make the purchase at irvine spacktrum apple store, I bought a PNY USB Flash Drive 8GB using the apps to make the payment. Some how it was giving me errors when the apps asked my 3 digits credit card security number, so I call the sales rep at the store, he saw the same error and he said there might be error issue with the server, so I gave him the PNY for the purchase, he scaned it with his sales device and swiped my credit card.
    But just now I look at my Wells Fargo account and I'm seeing 5 of the same transections but then I only make ,1 purchase.
    I wish you could fix this issue with my bank, or I will dispute the 4 transaction with the reason of multiple charge over a purchase.
    I wish the apple store app can be fix, if there is an error do not takes somebody's money, that way people will trust the app to make the purchase in store.

    I've also been trying this for several hours. I get to the point of choosing between the 16GB and 32 GB phones (so, after it has validated my eligibility with at&t and determined the correct pricing) and it just displays a pop-up that says "Error" (no further explanation). Color me completely unimpressed.

    You can't delete the App Store app on the iPod. You can only hide it via Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions).
    If not hidden by restrictions, have you used the SpotLight search to try to find it?

    Recently purchased a Mac and data transfer for e-mails only showed the email preview but does not open up the body of the email or attachments.  So I down loaded my inbox, and folders to a thumb drive.  this will open correctly on the window pc but the mac is looking for the approriate app to read this data.
    Could the Apple store remove down loaded emails and then reload from the thumb drive?

    If you are referring to the Apple Store app from Apple for iOS devices, then you are posting in the wrong ASC forum, this is the Mac App Store forum for Mac apps for Mac computers.
    In the articles that I have read about the new Apple Store app it mentions the in store scanning and purchasing as being for the iPhone 4 and 4S. I have not seen other iOS devices mentioned.

    I have MacBook Air 13.3 Mid 2008, suddenly the Apple Store App stopped working properly. It could lunch and display apps in apple store and even accept purchase and installation process but never succeeded. It would kept on loading until I quit it! So I thought if I uninstall and run software update it will come up again, but unfortunately it didn't show up. I have been told to reinstall the system by holding down "Command + R" keys upon restart. I did that severally but it pops up login window instead of the menu list for installation guide.
    Any idea will be appreciated.

    You will have to reinstall Lion.
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
